Abstract

The development of social media raises a problem related to social change authorities such as thinking paradigms, social behavior, and religious models. This article aims to criticize the development of religious teachings found on social media. The method used is descriptive-critical by using the authority theory Abou El Fadl to assess and analyze the development of religious models in social media while transmission theory to find the authenticity of religious teachings. The result is known that the development of religious models on social media does not display scientific transmission. Religious developments that exist in social media tend to be textual-dogmatic in style, thus impacting on a stagnant religious attitude. The importance of this article is to provide a critical review of the development of religious knowledge found on social media. The critical study lies in the aspect of substance (material) or aspects of transmission (narrator). The authenticity and the development of religious teachings on social media can be known.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the religio-cultural relations in the amplop terbang activities on the Pilangrejo people. This study used a qualitative approach to the method of interviews conducted in the Pilangrejo Village community. The results show that: First, the amplop terbang that develop in the Pilangrejo community is a form of communication between human beings in the form of symbols using envelope media. Second, messages of religious teachings, ethical values, and prevailing norms are conveyed to citizens. Third, religious and cultural relations produce values of religiosity in peoples daily lives. The most prominent value is the form of devotion to Allah Swt by loving each other. The peoples can build a life of mutual respect and side by side peacefully.

Abstract

This Study was meta-analysis of the correlation between religion and happiness. Meta-analysis aims at concluding, integrating, and interpreting data gathered from previous research. Therefore, apart from acting as primary research, the data to be analyzed through this method must have the same constructs and correlation patterns so that it could be compared with one another. The quantitative review includes 15 studies from 9 articles that contained a combined sample of approximately 7272. This analysis extends previous work by directly correcting error of sampling and measurements. Summary analysis provided support that religion has a correlation on happiness. The result showed religion have been identified as predictors and happiness.

Abstract

This paper discusses the phenomenon of community religiosity in an era of post-truth that is thick with hoaxes. Post-truth is an era marked by the exclusion of truth and emotion into the motives of action. The rise of internet technology has actually enabled the public to freely convey their ideas, feelings, personal beliefs through social media. Critical discourse method is used to reveal the extent of the impact of hoax for the community while providing alternative solutions. Increasing tensions in the community, religious and community radicalism which are essential are the findings of this paper. Building a social life - diversity that has a mission in the midst of an era like this is very much needed by developing a tradition of religious communities that are aware that real public space cannot be replaced by virtual public space, seeing information based on logic, ethics, and use; examine each information critically, and be open.

Abstract

Religious education tends to overlook this aspect of respect for other religions. This article is the result of the research field by using a qualitative approach. The source of the data gathered from in-depth interviews, observes, and the documentation of the implementation of the Interfaith education on Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace (ICRP). This article revealed that personal participant in inter-faith education implementation by ICRP underwent significant changes. On the aspect of their faith more confident with his religion, while still giving the fair space to good judgment and correct against other religions.
