Abstract

Media comic math berbasis wihiteboard animation ini diharapkan dapat mempermudah guru dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran matematika. Selain itu media ini diharapkan mampu memotivasi siswa untuk belajar lebih aktif dalam rangka pengembangan media pembelajaran matematika untuk memperkuat karakter positif peserta didik dalam memahami konsep matematika dengan memanfatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RD). Metode yang digunakan adalah uji coba produk, yang dilakukan dalam beberpa tahap, antara lain: (1) Tahap Analisis Potensi dan Masalah, (2) Tahap Pengembangan, tahap pengembangan dilakukan berupa mendesain produk media pembelajaran dan validasi desain produk. (3) Tahap Ujicoba Produk, tahap uji coba produk dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk dan efektifitas hasil belajar. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik angket, wawancara, dan tes. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan dua teknik analisis data, yaitu teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitianmenunjukan bahawa media comic math berbasis whiteboard animation layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika disekolah. Dan pembelajaran menggunakan media comic math berbasis whiteboard animation pada materi geometri bangun datar sangat efektif. Comic math media based on whiteboard animation in math AbstractComic math media based wihiteboard animation is expected to facilitate teachers in delivering mathematics lessons. In addition, this media is expected to motivate students to learn more actively in order to develop the media of learning mathematics to strengthen the positive character of learners in understanding the concept of mathematics by utilizing science and technology. This type of research is Research and Development (R D). The method used is product trial, done in some stage, among others: (1) Potential Analysis Stage and Problem, (2) Development Stage, development stage done in the form of product instructional media design and product design validation. (3) Stage of Product Testing, product trial stage is performed to determine the feasibility of the product and the effectivnesse learning outcome. Data collection in this study using questionnaires, interviews, and tests. In this study used two data analysis techniques, namely qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that comic math media based on whiteboard animation is feasible for use in the process of learning mathematics in school. And learning using comic math media based on whiteboard animation on flat wake geometry material is very effective.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology offers many advantages to the proses of learning in the classroom. This experimental research aimed to investigates the effectiveness of learning mathematics delivered through blended learning. In particular, this study compared the effectiveness of blended learning using Moodle and traditional one in relation to students’ conceptual understanding. The data was gathered through written test and interview. This study involved 127 students of grade eight secondary school. The data shows that students who learn in blended learning approach have better conceptual understanding rather than their counterparts. The students claim that they can access learning material and revisit some difficult material in their convenience time. Nevertheless, there are some obstacles faced by students related to maintaining their motivation to learn independently and keeping distraction off to access other website when they learn online.Key words: blended learning, conceptual understanding

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pendekatan problem-based learning (PBL) setting think talk write (TTW) dan problem-based learning (PBL) setting think pair share (TPS) serta mendeskripsikan perbedaan keefektifan antara PBL setting TTW dan PBL setting TPS ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes prestasi belajar, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan angket self-efficacy siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan menggunakan one sample t-test, dan analisis multivariat (MANOVA). One sample t-test dilakukan untuk menguji keefektifan pendekatan PBL setting TTW dan keefektifan pendekatan PBL setting TPS, sedangkan analisis multivariat (MANOVA) dilakukan untuk menguji perbedaan keefektifan antara kedua treatment tersebut ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PBL setting TTW dan pendekatan PBL setting TPS efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa. Selain itu hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan yang signifikan antara pendekatan PBL setting TTW dengan pendekatan PBL setting TPS ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa. The Effectiveness of PBL Setting TTW and TPS Seen from Students Learning Achievement, Critical Thinking and Self-Efficacy  AbstractThis study aims to describe the effectiveness of problem-based learning (PBL) setting think talk write (TTW) and PBL setting think pair share (TPS) and describe the difference of the effectiveness between PBL setting TTW and PBL setting TPS in terms of learning achievements, critical thinking ability and self-efficacy of grade students. This research is quasi-experimental research. The research instruments to collect the data are a learning achievement test, a test to examine the ability to think critically and a self-efficacy questionnaire. One sample t-test was conducted to examine the effectiveness PBL setting TTW and PBL setting TPS. Meanwhile, multivariate test (MANOVA) was carried out to determine the difference between PBL setting TTW and PBL setting TPS. The results show that both PBL setting TTW and PBL setting TPS are effective in terms of students learning achievements, critical thinking ability, and self-efficacy and there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of PBL setting TTW and the effectiveness of PBL setting TPS in terms of learning achievements, critical thinking ability and student self-efficacy.

Abstract

Pada konteks penilaian berskala internasional seperti PISA, kompetensi pemecahan masalah dalam bidang matematika dan sains terkait permasalahan nyata merupakan fokus pengembangan kompetensi representasi dan literasi matematis siswa. Mengingat pentingnya pemecahan masalah, kemampuan representasi dan literasi matematis, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan problem solving terhadap kemampuan representasi dan literasi matematis siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen kuasi (quasi experimental), dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Randomized Posttest-Only Control Group Design, yakni dua kelas yang telah dipilih secara acak, selanjutnya diberikan perlakukan yang diakhiri dengan tes kemampuan representasi dan literasi matematis pada kedua kelas tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil kajian dan analisis data dengan bantuan SPSS 24, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan problem solving berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan representasi dan literasi matematis siswa SMP, khususnya di kelas VIII SMP Negeri Banjarmasin. Terlihat jelas perbedaan cara menyelesaikan masalah yang diujikan kepada siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Melalui pendekatan problem solving, terbukti dapat menjadikan siswa terbiasa ketika menjumpai soal-soal pemecahan masalah selevel PISA atau TIMSS.The effect of problem solving approach to the ability mathematic representation and literature students AbstractIn the context of international scale assessment such as PISA, problem-solving competence in the field of mathematics and science related to real problems is the focus of developing students' mathematical representation competence and literacy. Given the importance of problem solving, the ability of representation and mathematical literacy, this study aims to determine the effect of problem solving approach on the ability of representation and mathematical literacy of junior high school students. The method used in this research is quasi experimental method, with the research design used is Randomized Posttest-Only Control Group Design, ie two classes that have been chosen randomly, then given treatment which ends with the test of representation ability and mathematical literacy in both classes. Based on the results of study and data analysis with the help of SPSS 24, it can be concluded that mathematics learning with problem solving approach affects the ability of representation and mathematical literacy of junior high school students, especially in class VIII SMP Negeri Banjarmasin. There is a clear difference in how to solve the problems tested to the experiment class and control class students. Through the problem solving approach, it is proven to make the students accustomed when encountering problem solving problems at PISA or TIMSS level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang diadaptasi dari model CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, dan Extending) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa. Pengembangan perangkat menggunakan model pengembangan Borg dan Gall yang dimodifikasi oleh peneliti dengan tahapan: (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan rancangan produk awal, (4) uji coba terbatas, (5) revisi tahap I, (6) uji coba operasional, (7) revisi tahap II, dan (8) desiminasi produk akhir. Uji coba produk dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Prambanan Sleman dengan melibatkan 52 siswa dan seorang guru matematika. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri atas lembar validasi, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian guru terhadap kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran, angket penilaian siswa terhadap kepraktisan LKS dan proses pembelajaran, dan angket efikasi diri siswa dalam belajar geometri. Hasil penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri dari RPP dan LKS dengan mengadaptasi model pembelajaran CORE yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri siswa.This research aimed to produce a valid, practical, and effective learning kits adapted from CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) model to improve student’s self-efficacy. The development refered to the modified Borg and Gall model which consists of: (1) preliminary studies, (2) plan, (3) initial product design development, (4) limited trial, (5) revision phase I, (6) operational trials, (7) revision phase II, dan (8) final product dissemination. The product was implemented at SMA Negeri 1 Prambanan Sleman which involved 52 students and the mathematics teacher. The instruments used in this research were validation sheets, the observation sheet of learning implementation, an evaluation sheet for practicality of lesson plans and worksheets by the teacher, the questionnaire for practicality of worksheets and learning process, and student’s self-efficacy in geometry learning questionnaire. The result was a valid, practical, and effective learning kits which consist of lesson plans and worksheets adapted from CORE instructional model to improve self-efficacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan muatan penalaran dan pembuktian matematis pada buku teks matematika SMA kelas X Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif jenis analisis isi. Sumber data penelitian adalah buku teks Matematika kelas X Kurikulum 2013 edisi revisi 2016 yang diterbitkan oleh Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan Balitbang Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah pembacaan dan pencatatan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang telah divalidasi berupa pedoman analisis dokumen. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan skema Kripendorff yang meliputi pengumpulan data, penentuan sampel, perekaman/pencatatan, reduksi, penarikan kesimpulan dan narasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada bagian materi, siswa memiliki kesempatan yang besar untuk menalar dan membuktikan melalui membaca justifikasi namun memiliki kesempatan yang kecil melalui pengembangan justifikasi. Pada soal evaluasi, siswa belum memiliki kesempatan untuk menalar dan membuktikan melalui pengerjaan soal dengan indikator mengevaluasi argumen. Artinya, buku teks belum sepenuhnya memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk belajar menalar dan membuktikan. AbstractThis study aimed to describe the content of mathematical reasoning and proof in the high school mathematics textbooks 10th grade Curriculum 2013. This research used descriptive qualitative approach type of content analysis. The source of research data was the high school mathematics textbook of 10th grade Curriculum 2013 edition of revision 2016 published by Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. Data collection techniques in this study was the reading and recording using instruments that had been validated in the form of document analysis guidelines. Research data was analyzed using Kripendorff scheme which included unitizing, sampling, recording/coding, reducing, inferring and narrating. The results showed that in the learning material section students had big opportunities to learn reasoning and proof through justification reading, but they had small opportunities in justification developing. In evaluation section, students had not opportunities to learn reasoning and proof through argument evaluation problem solving. Therefore, the textbook had not fully provided opportunities for students to learn reasoning and proof.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembel-ajaran aljabar menggunakan problem solving dalam problem posing berbasis pendekatan saintifik yang valid, praktis dan efektif ditinjau dari keyakinan terhadap pelajaran matematika (KTM) dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif (KBK) siswa SMA. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model Plomp. Hasil penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran aljabar menggunakan problem solving dalam problem posing berbasis pendekatan saintifik yang berorientasi pada keyakinan terhadap pelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMA berupa RPP dan LKS. Kualitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari aspek kevalidan, aspek kepraktisan dan aspek keefektifan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa RPP dan LKS valid dan layak digunakan. Aspek kepraktisan berdasarkan penilaian guru terhadap RPP dan LKS adalah baik, dan skor kepraktisan berdasarkan hasil penilaian siswa adalah baik, dan persentase keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yaitu sangat baik untuk kelas XI IPA PI dan sangat baik untuk kelas XI IPA PA. Hasil angket KTM dan tes KBK juga mencapai kategori tinggi dan baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, perangkat pembelajaran telah memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Developing algebra learning kits using problem solving approach in problem posing approach based on scientific approach AbstractThis study aimed to produce algebra learning kits using problem solving approach in problem posing approach based on scientific approach which was valid, practical, and effective viewed from belief in math and creative thinking skill of senior high school. This study was research and development which used Plomp’s model. The results of the research were algebra learning kits using problem solving approach in problem posing approach based on scientific approach oriented to belief in math and creative thinking skill for senior high school which consisted of lesson plans and students worksheets. The quality of learning kits developed to cover all aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The assessment result for validity of the lesson plans and students’ worksheets was valid and proper to use. The assessment result for practicality aspect based on teacher assessment about lesson plans and students’ worksheets was good. The assesment result for practicality aspect based on students assesment was good. Meanwhile, enforceability of learning with an average is very good) for class XI IPA PI and very good for class XI IPA PA. The result of belief in math questionaire and creative thinking test reach high and good category. Based on those results, the learning kits that has been developed was valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Keberhasilan seseorang dalam memecahkan masalah, salah satunya bergantung pada kesadarannya tentang apa yang ia ketahui dan bagaimana ia menerapkannya. Kesadaran seseorang tentang proses berpikirnya sendiri disebut metakognisi. Selain itu, diperlukan Adversity Quotient (AQ) dalam memecahkan masalah untuk mengubah kesulitan menjadi peluang keberhasilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses metakognisi mahasiswa yang ditinjau dari AQ. Subjek penelitian adalah 3 mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana yang memiliki AQ berbeda yaitu climbers, campers dan quitters. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis, think aloud, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas metakognisi jenis awareness, evaluation, dan regulation terjadi pada semua subjek saat proses pemecahan masalah. Metakognisi membuat subjek tipe climbers memahami bagaimana mencapai tujuan dengan memeriksa keberhasilan pada setiap langkah proses pemecahan masalah. Metakognisi membantu subjek tipe campers mengenali keberadaan masalah dengan menyadari pola yang seharusnya diterapkan pada langkah perpindahan. Selain itu, metakognisi membuat pikiran subjek tipe quitters menjadi lebih efektif dengan mencari pola-pola untuk membuat langkah perpindahan dan cara mengevaluasi serta membantu memahami apa sebenarnya masalah.One's success in solving problems, one of which depends on his awareness of what he knows and how he applies it. A person's awareness of his own thought process is called metacognition. In addition, Adversity Quotient (AQ) is needed in solving problems to turn difficulties into opportunities for success. This study aims to describe the student's metacognition process in terms of AQ. The research subjects were 3 students in Satya Wacana Christian University in Mathematics Education who had different AQs, namely climbers, campers and quitters. Data collection in this study was conducted using a written test, think aloud, and interview. The results showed that metacognition activities of the type of awareness, evaluation, and regulation occur in all subjects during the problem solving process. Metacognition made climers type subjects understood how to achieve goals by checking success at each step of the problem solving process. Metacognition helped campers type subjects recognized the existence of a problem by realizing the pattern that should be applied to the movement step. In addition, metacognition made the quitters-type subject's mind more effective by looking for patterns to make the move and how to evaluate and help understand what the problem is.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan kognitif matematika, task commitment, dan hubungan antara kemampuan kognitif matematika dan task commitment siswa Kelas Khusus Olahraga (KKO) SMA negeri se-DIY. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa KKO kelas X SMA negeri se-DIY yang berjumlah 319 siswa. Sampel sejumlah 132 siswa yang terbagi dalam 8 sekolah penyelenggara kelas KKO se-DIY ditentukan dengan teknik sampel acak proporsional sistematik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kognitif matematika siswa KKO SMA negeri se-DIY dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata 40,62 dari nilai tertinggi ideal 100, task commitment siswa KKO SMA negeri se-DIY dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata 95,63 dari nilai tertinggi ideal 150, dan terdapat hubungan yang cukup kuat antara kemampuan kognitif matematika dan task commitment siswa KKO SMA negeri se-DIY. Hal ini dibuktikan dari nilai koefisien kontingensi = 0,328 yang berada pada interval 0,30-0,59 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,05. An analysis of mathematical cognitive abilities based on task commitment of senior high school athlete students AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe the mathematical cognitive abilities, the task commitment, and  the relationship between mathematical cognitive abilities and task commitment of athlete students in Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. This study was survey research. The population of this study was 319 grade X athlete students of senior high school. A sample of 132 students were established using the systematical proportional random sampling technique. The results of this study showed that the mathematical cognitive abilities of athlete students in Special Region of Yogyakarta was in the medium category with the mean score 40.62 from the ideal score of 100, the task commitment of athlete students in Special Region of Yogyakarta was in the medium category with the mean score 95.63 from the ideal value 150, and there was a moderate association between mathematical cognitive abilities and task commitment of athlete students in Special Region of Yogyakarta. It could be seen by the value of contingency coefficient = 0.328 which was in interval 0.30 to 0.59 and a significance value of 0.05.
