Abstract

This study aims to explore the high qualified counselors’ personal competence at SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive research. The participants of this research were 169 students consisting of class X, XI and XII class selected by simple random sampling. The instrument for the data collection is questionnaires of counselors’ personal competence. There are four aspects that were outlined in the questionnaires namely, godly and devoted to the Almighty God, respect and uphold the values of humanity, individualist and independent, having integrity and stability of a strong personality, having high performance quality. The data analysis techniques used a simple calculation in which grouping the data into three criterias, they are, poor, moderate, and good. The results showed that the expected counselors’ personal competence at SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta reaching the score of each are 50.3% in good criteria, 49.7% in moderate citeria and 0% in poor criteria.The results of this study can be used as the basis for the development of counselors’ personal competence in order to become high qualifeid counselors as expected by the students. The counselors who have a strong personality as the expected by students can improve students enthusiasm to acquire the guidance and counseling services at schools.

Abstract

This research aims to the role of permissive parenting, school atmosphere, and achievement motivation towards students’ truant behavior. This is a correlational research. The quantitative approch is used in this research. The participants were 200 students of SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta. There was a form of scale of truant behavior, permissive parenting, school atmosphere and achivement motivation that used as the instrument of this research. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Based on the analysis results, the obtained data showed a coefficient of 22.044 with the sig. 0,000. The results of the study showed that there is a significant influence between permissive parenting towards students’ truant behavior , school atmosphere and achievement motivation by 25,2%. Specifically, there is a significant influence between permissive parenting towards students’ truant behavior by 18,3%, there is no significant influence between school atmosphere towards students’ truant behavior by 1,6%, there is a significant influence between achievement motivation towards students’ truant behavior by 24,5%. This research findings can be considered as useful information for the parents in order to provide an effective parenting for their children. On the other hand, these findings can be used as the ponder in developing guidance and counseling services to reduce students’ truant behavior.

Abstract

The learning achievement is an aspect that must be considered by the student, because it can affect career planning. Seeing this, the students are expected to have a maximum learning achievement. Reality is still a lot of students who have grades below a minimum completeness criteria (KKM). This study aims to determine the relationship between learning achievement in the career planning class XI student of SMAN 2 Bantul Academic Year 2014/2015. This research is a correlation, the variables of this study is twofold learning achievement variable (X) and career planning variable (Y). The population in this study is a class XI student of SMAN 2 Bantul Academic Year 2014/2015. The sample in this study a class XI student with the number of 37 students, pengembilan sample by random (random sampling). The collection of data on achievement variable learn to use data documentation, that the data value of report cards, and on career planning variables using a questionnaire. This validity test analysis using product moment formula, the analysis of the reliability test using Cronbach alpha formula, while data analysis using product moment formula. The results of this analysis demonstrate the value of the analysis of the correlation coefficient (r) between the variables of learning achievement of students with career planning amounted to 0.597 and p value 0.0000. Value of the determinant (r2) of 35.7%, so this shows that learning achievement contributes a positive and significant impact on student career planning, it can thus be concluded that: there is a positive and significant relationship between achievement of learning with career planning in class XI SMAN 2 Bantul Academic Year 2014/2015.

Abstract

All countries in the world realize the importance of education that aims to provide guidancefor the survival of a nation. Four things that become a major focal point in improving theeducation, the distribution of education, quality of education, educational relevance, and efficiencyof education management. Increased done should be done thoroughly, not one by one, and otheraspects are ignored .. However, education quality and equity of education in Indonesia is stilllagging behind other countries. One sat improve the quality of education conducted by the State ofIndonesia is to set the standard national examination, but still problematic. Then EquitableEducation conducted also been a problem with unequal education kualutas in each area. It isnecessary to improve education quality and equity of education in Indonesia. It is necessary stepsto address the education problem, namely by directed at improving the quality of education invarious aspects, and improving education performed evenly in each area.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the availability of facilities and infrastructure for guidance and counseling. This research is descriptive research with survey method, which is housed in the city of Yogyakarta with research subjects across the school SMP Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta at 10 schools. Data collection tool that is used in the form of a semi-open questionnaire which contains a checklist availability of facilities and infrastructure for guidance and counseling in schools. Data analysis techniques used in the form of descriptive statistics. The results showed 1) the availability of counseling rooms were adequate according to the standard which is sized 8x 9 m, new in 5 (50%) of schools that meet the standards of the 10 schools that became the subject of research; 2) the availability of special counseling room owned by the 8 schools (80%) of the 10 schools; 3) The factors inhibiting the availability of counseling that factor in the cost and land constraints. The results provide information for the development of facilities and infrastructure, principals, homeroom and subject teachers about the limited facilities BK teachers in providing services BK to students, so as to help teachers BK in providing the necessary facilities to make students feel comfortable in obtain guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the career aspirations of students through Islamic group guidance services. The design study is pre experimental with one type of group pre-test and post-test design. The research subjects were ten students of guidance and counseling Teacher Training College PGRI Madiun taken by purposive sampling technique. Data collection instrument used a scale of career aspirations. Analysis of data to test the effectiveness of the guidance of Islamic groups used the Wilcoxon test. The results of data analysis show a comparison z-score of -2.810 with a probability value of 0.005. Career aspirations of students before being given the Islamic guidance (pretest) showed an average score of 96.5 and after being given counseling the Islamic group (posttest) showed an average score of 131.5. It can be concluded that the Islamic group guidance services can improve students’ career aspirations of guidance and counseling Teacher Training College PGRI Madiun. The results of this study can be used as an additional reference for guidance and counseling course lecturers and counselors at universities for improving the career aspirations of students through Islamic group guidance services.

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of classical guidance service program to increase students’ self-control. It used quantitative approach with quasi experiment using non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Subjects of the research were 80 students who were taken by cluster random sampling technique. They were divided into two groups, 40 students were in experimental group and 40 students were in control group. To collect data this research used interview guide and self-control scale. Data analysis technique which was used to test the effectiveness of classical guidance service program was Anacova analysis. The analysis result shows negative value 11.694 with coefficient t=4.259 and p+0.000. Based on research result it can be concluded that classical guidance services program was effective to increase students’ self-control. The results of this research are useful for guidance and counseling teachers to help students to increase self-control through classical guidance services program.

Abstract

The attitude of the leadership of the most prominent school environment that is at OSIS which has a role in promoting the school, but the school also sometimes just pay attention to students who have shown ability to lead but did not give a chance to the other students. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase leadership attitudes through sociodramas OSIS SMAN 1 Poor Bantul Yogyakarta. This research is a class action (classroom action research) using sociodramas. Subjects in this study were 14 students OSIS. The data collection is done by using a questionnaire instrument leadership attitudes, and the observation sheet. The validity of research instruments using internal validity with item analysis using product moment formula, while for the reliability test using internal reliability with alpha formula. Analysis of the data in this study using the formula t-test to see the difference in the mean pretest and posttest results. The results of this research note that the method sociodrama can improve the attitude of the leadership, it is based on the pretest are in enough category by the number of frequency of 14 to 100%, and at posttest are in enough category with a number of frequency 8 at 57.14%, and then in the category both the number of frequencies 6 by 42.86%, so it can be concluded that there is an increasing position of leadership through sociodrama OSIS SMAN 1 Poor Bantul Yogyakarta. The results of this study can be useful for guidance and counseling teachers in developing guidance service groups using sociodrama to support student leadership attitude. For Deputy Head of Student and Pembina OSIS, this study may provide information about students attitudes OSIS leadership so that it can be used as a reference in making the right program for OSIS.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self regulated learning, self efficacy and parents  attention to learning achievement in mathematics in class VIII. This study took place in SMPN 1 Gunung Purwosari. Number of samples 89 and take the entire eighth grade students as subjects. Methods of data collection using a scale of self regulated learning, self-efficacy scale, and scale attention parents. Mathematics learning achievement data obtained from the documents in the first semester report cards while collecting data in the second semester. Data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. 0,05).">The regression analysis showed significant results between Self Regulated Learning on Mathematics Learning Achievement of 0.516 (516> 0.05). 0,05).">Self-efficacy on mathematics learning achievement of 0.611 (0.611> 0.05). 0,05), hal ini menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh dari ketiga variabel tersebut terhadap prestasi belajar matematika.">Attention parents of the mathematics learning achievement of 0.193 (0.193> 0.05), it showed no effect of these three variables on mathematics achievement. This research can be taken into consideration in making a program improvement school mathematics achievement.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the skills of interpersonal communication between counselors and students, school staff, and parents. The approach used mixed method, with the type of evaluation research. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire interpersonal communication skills and interview guides interpersonal communication skills. Subject of research is three counselors in one of SMK Negeri Malang. The results showed that interpersonal communication skills counselors with students, school staff, and parents are performing well with an average percentage score of 81.7%. The results of this study helpful for counselors as consideration in the development of interpersonal communication skills. Therefore, it is expected for counselors in order to continue to develop interpersonal communication skills with students, school staff, and parents through training / workshops.
