Abstract

This research investigates the technical eficiency of the banks listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange in Indonesia from year 2009 to 2012. This research also compares the levels of technical efficiency between Bank Umum Milik Negara (BUMN), Bank Umum Swasta Nasional (BUSN) Devisa and Bank Umum Swasta Nasional (BUSN) Non Devisa by using non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). DEA was calculated using input orientation and variable return to scale. ANOVA is also applied to compare efficiency between banks. The sample was selected using purposive sampling of 33 banks listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange for period 2009-2012. The result of this study shows that BUMN is the most efficient banks compared to the BUSN Devisa and BUSN Non Devisa. Furthemore, BUSN devisa is the least efficient bank. Finally, this research found that there is a significant difference of the technical efficiency between the groups of banks.Keywords: Eficiency Technique, Banking, Data Envelopment Analysis

Abstract

Revitalization of the museum in various cities in Indonesia by the government, including in Jakarta, aims to increase visits. To support this objective, museum needs to do the proper marketing strategies, one through experiential marketing approach.This study aims to reveal the effect of the customer experience on revisit intention with learning in museum and visitor satisfaction as mediation, from the perspective of museum visitors. This research was conducted at Museum Wayang, Jakarta. The result showed that customer experience in termsof five dimensions namely, sense, feel, think, act, and relate have positive effect on revisit intention through learning in museum and visitor satisfaction as mediating variables.Keywords: museum, experiential marketing, learning in museum, visitor satisfaction, revisit intention

Abstract

Exercise is an activity that is much preferred by people who realize the importance of health for the human body. Routinely man sports for the sake of a healthy body crave. Many of them, in addition to doing regular exercise,also does one of the sporting activities with his group as a community or club, e.g. basketball club, badminton club and other clubs. Regular exercise should be carried out in order to face the competition with another group of the same type of field of sport. To sustain such sport activities, sports shoes are required.Consumers must be clever to choose a brand of shoes that meet with some requirements of their need. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of the elements of product attributes on consumer purchase behavior of Nike sports shoes. The study was conducted by taking a sample of 100 users of Nike basketball shoes. Data were processed using SPSS program to perform the analysis of overall means score and multiple regression. The results show that the quality of products, product features, product design, product pricing, and product brands significantly influence the intensity of consumer purchases of Nike basketball shoes.Keywords: Product Quality, Product Design, Product Fiture, Product Price and Product Brand

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to assess the effects of board of directors’ education and experience on firm financial performance. Based on the cross-sectional analysis of the involved 30 publicly-listed Indonesian banks, it is found that both directors’ education and experience positively influence bank profitability, measured with Return on Assets ratio. The results of this study supports Hambrick and Mason’s Upper- Echelon theory. Based on the research findings, Indonesian banks are recommended to take experience and education into account when organizing board members—with more emphasis on the former due to the more impact it has. Furthermore, banks should also be encouraged to invest more in their human capital by facilitating further education of its board members.Keywords: Board Of Directors, Education, Experience, Firm Performance, Upper Echelon

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to determine whether the Organizational Justice has a mediating effect in the influence of Career Development to Succession in a family enterprise in the research, namely PT SumberdayaSewatama. The sampling method used is convenience sampling. This research took a sample of 38 employees at managerial level. Methods of data analysis used in this research is the analysis of the effect of mediation (OJ) and test effect of independent variables (CD) to the dependent variable (S). The results of data processing using SPSS 22 for windows with macros and hayes 2013. The result shows that managerial level employees at PT Sumberdaya Sewatama have career development, organizational justice, and succession were already good, but organizational justice can not mediate the effect of career development to succession.Keywords: Career Development, Succession, and Organizational Justice

Abstract

Volunteers give their service without expecting any monetary benefit. Despite of the absence of benefits, many of them were moved to becoming a volunteer in different social institutions. Therefore, many civil society organizations (which further called CSO) are depend on the involvement of volunteers, such as Terminal Hujan and Yayasan Sahabat Anak who are much depend on the engagement of volunteers in their daily activities to run the organization. The underlying reason why people are willing to do a volunteering activities can bedivided as internal and external motivation. The aim of this study was to dig internal and external motivation of volunteers who stay and allocate their time to fully involved in CSO running for marginal children education movement. This research is an embedded single case qualitative study, with unit analysis individual volunteer who has been participating and serving the CSOs for at least three years. Furthermore, this study was conducted in participatory observation and interview using open-ended questionnaire to volunteers of Terminal Hujan and Yayasan Sahabat Anak. Regarding the result of the study, volunteers stay due to internal motivation factors, such as personal satisfaction, similar personal and organizational values, concern for the beneficiaries’ future,and need for soft skill improvement. However, external motivation as the presence of training from organizations and organizational management system also strengthening volunteers’ motivation to stay.Keywords: Volunteer, Internal Motivation, External Motivation, Case Study

Abstract

Persaingan di era globalisasi ini sangat tinggi, dimana dibutuhkan sebuah konsep yang dapat membantu dalam menentukan dan mengarahkan agar seseorang dapat memilih dan menempatkan dirinya pada posisi dan waktu yang tepat. Konsep Kiyosaki sudah dikenal oleh masyarakat secara umum. Konsep ini dapat diterapkan ke tingkat universitas, dalam arti, walaupun universitas telah memiliki program tersendiri dalam membantu mahasiswanya setelah lulus, konsep kiyosaki akan mampu mengarahkan mahasiswa untuk menentukan posisi yang lebih akurat. Inilah salah satu alasan mengapa metode ini perlu diadopsi ke dalam program yang telah ada. Di sisi lain, konsep yang dibuat untuk dapat mengetahui kelemahan dan kekuatan serta tingkat kepercayaan yang perlu dimiliki. Dari Jurnal ini akan diketahui posisi yang tepat, terutama pada level kepercayaan yang perlu dimiliki dan akan dihasilkannya karakteristik yang siap dalam menghadapi globalisasi. Mengacu pada penelitian yang dikemukakan Karolina Ilieska (2013) mengatakan, “Penelitian mengenai perilaku pelanggan, dimana pelanggan merupakan faktor utama dalam strategi dan bauran pemarasaran sehingga dengan ini akan dihasilkan kepusaan pelanggan dengan kualitas tinggi.” Metode Ken Blancard dan ABCD Trust merupakan metode yang tepat dalam menghadapi globalisasi. Abstract

The object of this study is to analyze the influence of person-organization fit toward turnover intention and job satisfaction as mediating variable in the Generation Y banking industry employees in Indonesia. The sample used in this study was 62 people who are classified as Generation Y. Results from this study indicate that thevariable person-organization fit has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction variables also have a significant negative effect toward turnover intention. In addition this study, shows that the influence of person-organization fit toward turnover intention is mediated by job satisfaction.Keywords: Person-Organization Fit, Job Satisfaction, Turnover Intention

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of moderating variables Word-Of-Mouth on the relationship of Trust and Paramount Land Purchase Decision of house. The study was conducted in several clusters of housing in GadingSerpong. The sampling method used was simple random sampling. The number of samples studied were as many as 200 customers. The collected data is processed and analyzed by the IBMS SPSS 21.The results showed thatthere is significant influence Word of Mouth as a moderating variable on the relationship of Trust and Paramount Land house Purchase Decision. In addition, the Trust as independent variables significantly influence the purchase decision. Word of Mouth as quasi moderator variables (located as independent variablesand moderating variables) significantly influence the purchase decision and have a significant effect as a moderating variable on the relationship between the Trust with the purchase decision.Keywords: Trust, Word of Mouth, Purchase Decision

Abstract

A mutual fund is one of the interesting alternative modes of investment models for the investors that do not have much time, knowledge and expertise in calculating the risk and investment return. This study is aimed to understand the influence of the mutual fund’s characteristics: the expense ratio, fund size, turnover ratio, and the mutual fund’s age towards the mutual fund’s performance in Indonesia. This study has been conducted using the Fixed Effect Model with the White cross-section as the coefficient covariance method at 34 active equity mutual funds that existed in Indonesia during the 2012-2013 period. The result of this study has indicated that the expense ratio and the multi fund’s age have a significant negative towards the the equities mutual funds in Indonesia while the fund size and the turnover ratios have a significant positive influence towards the the equity’s mutual fund’s performance in Indonesia.Keywords: Equity Mutual Fund, Expense Ratio, Fund Size, Turnover Ratio, The Mutual Fund’s Age, TheMutual Fund’s Performance, Sharpe
