Abstract

Participants in the Independent Study MSIB Batch 5's #Tech4Impact Skilvul Program are encouraged to create digital solutions for social problems, such as reducing food waste.  A website-based e-commerce design was one of the first innovations to receive a 90 on the System Usability Scale (SUS).  Two drawbacks were identified during evaluations: the incentive elements lack clear visual cues, and the design is not yet responsive on mobile platforms.  Given the mobile-first trend and the critical role mobile applications play in delivering integrated, tailored, and practical transaction experiences, this poses a problem. The UI/UX design of the SaveBite mobile application is developed in this study by applying Gestalt Theory and Design Thinking.  Gestalt principles improve consistency, visual perception, and interface navigation, while Design Thinking guarantees that the design is focused on user needs.  The development is concentrated on making the reward elements more user-friendly and enhancing the mobile experience. With an average SEQ of 6.7 (or 95.7% ease of use) and a SUS score of 81.0, usability testing findings demonstrate a significant improvement over the prior website design.  These results show that the prototype provides a reasonable degree of responsiveness, clarity, and comfort. This study shows the potential for increased user adoption while helping create mobile-based digital solutions to food waste problems.  In the future, this application might be fully developed for community use, leveraging digital technology to reduce food waste sustainably.

Abstract

The STEBI Bina Essa Sharia Cooperative offers a range of everyday necessities for its members and the general public, including products from small and medium-sized enterprises and those manufactured by its members.  Nonetheless, other obstacles persist in its operations, including inefficient record-keeping procedures, potential data inaccuracies, misplaced documents, and manual promotional and sales efforts.  Moreover, the personal selling mechanism complicates matters for consumers at a distance, as they must visit the cooperative in person and pay in cash.  This research aims to build and develop a web-based online store for the STEBI Bina Essa Sharia Cooperative.  The author utilizes the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) technique in this study.  The findings suggest that sales may be executed online.  Suggestions for enhancing the online shop design for the STEBI Bina Essa Sharia Cooperative include using larger datasets, specifically through the implementation of a Cloud VPS.

Abstract

With the rising demand for digital services, industries such as barbershops must utilize technology to improve service efficiency, especially in controlling customer lineups.  Kabarbershop currently uses a manual queueing system, resulting in unpredictable wait times, potential customer attrition, and inaccuracies in documentation.  This study creates a web-based Online Reservation System that uses the First Come First Served (FCFS) algorithm to efficiently and equitably manage queues.  The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, using a Waterfall development strategy.  The system is architected with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and developed using Next.js for the frontend, Tailwind CSS for a responsive UI, ExpressJS for the backend, and MongoDB as the database.  Essential features include online bookings, wait-time assessment, WhatsApp alerts, and an administrative dashboard.  Findings from black box testing demonstrate that all functionalities perform as anticipated.  This system aims to improve operational efficiency, minimize customer attrition, and offer a more convenient and transparent reservation experience.

Abstract

This research addresses the critical issue of understanding the determinants of marketing's impact on visitor satisfaction. The study aims to explore how various relationship marketing dimensions influence guest satisfaction in the context of hostels in Bandung. To achieve this goal, the authors employed a survey approach, collecting data from 100 hostel visitors who had made at least two visits. The researchers utilized predictive testing through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), a methodology commonly applied in marketing and management studies. The findings reveal that relationship marketing, encompassing financial bonds, social bonds, and structural bonds, has a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction. This study offers novelty by linking distinct dimensions of relationship marketing directly to visitor satisfaction in an under-researched area. The implications of these results suggest that hostel managers should focus on enhancing relationship marketing strategies to improve visitor experiences and ensure customer loyalty.

Abstract

Teachers have a responsibility to monitor students, particularly given the constraints in supervising them during extracurricular activities such as scouting.  This research aims to develop a mobile application to track student engagement in scouting activities, employing a descriptive-qualitative methodology through data collection via observation, interviews, and literature reviews.  The application is built on the AppSheet online platform and integrates with Google Drive as a database, using spreadsheets for data management.  The research findings demonstrate that a student monitoring application is crucial for individual and institutional requirements.  For future development, the application must be designed for simplicity to ensure accessibility for all users, with data presented in a manner that is comprehensible to educators.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease ranks among the primary causes of mortality in Indonesia.  An expedient and precise diagnostic method is crucial, particularly in primary healthcare settings such as Klinik Mitra Lewo, which face constraints on medical personnel.  This research aims to develop a web-based expert system using the Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) methodology to support preliminary diagnosis of heart disease based on a patient's symptom history.  The CBR approach functions by juxtaposing new patient symptoms with historical cases via the stages of Retrieve, Reuse, Revise, and Retain.  This system is developed using an Object-Oriented Software Engineering (OOSE) methodology and implemented in PHP using the CodeIgniter framework.  System testing employs black-box testing techniques to verify that each functionality satisfies user requirements.  The research findings demonstrate that the system can offer pertinent initial diagnostic recommendations and assist medical professionals in decision-making.  Consequently, an expert system can be a valuable asset in healthcare, especially when medical resources are constrained.

Abstract

Blockchain technology has evolved from a nascent peer-to-peer payment system into a paradigm-shifting digital trust infrastructure, fundamentally challenging conventional centralised models. However, a deep understanding of the fundamental technical aspects behind the popularity of crypto assets remains limited. This study aims to: (1) analyse the fundamental architecture of blockchain; (2) evaluate tokenisation mechanisms; and (3) conduct a comparative analysis of its characteristics against traditional database systems. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method utilising a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to synthesise technical literature published between 2023 and 2025. The analysis focuses on consensus mechanisms, the architectural transition from monolithic to modular systems (Layer-2 scaling), and the measurement of decentralisation using the Nakamoto Coefficient. The results indicate that: (1) blockchain offers distinct advantages in data integrity (immutability) and censorship resistance through a distributed append-only ledger structure, standing in sharp contrast to the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) model of relational databases; and (2) recent innovations such as Zero-Knowledge Proofs and Optimistic Rollups serve as critical solutions to the "Blockchain Trilemma" (balancing scalability, security, and decentralization). This study concludes that blockchain is not an absolute replacement for conventional databases, but rather a specialised solution for ecosystems that require high transparency and "trustless" interactions without a central authority.

Abstract

This study uses a palm image dataset to be used as training data and test data and the software used is the Python Programming Language and the OpenCV library which is quite light in processing on Google Collaboratory. The image data used is a palm image dataset from Kaggle which is open access to the public, the image data is then subjected to feature extraction using the Canny Edge Detection method with Euclidean distance calculations to see the edges of the object lines in the training image to clearly obtain the hand object that will be classified to see anthropometrically whether the palm is small, medium, and large. Grouping of 3 classes of palm size uses the K-Means method combined with the Silhouette Score to evaluate the results obtained. From a successful experiment, the Silhouette results show a score of 0.61, which means good.

Abstract

Understanding student learning behavior is essential for developing effective instructional strategies and improving academic evaluation systems in higher education. This study aims to identify and characterize student learning behavior patterns using a clustering approach based on academic assessment data recorded in the Academic Information System (SIAKAD). To capture stable and long-term learning behavior tendencies, this research utilizes longitudinal academic records collected over eight consecutive semesters. The analyzed learning behavior attributes include assignment scores, quiz results, midterm examination scores, final examination scores, and attendance rates. The K-Means clustering algorithm was applied following data preprocessing and z-score standardization, while the optimal number of clusters was determined using the silhouette coefficient. The results reveal three distinct learning behavior patterns, namely students with low learning engagement, students with moderate engagement characterized by an exam-oriented learning strategy, and students with high and consistent learning engagement across learning activities.

Abstract

This study employed the Technology Adoption Model (TAM) to evaluate students' utilization of the Accurate-5 accounting software at SMA Negeri 1 Lembang, Bandung. The study aims to evaluate user satisfaction levels and determine the influencing factors. The study utilizes Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PE) as independent variables, Behavioral Intention to Use (BIU) as a mediating variable, and Actual System Use (AU) as the dependent variable. The researcher employed SmartPLS version 4 to analyze and assess the data. The results demonstrate enhanced reliability and validity, as evidenced by high Cronbach's alphas and composite validity scores, with an Average Variance Extracted (AVE) exceeding 0.5. Hypothesis testing using P-values demonstrates that Perceived Ease of Use significantly influences Behavioral Intention to Use (P < 0.05$). Conversely, Perceived Usefulness exerts no significant influence on Behavioral Intention to Use (P > 0.05$). Furthermore, Behavioral Intention to Use significantly influences Actual System Use (P < 0.05$). Based on T-statistics and P-values, Perceived Usefulness directly affects Actual System Use (T > 1.96, P < 0.05$), whereas Perceived Ease of Use does not exert a direct influence (T < 1.96, P > 0.05$).
