Abstract

The population of this research was the customers of PT Bank BPD Bali, who reside in various areas across Bali. The sample of the population was selected using judgmental sampling, in which the customers were grouped into individual customers and institution customers (province and regency administrations, LPD, Non-profit Organizations, Corporates) at the bank’s principal branch offices and branch offices all over Bali. The number of the samples, 175 respondents, had met the requirement for maximum probability estimation. Struktural Equation Model Estimation was carried out through full-model analysis to find out about the model’s suitability and the established causal relation in the tested model. The test confirmed the first hypothesis, which stated that the customers’ perspective exerts a significant influence on the design of the marketing strategy. The test also validate the second hypothesis, which stated that the customers’ preferences have a significant influence on the design of the marketing strategy. The third hypothesis, which stated that the design of the marketing strategy has a beneficial influence upon the marketing mix strategy, had also been corroborated with the test. The results of the test supported the theory presented by David W. Cravens dan Nigel F. Piercy (2003) on the marketing strategy process. The theory espoused that the activities to adopt the customers’ perspectives and preferences, in order to find out about their wants and needs, and the activities to devise a marketing strategy design, and the activities to implement the marketing mix strategy, should be treated as integrated activities because the three of them were one unified and comprehensive marketing strategy. The results of this research are expected to provide the management of this Bank with a source of inspiration to be more pro-active in managing customeroriented marketing strategies. It can be achieved by conducting a more integrated marketing activities based on a marketing strategy process. This marketing strategy should also be developed in BPD all across Indonesia as a strategic response to create a sustainable competitive edge in the increasingly competitive world of today’s banking sector. Keywords: customers’ perspectives, customers’ preferences, marketing strategy.

Abstract

This research aims at discovering the influence of some antecedent variables, namely apparatus culture, apparatus personality, and regulations, on two endogenous variables of conflict and local government performance during the conflicts between the provincial and regency/city governments in North Maluku. This study employed two research methods. The first was a quantitative data analysis, which served as the primary method, using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The second was a qualitative analysis using an interactive method. The interactive method was carried out with an in-depth study on the interviews with some local figures. Data analysis was done in several stages, i.e.: data collection, data reduction, data display, and data interpretation. The study reveals the following findings. 1) Apparatus culture, apparatus personality, and regulations have a direly and significant impact on the conflict between the local authorities in North Maluku. The relation direction between the three exogenous variables and conflict is negative, which means that low exogenous variables results in more conflicts. 2) The apparatus culture and personality directly and significantly affect government performance. Regulations also directly influence performance, but the influence is not significant. The positive relation direction implies that negative apparatus culture and personality will result in a poor government performance. 3) Conflicts between the local authorities have a direct and significant impact on their performance. The relation between the variables is negative, which means more conflicts will decrease performance. Keywords: Culture, Apparatus, Personality Apparatus, Regulation, Conflict, Performance, Local Autonomy.

Purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of service quality dimensions, which include physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, on customer satisfaction of BPR X customers, Malang District. The research method is using explanatory research which defines the casualistic relation between variables by hypothesis tests. Population in this research is 171 micro business owners who are the common credit/loan users of BPR X, Malang District. Using Slovin formula and probability simple random-sampling method, samples of 64 respondents are generated, data are collected using questionnaire, then processed using multiple linear regression analysis. Findings show that physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy affect customer satisfaction simultaneously. Partially physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness and assurance affect the customer satisfaction, while empathy doesn’t affect the customer satisfaction. The dominant variable is assurance. These findings are hoped to be an input for BPR management in Malang District to increase the service quality dimension in order to increase customer satisfaction. Keywords: physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, servqual, customer satisfaction

Abstract

This study used mixed methods: Grounded Theory of Mode 2 which focused on application for management science and supported by Experimental Design. It is resulted ” A Competitive Stakeholder Theory” with Theoretical Propositions are 1) CSR (Triple Bottom Line philosophy) and Stakeholder Theory are competing theories considered as strategic management to achieve objectives through value maximizing. The goal of Stakeholder Theory is pro all stakeholders involved. Every stakeholder including shareholder shares and creates values together which are useful for themselves. 2) Stakeholder Theory is a dynamic process that contributed by Power and Control of Stakeholders embedded in ethics/philosophy; Existing Issues; Cost Effective Strategies; Moral and Trust; PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act); Recognition and Creating Values. They are a continuous process and have an interrelated relationship. In addition, pre and post interventions in society showed dramatically in reducing communicable diseases. Workplace performed high productivity among workers. Good overall score of Malcolm Baldrige Score Card indicated the quality management of this CSR was in place. It is suggested this Stakeholder Theory would be applied at stable situation and at unstable situation such as uncertainty, turbulence, limited resources, remote areas, minimizing risk and issues of social responsibility. Although the CSR implemented in exploration phase or has not produced yet, there would be value creation for all stakeholders involved particularly community. Keywords: CSR, Stakeholder Theory, Competitive, Value Maximizing
