Abstract

The study of research and development of student worksheets based on multiple representations with SiMaYang Type II to emerge students mental model and acid base concept mastery have been conducted. After pre-research, the preliminary of student worksheets was developed and validated. The preliminary of student worksheets was tested finitely in the 11th grade of IPA 1 on SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung to measure the practicality and effectiveness of it. The result showed that the student worksheets have high validity, practicality, and effectiveness and the students have good-very good mental model and high n-Gain category of concept mastery.Telah dilakukan kajian tentang penelitian dan pengembangan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) berbasis multipel representasi dengan model SiMaYang Tipe II untuk menumbuhkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep asam basa. Setelah studi pendahuluan, LKS dikembangkan dan divalidasi. LKS kemudian diuji coba terbatas di kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung untuk mengukur kepraktisan dan keefektivannya. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa LKS memiliki validitas, kepraktisan dan keefektivan yang tinggi dan siswa memiliki model mental yang baik hingga sangat baik, serta penguasaan konsep dengan kategori n-Gain tinggi.Kata kunci: asam-basa, LKS, model mental, penguasaan konsep, SiMaYang Tipe II

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe effectiveness of empirical inductive learning cycle model in improving of critical thinking skills of students in sub skills of analyzing arguments.  Indicators of critical thinking skills studied were identifying conclusions and seeing similarities and differences. Population was all 170 students of Grade XI State Senior High School 3 in Kotabumi. Samples were 34 students in XI Sains 2 class and 34 students in XI Sains 3 class that have equal academic abilities. This was a quasi experiment research using non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of learning with empirical inductive learning cycle model was measured based on significant gain improvements of skill in analyzing arguments. The results showed that average value of n-Gain of skill in analyzing arguments in experiment and control classes were 0.62 and 0.42 respectively. The hypothesis result test showed that class which used empirical inductive learning cycle model had higher skill in analyzing arguments than class with conventional learning model. This indicated empirical inductive learning cycle model was effective to improve critical thinking of students in the acid base matery in state senior high school 3 in Kotabumi.Keywords: empirical inductive learning cycle, critical thinking skills of students

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the prediction and communication skills in the colloid material with using problem solving learning for cognitive group of high, medium, and low models.  This research was using pre-experimental method and one-shot case study design.  The result showed to predict skill for high group is 100 % a very good criteria, medium group is 52,94 % very good criteria; 41,18 % good criteria; and 5,88 % good enough criteria, while low group is 9,09 % very good criteria; 45,45 % good criteria; 27,27 % good enough criteria; and 18,18 % poor criteria.  The communicated for high group is 100 % very good criteria, medium group is 41,18 % very good criteria and 58,85 % good criteria, while low group is 9,09 % very good criteria; 45,45 % good criteria; and 45,45 % good enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan memprediksi dan mengkomunikasikan pada materi koloid dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem solving untuk kelompok kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan design one-shot case study.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada keterampilan memprediksi untuk kelompok tinggi 100 % berkriteria sangat baik, untuk kelompok sedang 52,94 % berkriteria sangat baik; 41,18 % berkriteria baik; dan 5,88 % berkriteria cukup, dan untuk kelompok rendah 9,09 % berkriteria sangat baik; 45,45 % berkriteria baik; 27,27 % berkriteria cukup; dan 18,18 % berkriteria kurang.  Pada keterampilan mengkomunikasikan untuk kelompok tinggi 100 % berkriteria sangat baik, untuk kelompok sedang 41,18 % berkriteria sangat baik dan 58,82 % berkriteria baik, dan untuk kelompok rendah 9,09 % berkriteria sangat baik; 45,45 % berkriteria baik; dan 45,45 % berkriteria cukup.Kata kunci :  kelompok kognitif, keterampilan memprediksi dan mengkomunikasikan, problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of LKS results of development, validity of LKS results of development, teacher and student responses to LKS results of development. The method used in this research is Borg and Gall research and development method which is only done until the first 5 stages. This research was conducted by involving teachers and students in Senior High School in Bandarlampung. Expert validation results on content conformity, construction, and legibility aspects are 93.93%, 95.56% and 95%, so it is valid. The percentage of teachers' response on contentness, readability, and construction aspects was 88.57%, 95.56%, and 95%, with very high criteria. Percentage of student responses on aspects of attractiveness and readability of 94.18%, and 93.85% with very high criteria. Based on these results then this LKS is made in order to become one of the learning media in school especially on the material of colloidal system.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik LKS hasil pengembangan, validitas LKS hasil pengembangan, tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap LKS hasil pengembangan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan Borg and Gall yang hanya dilakukan sampai 5 tahap pertama.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan guru dan siswa SMA di Bandarlampung. Hasil validasi ahli pada aspek kesesuaian  isi, konstruksi, dan keterbacaan diperoleh persentase sebesar 93,93%, 95,56%, dan 95%, sehingga dinyatakan valid. Persentase tanggapan guru pada aspek kesesuaian isi, keterbacaan, dan kontruksi sebesar 88,57%, 95,56%, dan 95%, dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Persentase tanggapan siswa pada aspek kemenarikan dan keterbacaan sebesar 94,18%, dan  93,85% dengan kriteria sangat tinggi.  Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka LKS ini dibuat guna menjadi salah satu media pembelajaran di sekolah khususnya pada materi sistem koloid.Kata Kunci : LKS, everyday life phenomenon, koloid

Abstract

The research was aimed to describe the effect of scaffolding strategy in SiMaYang learning to improve the chemical literacy skill and students metacognition on acid base topic. The research used Pretest-posttest Control Group Design method, which was conducted in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro with Cluster Random Sampling technique.The result showed that there was 85% improvement of chemical literacy and 95% improvement of students' metacognition in experimental class which was influenced by scaffolding strategy in SiMaYang learning and 74% improvement of chemical literacy and 87% improvement of students' metacognition in the control class which was influenced by SiMaYang learning with big category on acid base topic. Based on the research, it can be concluded that scaffolding strategy has big infuence in improving the chemical literacy in the experimental class and it has moderate influence in improving metacognition skill both in the experimental class and the control class where this effect sizes measures can be distinguished by the differences of students n-gain.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh scaffolding pada pembelajaran SiMaYang dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi kimia dan metakognisi siswa pada materi asam basa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pretest-posttest Control Group Design di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa terdapat 85% peningkatan literasi kimia dan 95% peningkatan metakognisi siswa kelas eksperimen dipengaruhi oleh strategi scaffolding dalam pembelajaran SiMaYang dan 74% peningkatan literasi kimia dan 87% peningkatan metakognisi siswa kelas kontrol dipengaruhi oleh pembelajaran SiMaYang pada materi asam basa. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa strategi scaffolding berpengaruh besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi kimia pada kelas eksperimen dan berpengaruh sedang pada kelas kontrol, serta pembelajaran SiMaYang berpengaruh besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan metakognisi pada kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol yang mana besarnya effect size ini dapat dibedakan berdasarkan hasil n-gain siswa.Kata kunci: effect size, scaffolding, SiMaYang, literasi kimia, metakognisi

Abstract

Abstract:The objective of this research is to describe effectiveness of Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique of cooperative learning model in improving electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions and redox reaction concept masteries. This research used quasi expewriment method with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Population in this research was all Grade X students in YP UNILA senior High School in Bandar Lampung from classroom X1 to X11 in event semester of academic year 2011/2012. Samples were classroom X3 and X4 as experiment classrooms using NHT learning model. Samples were selected using purposive sampling. Clasroom X4was selected as control by using conventional learning.The results showed that N-gain average values of concept masteries in experiment and control classrooms were 0.599 and -0.477 respectively. The hypothesis test results showed that the classrooms with NHT technique of cooperative learning model had higher levels of activities and concept masteries compared to classroom with conventional learning. The conclusion of this research was that the NHT technique of cooperative learning model was effective in improving electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions and redox reaction concept masteries. Keywords: NHT technique of cooperative learning model, activity and concept mastery

Abstract

The observation results showed that the average marks for colloid system material of students in classroom XI IPA 1 in State Senior High School 3 in Bandar Lampung in academic year 2009-20010 was 62.56. The determined minimum accomplishment criteria (or KKM) for chemistry subject in all classrooms XI IPA was 68. Students’ motivations in learning chemistry were low. This could be seen from irrelevant students’ activities to learning such as doing other tasks, sleeping and chatting. One of efforts to improve students’ learning motivations and concept masteries in colloid system material is by implementing guided discovery learning. The objective of this research is to improve percent of students’ learning motivation and concept mastery averages with guided discovery learning. This was a classroom action research and conducted in two cycles. Research data were data of students’ learning motivation obtained from observation sheets and data of concept mastery obtained from formative tests. The results showed that there were improvements of averages of students’ learning motivations (46.92%) and concept masteries (13.87%) from cycle I to cycle II.      Keywords       : guided discovery learning, students’ learning motivations, concept masteries

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem based learning model to improve the students’ original thinking ability of acid base topic. This research was conducted at one of Senior High School in Bangun Rejo with using kuasi experiment method with Non Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sample was obtained by cluster random sampling technique and it was obtained sample was the XI IPA 2 as control class and XI IPA 4 as experiment class. Effectiveness was evidenced by improvement of the students’original thinking ability used t-test and than supported by teacher lability and effect size test. The result of this research shown that the students’ original thinking ability is high, teacher ability is very high and effect size had large criteria. Based on them, problem based learning model was effective and had big effect size to improve of the students’ original thinking ability in acid base topic. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan model problem based learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di salah satu SMA Negeri di Bangun Rejo menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel dipilih melalui tehnik cluster random sampling dan diperoleh sampel yaitu kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Keefektifan dibuktikan dari peningkatan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa yang menggunakan uji-t serta didukung oleh kemampuan guru dan uji ukuran pengaruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa tinggi, kemampuan guru sangat tinggi, dan ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, model problem based learning efektif dan memiliki ukuran pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa. Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model on hoax information related foods in improving  communication skills. The research method used is quasi-experimental research with the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted at one of Senior High School  in Gedongtataan with the samples are: XI IPA 4 as an experimental class and XI IPA 5 as a control class. Sampling used purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used parametric statistics with t-test. The results are: mean value of postes on experimental class is higher than mean value of postest on control class and mean of n-gain on experimental class was a high category. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model on hoax information related some foods is effective in improving communication skills.Keywords:  problem-based learning, communication skills, hoax informationPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis masalah informasi hoax terkait beberapa makanan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi. Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectivity of guided inquiry learning in increasing learning motivation and student concept mastery. This research used quasi-experiment method with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel was decided using purposive sampling technique. Sample in this research was Senior High School 13 Bandar Lampung with X2 as experiment class and X5 as control class. The effectivity of guided inquiry learning model was measured based on n-Gain significant differentiation between learning motivation and student mastery concept in control class and experiment class. The result of this research showed n-Gain average of student learning motivation, 0.12 for control class and 0.23 for experiment class; and average of student concept mastery n-Gain control class and experiment class was 0,43 and 0,63. Based on hypothesis testing with t-test, it concluded that guided inquiry was effective in increasing learning motivation and student concept mastery on basic postulates of chemistry.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung kelas X2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing ditentukan berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-Gain motivasi belajar siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0,12 dan 0,23, dan rata-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep siswa kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,43 dan 0,63. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, didapat kesimpulan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep hukum-hukum dasar kimia siswa.Kata kunci: motivasi belajar, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, penguasaan konsep
