Abstract

Sturt;s Desert Pea (SDP) adalah suatu tanaman legum. Tanaman ini berpotensi sebagai tanaman bunga dalam pot, juga cocok pada pot-pot gantung dan bunga potong. Keberhasilan secara komersial sangat tergantung pada produksi yang konsisten dari tanaman yang berkualitas.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menemukan kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai untuk produksi tanaman. Faktor lingkungan yang diteliti adalah temperatur. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh temperatur pada pembungaan, maka penelitian  dilakukan  dengan  mengatur  temperatur  pada  25°C  konstan,  temperatur  10°C  malam  dan  22°C  siang,  dan  perlakuan  ketiga tanaman  ditumbuhkan  pada  temperatur  18°C  malam  dan  30°C  siang.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa  tanaman  yang ditumbuhkan pada temperatur 18°C malam dan 30°C siang menghasilkan bunga lebih banyak dari  perlakuan temperatur lainnya.

Abstract

This experiment was intended to study effects application time of bokashi cocoa pod husk and dosage of inorganic fertilizer mixture on the growth and yield of sweet corn.  The experiment employed a factorial randomized block design with two factors. The first factor was two levels of the bokashi application time: two or one week before planting time. The second factor was three dosages of organic fertilizer:  133.3 kg/ha of urea + 100 kg/ha of SP-36 + 83.3 kg/ha of KCL, 266.6 kg/ha of urea + 200 kg/ha of SP-36 + 166.6 kg/ha of KCl, and 400 kg/ha of urea + 300 kg/ha of SP-36 + 250 kg/ha of KCl. Data were analyzed with honestly significant difference (HSD) at 5 % significant level. Results showed there was no interaction between the two factors in affecting the parameters observed. It showed that time application of bokashi cocoa pod husk significantly affected the length of corn cob, while the inorganic fertilizer significantly affected the weight of corn cob. Results of the HSD test indicated that the best corn cob length (22.96 cm) was obtained for one week bokashi application prior to planting with inorganic fertilizer of  400 kg/ha of urea + 300 kg/ha of SP-36 + 250 kg/ha of KCl.

Abstract

Exploration of phospate solubizing bacteria (PSB) was carried out to know the population density and diversity of PSB in any rhizospore of vegetation in the area of Lore-Lindu National Park.      The Rhizospore sampling used meyhod of ‘Polar Institu-Bromophenol Blue (NBRI-BPB), Pikovskaya media and Tadulako-2 media. The result showed that 52 isolates of bacteria had been differentiated from 25 rhizospere sample with population density range between 19.0 and 192.5 (x104 cfu g-1), yellow and white of colony colors, and colony diameter between 1.5 mm and 3.5 mm. Screening these bacteria in NBRI-BPB media found 25 isolates classified as phospate solubizing bacteria based on clear zone showed in media. The diameter of clear zone range between 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm. Continuing tested of these 25 PSB isolates showed that seven isolates clustered as superior PSB based on their ability to solve tricalsium phospate in liquid Pikovskaya media with phospate concentration range between 671.5 and 895.7 (mg L-1+ media). These isolates also showed better viability with population density rangr between 87.5 and 142.0 (x106 cfu g-1) after 80 days inoculated in Tadulako-2 media. These seven isolates were SED-01, WUA-07, KAD-08, WAN-03, WAT-03, TAL-02, and ROM-05. Key Words : Exploration, NBRI-BPB, phospate solubizing bacteria, polar sampling plans, tadulako-2 media.

Abstract

The aims of the research were to study the rate of top soil erosion, to determine actual erosion and C factor under different land uses in the Nopu watershed.  Field experiment was conducted from January to March 2006 in the upper Nopu watershed, Palolo sub district, Donggala regency. Soil physical analyses were done in Soil Science Laboratory of Agricultural Faculty of Tadulako University. Small plots were purposively determined for erosion experiment.  The result of the research showed that soil physical characteristics such as bulk density, porosity, aggregate stability index, texture, and soil organic matter under cacao land use were different from those under bare land use.  The actual soil erosion under bare land use with 10% slope was much higher than that under cacao land use which were 14,304.49 and 172.6  kg/ha/yr, respectively.

Abstract

This research aims to test the efficiency by using inputs production and analyse farming income of Bawang Merah Varietas Lembah Palu which managed by farmers in Bulupountu Jaya village. Bawang merah is one of vegetable commodity that has big market ooportunity in agricultural sector. The results by hypothesis testing of input production which are, area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), and labour (X4) simultanly and parsially are influencing positive and highly significant. All variables of inputs production, area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), and labour (X4), there are three inputs production haven’t allocated efficiently. They’re area, seeds, and fertilizer. While labours (X4) has allocated efficiently. So, from all of variables which have analysed, labour is the only one of inputs production that has allocated efficiently. Farming of Bawang Merah Varietas Lembah Palu earns income as Rp. 21.746.480,24/0,34 Ha or Rp. 64.634.792,65/Ha. Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the level of effectiveness of the working capital management and the level of profitability produced by small-medium scale industry (SMI) ofTovicoSejahtera in Dondo subdistrict of Tolitoli district.  The object of this study was the financial statements of the period 2015-2016 which covered items in the Balance Sheet report and Income statement. Data collection methods used in this research were documentation and interview. The analysis used was quantitative including activity ratio (working capital turnover, inventory turnover, Account Receivable Turnover) and profitability ratio (gross profit margin, net profit margin, ROI, ROE). The analysis shows that the ratio of working capital turnover, inventory turnover ratio and ROE ratio decreased in 2016 indicating that the performance of management decreased as well..But the overall working capital management at SMITovico Sejahterawas good in which the ratio of activity and profitability generated was above the general standard or above the average of the industry.  This result suggests thatSMITovico Sejahterais able to utilize and to manage its working capital effectively in generating high profit. Keywords: Effectiveness, profitability, and working capital management.

Abstract

The  attack  of  pod borer  Helicoperva  armigera  Huebner  (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)  on  corn  ear  stems  represent  the main constraint of sweet corn planting development in Donggala Regency Central Sulawesi.  The biological control using a pathogen  insect  (entomopathogen)  as  one  of  the  integrated  pest  control  components  can  be  developed  to  overcome  this problem.  One type of the pathogenic insect is a Beuverria bassiana fungi.The research aims were to identify the effectiveness of various concentrations and application time interval of B. bassiana as bioinsecticide to control of H. armigera pod borer. The experiment used a Randomized Block design with two factors consisting of B. bassiana concentrations (K): k 1 = 0,4, k 2 = 0,6 and k 3  = 0,8, and time interval of B. bassiana applications (W) : w 1  = 5 d, w 2 = 7 d, and w 3 = 9 d.  Each treatment was replicated 3 times; therefore, there were 27 experimental units in total. The parameters observed were: (i) density of larva population (ii) mortality of larva, and (iii) percent of ear corn stem damage.  Data were analysed using the analysis of variance, and differences between means was tested using honest significant difference (HSD) test at 5%. The research results showed that the concentration and the application time interval of B. bassiana each had significant effect on all parameters observed but their interaction effect was insignificant. The treatment k 2 w 3  (0.6 mg B. bassiana/L water applied every 9 d) was more effective in suppressing the population density, the larva mortality and the ear corn stem damage percent than other treatments. Considering the negative impacts of using chemical insecticide, B. bassiana bioinsecticide can be used as an alternative control of sweet corn pod borer H. armigera.

Abstract

This research was done at the eksperimental station Pengawu Sub District, South Palu District, City of Palu, Central Sulawesi Province. For 10 week from Mei 19, until August 11, 2005. this research was aimed at studying body weight and carcass percentage of male Kacang goat at different time of diet giving. Fitteen male Kacang goat aged of 10 – 12 months with 10,10 – 16,10 early body weight from local farmer around Palu City were used. The goats were in individual confinement with 15 individual size of 75 x 75 x 75 where each confinement was put food and water. Environmental design used for this research is a completely Randomized Design with coisist of treatments and 3 groups as replications. The treatments were allocated with 5 differents of eating time, i.e. WM1 (diet giving at 8 am), WM2 (diet giving at 9.30 am), WM3 (diet giving at 11 am), WM4 (diet giving at 12.30 pm)   WM5 (diet giving at at 2 pm). Results showed that diet giving at different time gave very significant effect (P<0,01) on both of the parameters observed

Abstract

This study aims were to identify the use of production inputs and to determine the price efficiency of the wetland rice farming system in Poleganyara Village. This study was conducted from August to December 2013. The number of respondents was 31 people selected through simple random sampling.  Data collected was analyzed using Cobb-Douglas production function, income analysis and efficiency analysis. The research results showed that the inputs used had covered the cost spent.  The average income of the respondents was IDR 14,489,761.09 planting season-1 (PT) greater    than the total expenditure of IDR 6,683,795.22 PT-1 thus resulting in the benefit of IDR 7,805,965.87 PT-1 under land area size of 0.95 ha. All inputs used as independent variables (X) were both partially and simultaneously affected the dependent variable (Y) significantly at α level of 1%.  The efficiency analysis indicated that such variables as land area, seeds, and fertilizer were not yet efficient (tcal>ttab) while labor was already efficient. Key Words : Efficiency, income, and wetland rice.

Abstract

Agricultural sector plays important role in the national economy. In Kulon Progo regency, one of commodities in agricultural sector is coconut tree. One of its products is broom made from its coir in Sendangsari village Pengasih Kulon Progo. The objective of this research was to analyze cost, profit, revenue, profitability, risk, and efficiency from coir craft business in Kulon Progo. It used descriptive method. The research was conducted in Pengasih subdistrict Kulon Progo regency, exactly in Klegen subvillage of Sendangsari village. Primary data was obtained through direct interview with 30 coir broom producer using structured questionnaire and other data supporting the research objective. Secondary data was obtained from institutions such as Kulon Progo Statistic Bureau and other related source. The broom handicraft business was profitable and feasible to be developed, R/C ratio was 2.05 indicating that the revenue generated by the business was IDR 205,000. The profit earned by the broom craft business was IDR 105.00. The business risk and the lower limit of the profit was IDR 1,553,613.50 with deviation standard of 398,942.63; coefficient of variation of 0.26; and the lower limit of profit was IDR 755,728.24. Keywords: Coconut Coir Craft and business efficiency.
