Abstract

If hypertension is not treated for a long time, it will cause dangerous complications such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, chronic kidney failure and eye damage (hypertensive retinopathy). One of the non-pharmacological treatments for hypertensive patients is by providing isometric handgrip exercise therapy. The aim of the research was to conduct an analysis of nursing clinical practice in anterior ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients using the innovative intervention of isometric handgrip exercise to reduce blood pressure in the ICCU room at Aji Muhammad Parikesit Tenggarong District Hospital. This research method is a One-Shot Case Study, namely a research design where the researcher only carries out one treatment which is thought to have had an effect and then carries out a post-test. The patient in this study was 1 person with the characteristics of a patient diagnosed with a medical diagnosis of ACS Stemi who had high blood pressure. The results of the implementation of isometric handgrip exercise therapy to reduce blood pressure showed significant results during the 3 interventions in which blood pressure was reduced. The conclusion from the results of the analysis carried out showed that there was a change in blood pressure after being given the isometric handgrip exercise intervention

Abstract

Dyspepsia is a syndrome of the upper gastrointestinal tract that can cause symptoms such as heartburn nausea and vomiting that can interfere with the patient's activities. Dyspepsia with mild symptoms can be treated by self-medication. This literature review was conducted to describe the knowledge and behavior of dyspepsia self-medication by the community. A literature review was conducted by searching databases through Google Scholar on the knowledge and behavior of dyspepsia self-medication in the community between 2022-2023 that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. 10 relevant articles were obtained where 6 studies stated that the community had good knowledge and behavior for dyspepsia self-medication, 2 studies showed good knowledge and poor behavior towards dyspepsia self-medication, 1 study showed a high level of community knowledge and fairly good behavior for dyspepsia self-medication however, there was no relationship between the two and 1 study that had poor knowledge but had good behavior towards dyspepsia self-medication. This indicates that good knowledge will not always be in line with good behavior, nor will good behavior always be in line with good knowledge

Abstract

E-cigarettes are battery-powered devices that are considered a less harmful alternative to conventional cigarettes. According to the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) 2021, the prevalence of e-cigarette use in Indonesia increased from 0.3% in 2011 to 3.0% in 2021, with 5.8% of men and 0.1% of women. E-cigarette use increases health risks such as addiction, poisoning, inhalation toxicity, and lung injury or EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping product use-associated lung injury). The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of e-cigarette use on lung impairment. This study is a literature review. Literature selection was conducted through ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and PubMed databases, with the keywords “e-cigarette” AND “lung impairment” AND “EVALI”. A total of 8 articles were selected in accordance with the research objectives and inclusion criteria set. The 8 selected articles showed the impact of e-cigarette use on lung impairment, causing alveolar injury, exogenous pneumonia, and bronchiolitis obliterans. E-cigarette use was also associated with reduced lung function, as indicated by bilateral Ground-Glass Opacities (GGO) on chest CT of EVALI patients. The previous studies presented in this article comprehensively illustrate the impact of e-cigarette use on lung impairment

Abstract

Hypertension management can be done pharmacologically or by administering drugs and non-pharmacologically, one of which is elderly gymnastics. Hypertension if not given proper management can lead to heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of elderly gymnastics and antihypertensive drugs on blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. This research method uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post test nonequivalent control group design approach. The sample of this study was 39 respondents with a total sampling technique, the intervention group consisted of 20 respondents and the control group consisted of 19 respondents. The hypothesis test of this study used the T-test because the data was normally distributed with a p-value> 0.05. The results of this study obtained a significance value of systolic and diastolic pressure in the intervention group p-value = 0.000, while in the control group the significance value of systolic blood pressure p-value = 0.000 and diastolic pressure p-value = 0.048. So it can be stated that the decrease in blood pressure in the intervention group was more optimal than in the control group. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving a combination of elderly exercise and antihypertensive drugs on the blood pressure of elderly people with hypertension

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that requires family assistance in the treatment process. At this time, the patient's family will feel anxious, so there is a need for family-centred care (FCC). Fulfillment of FCC will have an impact on satisfaction for patients, families and health workers. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between family centered care and satisfaction and anxiety of families of pulmonary TB patients in the pulmonary ward of Jend General Hospital. Ahmad Yani Metro. This type of research is quantitative descriptive correlation research design, with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were families of pulmonary TB patients with a sample of 80 people using a total sampling technique. Analysis of this data was carried out using the chi square test and gamma correlation test, where the results of the family centered care distribution were mostly in the good category, 60 (75%), satisfaction in the satisfied category, 68 (85%), in the mild anxiety category, 40 (60%). The results of bivariate analysis show that there is a relationship between family centered care and family satisfaction of pulmonary TB patients with a p-value of 0,000. And there is a relationship between family centered care and family anxiety, with a p-value of 0,003, with a correlation level of 0,578, which means a positive relationship at a moderate level. Suggestions from the results of this research can provide input to focus on services that involve families and can work together between patient family members and nurses to provide effective and efficient health services.

Abstract

Catcalling or verbal harassment in public spaces is a phenomenon often experienced by women, including female students, which can have a negative impact on their mental health and self-confidence. This study aims to analyze the relationship between catcalling experiences, mental health, and self-confidence in female students of Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 30 female students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, Pearson correlation tests, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that catcalling had a significant effect on self-confidence with a Pearson correlation value of 0.687 (p <0.05), which indicated a negative impact, especially on women. In addition, mental health was also shown to significantly affect self-confidence (r count = 0.493, p <0.05), where individuals with good mental health tend to have higher self-confidence. Repeated catcalling significantly decreases mental health, which ultimately has a negative impact on self-confidence. These findings underscore the importance of preventive and intervention efforts to protect female students from catcalling and raise public awareness of its impact. This study provides recommendations for campuses to create a safe environment and support female students' mental well-being and self-confidence.
