Abstract

In fact, most of studens thought that Mathematics is difficult,  because  the instruction was dull, teacher was less  active as facilitator in instruction, teacher did not apply imstructional media, teacher didnot involve students enough  in instruction, too many formula but less in practice and also teacher did not maximalized instructional model, as the result, the instruction was ineffective, besides teacher was focuse more  on cognotive oriented domain at class instruction, he left students' affective and pshycomotor domains, so that, their maturnity was less maximal. The objective of study wad to improve students' activities and the  mathematics'score  through geoboard instructional aid. The research was done at seventh hrade of SMP N 3 Metro Lampung on April 2018. It was a Classroom  Action Research. Data collection were observation sheets, tes and questionnaire that was students' response to instruction. It was analysed through descriptive analytic technique. The result of study was the using of  ELPSA model through geoboard assisstance at two dimentional figure could improve the avetage value 55.36 % at cycle I  into 74.49% at cycle ll, and the average result value was 55.06 at cycle ll became 67.41 at cycle ll. Based on the data finding, it can be infered that in appliying mathematis at class teacher should motivate students' interest and also fix the quality of instruction through variation of instructional model and suitable teaching aid,so that students' result can be maximazed

Abstract

The purpose of this study is describing the mathematical problem solving ability using the TGT (Teams Games Tournament) learning model for the students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto. This study uses qualitative research methods using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion (verification/conclusion drawing). The subjects of this study are students of X IPA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto. By using purposive sampling technique, the students of  X IPA 1 were in three groups: the group of low achieving students, the group of medium achieving students, and the group of high achieving students. In each group, three students were selected to become respondents and then analyzed. Data collection methods in this study use questionnaire, tests, interviews, and documentation. From the results of this study, obtained: 1) the students with low achievement have a poor problem-solving ability, 2) the students with medium achievement have a good problem-solving ability, 3) the students with high achievement have great problem-solving skills.

Abstract

The purpose of developing Islamic value-based mathematics teaching materials is to produce teaching materials on Islamic value-based opportunity materials by using a valid and practical flipbook maker. This type of research is development refers to the development model in Sugiyono's opinion through 7 stages, potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, and product revision. Based on the development of teaching materials research using this flipbook maker, the level of validity and practicality by conducting expert tests (material experts, design experts, Islamic value experts), responses from students. Material expert test obtained a percentage of 84% so that it was declared very feasible, the design expert test was obtained from 78% so that it was declared feasible, then the test of Islamic values experts obtained a percentage of 92% so it was declared very feasible. In the small group trial the percentage of 89% was obtained so that the media learning could be declared very practical. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning media produced is very feasible, while the response of students to learning media is very practical. Mathematics teaching materials using flipbook makers are available to teach independent teaching materials and shape good characters and morals with the Islamic values listed as taught.

Abstract

Culture-based learning allows teachers and students to actively participate based on the culture they already know so that optimal learning outcomes can be obtained. One that can bridge between culture and education, especially mathematics is ethnomathematics. For this reason, it is necessary to plan teaching materials that are by the characteristics of mathematics learning based on the Yogyakarta Palace of Ethnomathematics. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective ethnomathematics-based mathematics teaching material in Yogyakarta Palace. This research develops mathematics teaching materials based on the Ethnomathematics of Yogyakarta Palace. The product was developed using a 4-D development model developed by Thiagarajan, which consisted of the define, planning, develop and disseminate stages. The products produced are the ethnomathematics-based mathematics teaching materials in Yogyakarta in the form of Mathematics Modules and Student Activity Sheets. After going through the validation stage by experts, the products developed are included in the valid category. From the results of product trials, it is known that the products produced are included in practical and effective criteria

Abstract

Service quality is an evaluation of the results of the process of comparing the services that consumers have received with the service they expect. Based on the results of observations that have been made found several student complaints about poor service quality, including in the form of facilities or infrastructure. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student satisfaction with the quality of education services with the servqual method. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The data analysis technique uses the servqual method and the importance performance analysis (IPA) method. The results in this study show that students are not satisfied with the educational services provided by the mathematics education department, whereas in the science analysis there are several service items which are included in the top priority namely timely attendance, security, friendliness, structuring the lecture room, AC facilities, LCD facilities and worship facilities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain scientific evidence about the features of honey bee hives in two aspects, namely mathematical geometry, and the Qur'an. The research method used is qualitative research. Where research is conducted is library research by conducting content analysis with the conceptual realm. The process of data analysis is done with a preliminary study looking for references, followed by data collection, then conclusions will be drawn, then the data is validated in the form of triangulation methods. The results of the study show that hexagon is the optimal form when viewed in mathematical geometry because compared to other forms of hexagonal has the largest capacity area with a small circumference so that it requires little raw material for making nests. In addition, the hexagon is very possible in making the nest there is no gap between one cavity and the other cavity. Whereas reviewed in the Qur'an shows that the hexagon shape is very symmetrical and the selection of the nested form is inseparable from the intervention of Allah SWT, which Allah has given the miracle of being a bee in the form of revelation to create a nest with all its features.

Abstract

This research is motivated by observations at Muhammadiyah junior high school number 3 in Bandar Lampung that ability of students to solve mathematical problems have different thinking skills, diverse learning styles possessed by students in absorbing and processing information while the learning process is taking place and educators have never tested specifically creative thinking and learning styles. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of mathematical creative thinking abilities of students as seen from the visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles by Muhammadiyah junior high school number 3 in Bandar Lampung. Subjects for this research were conducted in VIIB and VIIE classes by taking subjects by purposive sampling, namely 2 subjects of visual learning style, 2 subjects in auditory learning styles and 2 subjects of kinesthetic learning styles. The results of this research is to indicate that students with visual learning styles are classified as level 1 (less creative), students with auditorial learning styles are classified as level 1(less creative)  and kinesthetic learning is classified as level 1 (less creative) and as level 3( creative).

Abstract

The quality of a student can be demonstrated from academic success as reflected in the cumulative achievement index (GPA) achieved. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the academic success of students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah Metro University, examine the significance of the overall and individual model parameters, and form a binary logistic model of student success. The subjects of this study were students in Mathematics Education at Muhammadiyah University of Metro. While the sample used is students of the 2-6 semester Mathematics Education of Muhammadiyah Metro University 2017/2018 Academic Year as many as 108 students. Based on the results of the study and discussion, the conclusions are: 1) Based on the variables that have been included in this study, the factors that most influence the academic success of students as indicated by GPA acquisition with the "With Praise" category are the major factors taken students while studying in high school (SMA) / equivalent; 2) The overall model parameters have a significant influence on the academic success of students and individually / partially the most significant influence is the departmental factor; 3) The regression model that is formed isg(x) = -0,924-2,575(Jurusan_1)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of learning with guided inquiry approach in term of mathematical concepts understanding, and to find out with approach is more effective between learning with guided inquiry approach and ordinary learning in term of mathematical concepts understanding. This research was quasi-experimental research study whose population covered all grade VIII students of SMP Unggulan Aisyiyah Bantul. Class VIII Hafshah and VIII Hawa were established as the sample. Class VIII Hawa as an experimental class was taught with guided inquiry approach. Class VIII Hafshah as a control class was taught with ordinary learning. The results of the study at a significance level of 5%, shows that the learning with guided inquiry approach and ordinary learning was effective in term of mathematical concept understanding. Learning with guided inquiry approach was more effective than ordinary learning in term of mathematical concept understanding.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is one of the mathematical skills that must be mastered in learning mathematics. Self-efficacy is a feeling of confidence to solving a problem. This type of research is Quasi Experimental Design. The purpose of this study are to find out the Visualization Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) learning model is more effective than conventional learning models, to find out the differences between students who have self-efficacy moderate and low on understanding mathematical concepts, and to know the interaction learning models and self-efficacy to wards understanding mathematical concepts. The population in this study were VII grade students of MTsN 2 Bandar Lampung, with research samples namely VII A as the experimental class and VII I as the control class. Data analysis techniques used normality test with Liliefors test and homogeneity test with Bartlett test. The hypothesis test used is a two-way unequal cell ANAVA test and a further test using a double comparative test using the Scheffe method. Based on the analysis and discussion of the calculation of research data, it was concluded that: First, mathematics learning using learning models was visualization auditory kinesthetic more effective than conventional learning models for understanding mathematical concepts. Second, understanding mathematical concepts of students who have self-efficacy moderate is better than low. Third, the results of the analysis show that there is no interaction between the learning model and the classification of self-efficacy to wards understanding mathematical concepts.
