Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of interactive BSE utilization as a supplement for blackbody radiation learning in improving student’s critical thinking skills. The methods used were qualitative and quantitative with purposive sampling technique. We applied scientific based learning, where the experimental class used BSE interactive, while the control one used BSE non interactive. The results indicated that the learning used BSE interactive significantly and effectively could improve student's critical thinking skills at the 95% confidence level. Furthermore, there were significant differences in the critical thinking skills improvement between the experimental and control classes at the 95% confidence level with an N-gain value of 0.64 for the class that used interactive BSE and 0.53 for the class that used non-interactive BSE. The effect size value of interactive BSE utilization compared to non-interactive BSE was categorized in a high criteria with a Cohen's value of 1.78. Abstract

This research aims to describe the relationship between student performance in physics learning based practicum on students' collaboration and communication skills of  senior high school students. This study is quasi-experiment research. This study also tested the validity and reliability of the assessment instruments, and for data tested by using correlation test. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger compared to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model, in terms of the creative thinking skill of high school students in physics learning. This study used quasi experimental model with non-equivalent control group design. The data were analyzed by using independent samples t-test and effect size test. Based on the tests, it can be concluded that there are significant effect on the implementation of PjBL model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger on the creative thinking skill of high students in physics learning and PjBL model assisted with WhatsApp Messenger is more effective than the PBL model. Keywords: creative thinking skills, effect size, PBL, PjBL, WhatsApp Messenger DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v7.n1.201901

Abstract

This research aims to develop a medium of learning physics ludo game of the subject of the circular motion. One of the problems of education is the lack of facilities and infrastructure, so that teachers are required creative in improving the quality of learning in class, such as developing learning media. One interesting learning media and boredom of students in learning activities that game-based learning, such as the application of instructional media ludo game.The method used is research and development are adopting from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono of 10 stages to 7 stages. The collection of data used in this study a questionnaire given to subject matter experts, media specialists, classroom teachers and learners class X. The resulting data type is qualitative data and quantitative data to determine the feasibility of product research and development resulted in physics teaching media in the form of the game ludo valid to be used based on those ratings of validator penilaian82,2% gain material experts, media expert validator obtained 93.70% votes, ratings teachers gained 82.76% votes. Assessment test responses of participants trained in small groups obtain a percentage value of 86.69% and uiji field trials of each school (I) 84.50% (II) 81.12%, (III) of 82.67%, which means that the media can be accepted by learners. Keywords: games, Ludo, learning media, physics learning DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v7.n1.201903

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid and feasible physics braille module based on Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) learning model in linier motion. This study used R&D design with a procedural model that modified from the 4-D model consisting of define, design, and develop. The methods used in collecting data in this study are from interview and questionnaire. This study has successfully developed a valid and feasible physics braille module based on REACT, with the average scores of 3.12 for content and 2.85 for media aspect.
