Abstract

This study aimed to (1) analyze the characteristic of the households affecting energy consumption of household electricity, that was conducted in city of Malang by analyzing the probability of each factors affecting like income, location, price of electricity (tariff), size of houses, size members household, voltages, home appliances, type of business, the bill of payment of consumption demand electricity of non-business household and business household (2) analyze the differences characteristic in consumption of non-business household than business household in Malang. (3) analyze the most effected or dominant factor to influence consumption electricity of non-business household and business household in Malang City. The results show that in Malang, according to the simultan determine income, location, size of houses, size members household, voltages, home appliances, type of business, ability to pay of demand had a significant and positive affect on the consumption electricity of non-business household and business household. But according to partial determine the effected significant factors of electricity consumption of non-business household are members, voltage and the pay of payment and according to partial determine the effected significant factors of electricity consumption of private household are price of electricity (tariff), voltage and the bill of payment and type of business household industries. The characteristic consumption patterns electricity of non-business household is contrastly different from business household. Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze on structural dimension model of social support towards success of career female staffs of Islamic Banks in Malang, using management of conflict between work and family towards job satisfaction, commitment and performance. It is an explanatory research or hypothesis-testing study with descriptive quantitative approach. The subjects are 146 married female staffs; they have been working for the banks and married for at least one year. The sampling method is the multistage sampling method. The data collection method is questionnaire as the main instrument and supported by observation and documentation. The data analysis method is SEM (GeSCA) with the five-point Likert scale. The percentage of the contribution of social support, work conflict and commitment to organization to describe various degree of working performance is 78.5%. High social support and commitment to organization result in an increase in working performance of the Islamic bank female staffs.Keywords: Social support, career woman and Islamic Bank

Abstract

The aim of this research is for making micro financial institution that is healthy and sustainable with basic of local institution. Moreover, this research encourages the children of poor families to continue study to higher education. This research is performed within 3 years in Malang Regency. In this second year terms, the main aim of this research are : To explore more about the relation of the determinant of variables which influence the successful of poor households children to pursue study in higher education level with the existing of local economic institutions. Methodology applied in this research mainly qualitative approach. This study found that there are three main factors influencing poor households that are success to educate their children in higher education. First, the support or motivation from their children self. Second, the situation that makes children have to go to higher education. Third, the supports from their parents and family. There are three local social-economy institutions that are exist, namely: pengajian tahlil, arisan, and cooperation. The highest intensity that is followed by people sampled is pengajian tahlil and arisan. Local economy institutions that can help financial problem of poor households are arisan and brothers or family. Cooperation gets less attention from people because there is any doubtful of the people’s ability to pay installment regularly.Keywords: Micro finance institution, Poverty, Higher education

Abstract

The aims of this research are to analyze subsidized certified rice seeds attributes, and measure the satisfaction level of certified subsidized rice seeds. 150 sample of farmers from 15 villages are used to answer the research questions. This research use methods of Importance Performance Analyses  (IPA) to analyze the attributes of subsidized certified rice seeds and Consumer Satisfaction Index (CSI) to measure the level of satisfaction of the product (rice seed). The results indicate 8 attributes that fall into the category of attributes that are primarily prioritized for improvement, among others, seeds can be obtained easily and affordable, the availability of seeds can be ascertained, the purity of the seeds reaches more than 95%.The accuracy of seed quality, accuracy of seed quantity with land area, timeliness of seed distribution, and synchronization at nursery, and synchronized growth at 1 month. While the index of consumer satisfaction is in the range of 0.60 to 0.79 which means the average consumer has been satisfied but the consumer's satisfaction has not been maximized.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of ownership structure on firm value with investment decision as an intervening variable. The ownership structure proxied by managerial ownership structure and institutional ownership structure. The investment decision proxied by Market to Book Value of Assets. The firm value proxied by Price to Book Value. Population in this study are all companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) in the period 2008-2014. Selection of the sample in this study based on purposive sampling method. Based on these criteria there are 99 companies each year that requirements in the study. This study used multiple linear regression and path analysis. The results showed that managerial ownership and institutional ownership has no effect on investment decision, while the investment decision effect on firm value, managerial ownership has a negative effect on firm value, and institutional ownership has no effect on firm value. The investment decision is not a variable that mediates the relationship between the ownership structures with firm value. These findings reinforce previous research that reveals ownership concentration because there has not been a clear separation between ownership structure with the control of the company companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX).Keywords: Managerial Ownership Structure, Institutional Ownership Structure, Investment Decision, and Firm Value

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze supplier relationship management by two schemes of cooperation in rice seeds production, Farmer to Partner Farmers I and Partner Farmers I to Partner Farmers II in terms of qualified supplier selection, supplier integration, and effective procurement process indicators. Determination sampling methods are by multistage sampling and snowball sampling according to the information from BPSB (Seed Overseeing and Certification Agency) which have criteria the biggest rice seed producer and its marketing area is the largest one. Meanwhile, statistic descriptive by depth interview is used in this research to analyze the importance level of indicators in considering relations to rice seed suppliers. These indicators have some sub indicatrs which has been divided into five scales: not at all important,not  important, important enough, important, and very important. Condition in supply chain management among UD ABC, PF I, and PF II has been running well. They all agree that quality supplier selection, supplier integration, and effective procurement process are crucial indicators. Moreover, BPSB should give accompaniment between rice seed firms and their supplier related to fulfilment of rice seed needs.

Abstract

The mangrove forests in the Prigi Gulf located in Damas beach and Cengkrong beach. In one decade, the mangrove forest area has decreased quite dramatically. The decreasing is the result of land conversion activities as oil plantations. This study aimed to describe the management of mangrove forests, the identifying mangrove vegetation, and analyze the mangrove-based business opportunities that can be developed.Mangrove fruit actually can be used as syrup’s ingredient. But it’s at an early stage. In order to reduce the destruction of forests mangrove, several things as introduces mangrove functions as coastal life support and mangrove benefit directly as a material that can be developed for productive business. Based on the data, mangrove can be used for making some product such as batik, brownies and crackers. Feasibility analyses show that batik mangrove have an NPV value of Rp. 73,101,417, IRR 352.79%, Net B/C 19.93 and Pay Back Period 0.8. Brownies has a value of Rp 8,413,444 NPV, IRR 29.01%, Net B / C 1.78 and Pay Back Period 3.18. Crackers have a value of Rp 8,094,869 NPV, IRR 62.21%, Net B / C 3.54 and 1.59 Pay Back Period. Based on these values, the mangrove processing business is feasible and can be developed for productive business.Keywords: land use, mangrove-based business feasibility

Abstract

According to NAWACITA (Indonesia’s 9 years long plans), frontier region has priority to be developed because it is characterized as underdeveloped region which has inadequate infrastructures and underprivileged families. The study aims to assess the condition of livelihood assets in the frontier region. Livelihood assets are assets that local people use for living. This research employed descriptive statistical analysis which the data was derived from questionnaire, interview, and observation. Variables to assess the condition of assets were from financial livelihood asset, human asset, social asses, and natural asses. The result is drawn on a pie chart and allowed assets to clearly identify. The results stated that the highest asset is from human asset i.e. sub variable local ecological knowledge ( 85%) which is the knowledge of farming. Therefore, the lowest asset also from human assets i.e. access for education and additional skills. Local people are having difficulties to access the education center just like in Hillbilly Merau and Serangkang because the way to reach there still rocky and rough (undeveloped). Local skills in the village of Entikong are not fully mastered yet but people take special attention in the field of crafts.

Abstract

AbstractIn policy implementation, constraints are often found. Each region varies according to the context of the society it faces. East Java still has significant Mother Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) of the low quality of public health, especially in the horseshoe area covering the islands of Madura, Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Situbondo, Bondowoso and Jember. To analyze the policy implementation process, researchers use 5C's Protocol. The results showed that, among the 5 C's which is contained in Content, Context, Commitment, Capacity and Client & Coalition, the Public Health Service as the main actor influences the role of successful implementation of policies and programs. Through the 5C's analysis all stages of the policy process become clear. Beginning the determination of policy issues, implementation methods, monitoring and evaluation of MMR and MMR reduction policies can be explained and illustrated. The existence of a strong line relationship between the five C that will be seen that greatly affect the implementation process of decline policy in MMR and IMR in East Java province. This means that the implementation declining policy of MMR and IMR in East Java through innovation of local government actors and stakeholder involvement encourages the successful implementation of this policy.

Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based empowerment is a kind of empowerment that can used as an approach to solve various rural development problems. Theoritically, the success of various empowerment is significantly depend of social capital  factor. This study aimed to analyze  the role of social capital againts the success of ICT based empowerment, from the point of view of 3 parameters, that are : trust, norms and networks. The result showed that : 1) trust play a role in pushing society participation on ICT based empowerment program, that are : (i) trust on the empowerment organizers credibility, (ii) trust on the usefulness of ICT based empowerrment; 2) norms as daily customs, customs and individual character play a role to ease ICT based empowerment, that are: (i) individual character of community figures in the society have a role to build society trust on the ICT based empowerment; (ii) norms as customs have a role in the success of implementation of socialization about the existence of telecenter; and (iii) norms as  daily customs have a role to ease the socialization about  the usefulness  of ICT based empowerment; 3) networks  play an  important role againts the success of ICT based empowerment. The role of networks was to fund the development of telecenter building and facilitate the implementation of socialization activities.
