Abstract

State Extraordinary School (SLBN) Sansarino Village, Tojo Una-Una Regencyis a Special School which is devoted to children with special needs to develop knowledge and ways to socialize with others so that they can better understand self-confident. Students with special needs are also students who need special attention because they need guidance and education in living their lives. The need for inclusion, the need for control and the need for affection shown by the teacher to students greatly helps the teacher's teaching and learning process. Interpersonal communication at the SLBN of Sansarino Village, verbally and non-verbally, was carried out well and the teachers also made efforts to increase self-confidence in Children with Special Needs. Such as efforts to present a comfortable and fun teaching and learning process for students, provide motivation to students, increase the competitive spirit among students, not discriminate against weak children, provide training to students to increase self-confidence. Students are able to control their behavior well in daily life, can adapt and interact, have a sense of mutual concern, a sense of social solidarity, tolerance for each other so that there is no sense of being left out. Because they have a sense of mutual need, kinship and respect for one another.

Abstract

This study discusses vaccination, where the government's efforts to protect the health of its citizens from the Covid-19 virus are carried out simultaneously in Indonesia. This study aims to describe and analyze the extent of public knowledge and experience of the Covid-19 vaccination program and the response shown by the community to accept or reject the vaccination. Qualitative research method with the stages of observation and in-depth interviews as well as conducting a literature review related to the research focus. The rhesults showed that the knowledge and experience of the people of Moengko Baru Village about vaccination was still lacking and varied, where more information was obtained from social media, mass media so that they believed in hoax news circulating and would indirectly affect the response to behavior, attitudes and actions in vaccinating. However, some people already have good knowledge of the vaccination and are willing to be vaccinated for health and for immunity against diseases/viruses. The Government of Poso Regency has carried out a socialization program in the community so that the public better understands the importance of vaccination in the formation of herd immunity or group immunity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of Instagram as a means of marketing communication for Babakkeroyokan in Palu City. This research method is descriptive qualitative by conducting data collection techniques, conducting observations, structured interviews with three informants who have been selected through purposive sampling technique. The number of informants in this study consisted of three informants, namely the owner and holder of the Instagram, the manager of the Instagram, and the Babakkeroyokan sales team. Data analysis techniques used in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawingconclusions. Features Instagram used by Babakkeroyokan have eleven features, namely Profile and Bio Features, Photo and Video Upload Features, Stories Features Caption Features, Comments Features, Hastags Features, Like Features, Activity Features, DirectMessage (DM) Features, Geotagging (Location Tag) Features, and finally the Story Archive Feature. These features are used by Babakkeroyokan as tools to promote their food products to consumers. Features Instagram used by Babakkeroyokan have their respective benefits and uses in helping Babakkeroyokan to promote their food products to consumers, these features are used well by Babakkeroyokan as a means of information to consumers and have benefits for Babakkeroyokan sales in increasing their sales against the same business competition as them. In the use of these features there are interactions with consumers that make communication occur, of the eleven Instagram used by Babakkeroyokan, there are several features that are used every day to promote their food products and interactions with consumers so that communication is established, namely the Story andfeature Direct Message (DM).

Abstract

Instagram became one of the social media with the highest rating of its use among teenagers. There is a wide range of motivations in fulfilling the needs satisfaction. This study aims to determine the relationship of satisfaction and motivation to use Instagram photo sharing feature among students. A total of 148 students who made the study respondents who took the location of research at the Catholic University of Soegijapranata (UNIKA) in the Department of Visual Communication Design (DKV) and has been tested statistically. This research uses descriptive analysis, validity test and reliability test, correlation analysis of Kendal Tau test. From the results of these tests indicate that the existence of positive relations significance between the variable satisfaction and motivation to photo sharing in Instagram.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the social life of the Petobo Shelter community as survivors of natural disasters, which until now still occupies the Shelter due to the liquefaction disaster on September 28, 2018 and is currently facing the Covid-19 pandemic situation. This study uses proxemic theory to view space and distance in the formation of communication, and the theory of violation of expectations. This research method is descriptive qualitative where in its approach, the researcher uses data conclusions and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the communication experience of the residents of the Petobo Shelter has adapted to the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Interacting using a mask is not easy, apart from being required to speak a little louder than usual due to the muffled voice by the mask, the function of body movements is also to be a support for conveying messages due to voice conditions that are sometimes less audible and mouth movements are not legible. The quantity of communication itself is also reduced for communication activities during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially at the beginning of the pandemic when the number of cases of people exposed to it is high. Communication on a secondary basis or using media such as cellphones or gadgets is an option to communicate during the high number of cases of the spread of Covid-19 and also not to infect each other if there must be an in-person meeting.

Abstract

The term toxic parents is being discussed lately because many Indonesian parents are learning to be better mothers and fathers by avoiding their parent’s mistakes. Toxic parents are parents who have negative parenting patterns that are consistently and dominant in their children's lives, including abuse, violence, and humiliation that can cause trauma, mental damage, and harm the child in the long term. Considering that many young people feel related to the issue of toxic parents, the podcast Curhat Babu tries to raise this issue. This study aims to find out how early adults accept toxic parents on the episode of Curhat Babu podcast “Bisakah Kita Mengubah Orang Tua Kita?”. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews and documentation. This study uses a reception analysis of Stuart Hall's Encoding-Decoding model which divides the audience's meaning into three positions: dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and opposition. The results showed that the reception of the informants varied, but tended to be in a dominant position, where the audience accepted the dominant meaning in the podcast as whole which states that children cannot demand to change parents so the control is on themselves to break the toxic parent’s chain. Life experience, knowledge, and religion factors influence the various meanings and receptions of the informants.

Abstract

Communication has a very important role to support all activities, especially within the organization. When there is no communication between leaders and employees or vice versa, it will hinder the process of performance of organizational goals. The leader's communication style must also be in accordance with the situation and conditions of the organization he leads. Because it can affect the performance and productivity of its employees. The purpose of this study was to describe the communication style of the leadership of the Tegal Regency Leadership Communications Sub Division in motivating the work spirit of the employees. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques by observation, interviews and documentation. There are 6 informants selected by the researcher. Results Based on research on leadership communication style in motivation to work in the Tegal Regency Leadership Communications Sub-Section, it can be concluded that the leadership in the Leadership Communications Sub-Section uses communication. In motivation, the leader provides instructions, instructions, information and explanations to employees. However, it is not uncommon for leaders here to use horizontal communication, namely exchanging messages or ideas with each member in the organization. This is in an open attitude that is owned by the leadership. Leadership communication style Sub Division of Leadership Communications uses two communication styles, namely The Equalitarian Style and The Relinguishing Style. In the motivation to work employees, the leadership of the Sub-Division of Leadership Communications uses two-way communication. This is very effective in influencing employees to work hard. Because two-way communication is very important used by leaders to create good and effective communication.

Abstract

One of the tourism potentials of Surakarta City which is quite affected by the pandemic is the Taru Jurug Animal Park (TSTJ) Surakarta. Therefore, it is necessary to have a strategy in the implementation of communication and promotion from TSTJ Surakarta in order to continue to exist. The purpose of this study was to describe the marketing communication strategy of TSTJ Surakarta in order to increase tourists during the pandemic. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the research show that the marketing communication strategy of TSTJ Surakarta is carried out with several criteria, including: implementing health protocols in tourist visits, socializing non-cash payments in the tourism process, optimizing education about flora and fauna through the use of the Instagram social media account @jurugsolozoo, and several supporting activities introduced in the TSTJ Surakarta tourist visit, such as: gowes tours, fun fishing, and animal care tickets. In addition, TSTJ Surakarta also provides merchandise as an effort to introduce tourism potential, as well as provide additional information about what is available at TSTJ Surakarta to tourists.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the communicate media used at SLB Negeri Salakan in teaching and learning activities for mentally retarded students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is a case study using purposive sampling technique in determining informants. In this study, there were five people who were appointed as informants, and the data collection techniques used were observation and in depth interviews, which used interview guidelines as data collection media.The results showed that teaching and learning activities in SLB Negeri Salakan for children with mental retardation, there were four types of media used, the first media used images printed on paper, the second media used the Secil application, the third media used YouTube videos, and the fourth media used music/ song. Of the four media used, two of them are internet based, the media used mean is Secil application learning and YouTube videos. Referring to the media richness theory which looks at the four criteria according to the results of research in the field that image media, Secil application learning, YouTube video, and music media have the ability to convey cues, promptness in giving feedback, diversity of language used, and ability to focus.

Abstract

Samiran Boyolali Tourism Village (Dewi Sambi), is a tourist village located in Selo District, Boyolali Regency. Dewi Sambi was established in 2007. Dewi Sambi has experienced very rapid development, seen from the increase in tourist attractions, the increase in homestays and the ability of existing human resources to increase. Dewi Sambi's very rapid development is inseparable from good Marketing Communication. The marketing activities carried out by Dewi Sambi's management are through a word of mouth approach. This communication strategy is effective and has a positive impact on the development of Dewi Sambi. The steps taken by Dewi Sambi's management in marketing is that Dewi Sambi's management invites and invites tourism service providers or tourism bureaus to provide information regarding Dewi Sambi's existence, products, as well as accommodation and costs at Dewi Sambi. in addition, by sending letters to the agencies in Boyolali Regency.
