Abstract

Abstract Performance appraisal is a key factor to develop an effective and efficient. Employees faced with a structured and systematic assessment to measure the achievements of the work. Unsatisfaction performance appraisal methods can be a polemical. It happens because of the gap between the expected value to the value of actual performance. Rating scale is one method affected bias and hallo effect. Therefore, it is necessary to design assessment methods better performance. The method of this research is 360 degree feedback. 360 degree feedback is methods in which employees receive confidential, anonymous feedback from the people who work around them. There are 24 employees were assessed in this study. The design competencies and sub-competencies in the performance appraisal form with a 360-degree feedback method prepared by adapting the managerial core competency.Based on 360 degree feedback method, there are many employees who get increased performance assessment compared to the previous assessment method. The increase was influenced by the contribution value of the co-workers, subordinates and themselves.

Abstract

Abstract Adi Bungsu (AB) Cigarette Company produces Clove Cigarette in four stages. Each stage is processed by one machine. Thus, the production line is described as flowshop. AB receive order from customer over country. Every month, AB should schedule the order from customer. Thus, AB should prioritize which order to be processed firstly. At this time, AB schedules their order by using First Come First Serve algorithm which prioritize the first order as the first processed job. Previously, this algorithm results in tardiness and high work-in-process. Therefore, this study aims to reduce the tardiness and work-in-process level. In this study, the scheduling problem is solved by using mixed integer programming. To minimize tardiness and work-in-process simultaneously, the objective include minimizing total tardiness and total flowtime. Meanwhile, this study also consider setup time separated from processing time so that setup can be done early while waiting job to be processed in previous stage. The results of this study show that mixed integer programming with two-criteria can be used to schedule job ordered by customer. In case of bicriteria scheduling problem with separated setup time, mixed integer programming generate better schedule than FCFS algorithm.

Abstract

Abstract The effort of searching about cheaper fuel alternative and environment friendly was solution for problem in rare fuel. This paper examine potential energy from renewable source. Design in reactor with 16m3 capacity for retain feces from 200 human. Based on calculation from the design, this reactor can produce biogas about 4m3/day. Air methane affected by ratio input of C/N (human fecess), time of residence, pH, temperature, and toxicity. Digester temperature about 25–27oC and pH 7–7,8 produced biogas with composition of methane air about 77%. For using this gas we need level of pressure 4 mm H2O and biogas level at 0.23 m3/hour. Beside this if we want for household activities for example cooking we need biogas 0.30 m3/hour with level pressure at  75 mmH2O. The analysis for effect on environment from mud that produced from reactor shown decreasing at COD about 90% from  new material condition. The comparing of  BOD/COD about  0,37 smaller than normal condition from liquid waste that have BOD/COD=0,5. And the other benefit we get analysis of composition N, P dan K shown same result that we get at fertilizer.

Abstract

Manual Materials Handling (MMH) activities still widely used in a job. This is because in this activity has a high flexibility, inexpensive, and easy to apply. However, these activities also constitute a risk when applied to the inadequate  environment, less support of tool, and bad posture of work. Therefore, measurement of safety limit in doing the job by using a calculation based on the equation of NIOSH Lifting Index. The case study at PT. Central protein Prima Surabaya is the removal of shrimp feed bag that still use manual way. Acquisition of STRWL calculation results obtained for the removal of shrimp feed bag stacks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 from 5,003 Kg to 67,41 Kg. Actual load which worker must lifted in this case study on a pile of 1 to 7 is 25 kg. Load  is lifted for the removal of shrimp feed bag bigger than STRWLmake it not feasible. CLI obtained in shrimp feed bag removal activity is 6.041 which value exceeds 3. Therefore CLI in this case study may create a risk of spinal cord injuries and to do their job changes. By measuring the changes in safety limits and do the work, expected reduced risk of injury to workers. After measuring the safe limit for the removal of bag obtained load is lifted workers have the risk of spinal injury, so it is given recommendations for improvement is by doing a redesign on a conveyor in the form of additional elevation (vertical) 57 cm at the end of the conveyor, as well as shortening the horizontal distance between the worker's body with a bag of shrimp feed time of transfer. With these recommendations obtained a decrease CLI becomes 1.795, which means that the risk of injury is between 1 <CLI ≤ 3 and can be reduced.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Productivity garment greatly influenced by the work station facilities and presence in the workplace. UD Aliya- Malang is one example as an object of research. Based on the results of the initial surveys and interviews conducted by the operator, there are a number of complaints were found among them is the problem of the narrow room, the buildup of working materials at the work station, lighting and air circulation is less to make the operator comfortable in work. Based on the results of measurements, conditions of work station at UD Aliya still less ergonomic, which if left unchecked can lead to many complaints and problems in the future. Improvement of  work station using Ergonomic Environment approach, the results can be obtained using the optimal amount of light for each work station, a reduction in noise levels, and improved air circulation using venilator turbine. As well as using ARC analysis, the results obtained are placement work station layout, the result is important juxtapose work station I and IV with the Warehouse. Keywords: Work Station, Activity Relationship Diagram, Environment Ergonomic

Abstract

Rapid urban growth has caused an increase of infrastructure and building construction projects in recent years in terms of project scale and number. Many of which certainly involve the construction of deep foundation, including pile foundation. In particularly densely populated urban areas, the need for more environmentally friendly pile driving equipment, such as hydraulic static pile driver (HSPD), is therefore inevitable. The aim of this study is to give a problem solving about HSPD productivity using analytical model. The objective of this study is to produce curves model of HSPD productivity. An analytical model has been designed utilizing 252 data of point piling from the four projects and simulation, i.e. size of driven piles, piling depth, and cycle time. The result of model is nomogram of HSPD productivity against piling depth for 3 driven pile size such as equilateral triangle 32 cm, square 25 cm, and square 30 cm. The model average validity is 96.07% and deviation standard is 2.32%. The sensitivity value 95.154% for equilateral triangle 32 cm, 9.376 for square 25 cm, and 94.298% for square 30 cm of driven pile.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of many paper manufacturing companies in East Java which produces Exercise Book. The company implements corrective engine maintenance system where new components replacement is done when the engine is damaged. This treatment system resulted in frequent engine sudden stopping. With so many breakdown frequencies resulting from the fact that the engine stops abruptly, the broken raw materials increases in number and causes losses for the company. To overcome that problem we need appropriate treatment strategies to minimize the frequency of breakdown. Another aim is to minimize downtime and maintenance costs incurred because of engine maintenance activity. There are 3 maintenance scenarios implemented to solve such problem, i.e. scenario based on the existing condition of the company, scenario of component replacement in accordance with Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) value, and scenario of component replacement when the reliability of the component has reached 70%. From those three scenarios we will manually carry out an interval maintenance planning and Monte Carlo simulation. The result of data processing shows that in order to minimize the number of Exercise Book engine breakdown we can apply the 3rd scenario namely the replacement of component when the reliability of component has reached 70%. To minimize the amount of downtime and maintenance costs appropriately we shall use scenario 2, namely the replacement of component based on the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) value.
