Abstract

Low oil price environment impacted to business of Oil and Gas Company including PT. SDEC. However, PT. SDEC was able securing limited and fixed capital budget to drill well and had committed to drill certain well number to Government of Indonesia. When the initial 12 wells were completed with longer cycle time (average 9.9 days/well) than business plan (7.5 days/well) and also higher cost, the problem became more complex because company need to complete well as per commitment and in other hand no additional capital will be spent by parent company if actual expenditure exceeded the initial budget. Company assigned a team to solve the problem through Lean Six Sigma. Through strong collaboration among team, the project execution performance was improved (the Cp of drilling cycle time was improved from 0.06 to 1.08). As the result of this project save cost around $ 2.8 million.

Abstract

Sustainability concept often used by big companies to help them sustain through the uncertainty of industrial’s scene. This research aims to design a precise guideline of how to implement sustainability concept by considering economic, environment, and social aspect as the main components of sustainability. Lean, green, and agile manufacturing will represent each aspect and will be used as primary indicators to contrive the concept’s guideline. VIKOR analysis was used to assign enablers and barriers of each indicator. This research was conducted at PT. XYZ Tbk, one of the national leading company in producing timber products such as plywood, fiberboard, and blockboard. As a result, This research proposed several alternative strategies based on selected enablers and barriers. The selected enablers are employee involvement, core competency, people and information, resource efficiency, and the selected barriers are lack of knowledge about lean, high short-term cost, power shortage, and lack of awareness.

Abstract

Manufacturing organizations faces many changes along with the occurrence of environmental changes, it comes from internal and external sources. Innovation become one of the keywords to help the organizations be more competitive, such as doing product development. First, digging through from the survey, the customer’s needs as the initial planning phase, concept development, system level design, detail design, test and reparation details among the beginning of production. During the product development process, the Organization has not identified the potential waste in detail yet at each stage of product development. Moreover, the repair process becomes less effective. By using this concept, it will help in potential waste identify. The results showed that the stage of concept development had the highest frequency, for instance the common of lacking information related to the customers need products information which will be developed. Then, frequency is happened on the stage of the testing, and refinement, detail design, system level design and planning. Through the concept of lean VSM can be known by using a value of VA 53%, NVA 29% and 18% Waste, time to market can be shortened 18% or 47 days from early 262 days be 215 days.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country which becomes the third largest producer of rice in the world. However, Indonesia still carries out rice importing and the rice is classified high-priced. One of the factors causing those problems is the lack of efficiency of rice milling process. Pandeglang Regency is a region which has the largest rice field in Banten. As the largest agricultural territory and a qualified rice producer, it must be possible to have rice-milling means. The rice-milling process does not always produce a constant output amounts, it can be increased or decreased, despite the use of a constant input amounts. Thus, efficiency measuring of rice-milling process is needed to find out the output increase or input decrease used in rice-milling process in order to reach an efficient point. Method applied in measuring the efficiency is AHP/DEA method. Based on acquired research results, the efficiency level at the research location was 90.01% in which from 11 rice-milling processes there was one inefficient rice-milling process which was the C rice-milling process.Keyword: AHP/DEA; efficiency; inefficiency; rice milling process.

Abstract

Malang city, East Java has several modern Islamic boarding schools that carry out an integrated education curriculum between religious, national and international curricula. In order to support its education process, the schools provide modern facilities in the form of multi-storey buildings. In an Islamic boarding school, it has 6 storey buildings with a height of 3 until 5 floors that must be managed. The school also has to educate around 430 female students and 345 male students in different areas. Emergency response simulation is a crucial activity for the students not only to educate how to respond to an emergency situation but also to evaluate the protection facilities in the school. This research was conducted to identify the students’ knowledge before and after the emergency response simulation and its relationship with the satisfaction of the simulation. A descriptive research method was carried out and the data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire with 100 respondents from female and male students. The results of the questionnaire that had been obtained were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis test with AMOS version 23 application. The results of SEM analysis test on the covariance table produced P-Value of <0.01; hence, there is a correlation between the Pre Test and the Post Test results. The results of the linear regression test using ANOVA showed that all independent variables (Pre Test result) have an influence on the Post Test results at 0.396 or 39.6%.

Abstract

The development of technology in connectivity makes significant increase of online transactions. The online transaction in cosmetics takes the third place of all online transactions in Indonesia. Many business people dealing in cosmetics to switch to online business, known as electronic commerce (e-commerce). There are 3 types of e-commerce: Business to Consumer (B2C), Business to Business (B2B), and Consumer to Consumer (C2C). E-commerce site B2C type is the biggest e-commerce transaction. The tough competition in Indonesia has made the B2C sites suffer loss in the competition to the C2C sites. Use of a site is closely related to user experience. This research aims to evaluate the user experiences of two B2C sites, i.e. SE and SO as well as the C2C site SH. This research was done by giving scenario Taska in line with the available features. Based on the research, SH was superior compared to SE and SO.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimum process parameters in producing plastic bag in the application of Blown Film Extrusion Process. It is very critical to enhance product quality by optimizing the parameter, since preventing defected product not only can minimize cost but also can attract more customer. Recycled High Density PolyEthyelene (rHDPE) was studied in this experiment which widely used in both industry appliance and household. In accordance with the purpose of this research mentioned above, Six Sigma and Taguchi were adopted to define which factors and levels affected the quality of product, namely extruder temperature, extruder rotation, winder rotation, and take up rotation. The orthogonal array of Taguchi’s L 9 (3 4 ) was used to carry out the experimental plan. The effect of parameter was evaluated through weight measurement of specimen. The result of the study reveals that the quality of products were optimized under the process combination of extruder temperature 170ᵒC, 3,468 RPM screw rotation, rotation takes up 1,242 RPM, and winder rotation 1,620 RPM.
