Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine consumer behavior towards attributes of chicken meat such as meat color, texture, aroma and weight in purchasing decisions, and to analyze the factors that influence behavior. The research was conducted at the Traditional Ganti Market  of Donggala Regency from August to September 2019. The research used survey methods and interviews with a sample of 40 respondents. Data were analyzed using Multi-attribute Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression. The results showed that the attributes of chicken meat weight were highly considered in making purchasing decisions, followed by the aroma, color and texture of the meat. The results of the Multiple Linear Regression analysis show that the price of chicken meat, income, number of family members, age, gender, education and work together have a positive effect on consumer behavior. However, individually, the ones that have a positive effect on consumer behavior are education and consumer occupation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of the use of bread waste and milled corn as a source of energy in concentrate to the weight and percentage of external non-carcass components of female local goats. This research was conducted from January 1 - April 23, 2020 at CV. Prima Breed, Tondo Village, Mantikulore District, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. The number of livestock used in this study was 12 female local goats aged ± 10 months with a weight range of      10-12 kg. The study used a two-treatment comparison test with t-test statistical analysis. The treatments in this study were: P1 = Giving concentrate with the basic ingredient of an energy source is milled corn + Panicum sarmentosum Roxburg (Roxb) ad-libitum and P2 = Provision of concentrate with the basic ingredient of energy sources is bread waste + Panicum sarmentosum Roxburg (Roxb) ad-libitum . The results of the t-test statistical analysis showed that the provision of concentrate + bread waste + milled corn gave a significant difference to the percentage of the external non-carcass components of local goats, while the provision of concentrate + bread and the provision of concentrate + ground corn did not give a significant difference to the weight of the non-carcass components external local goats.

Abstract

This study aims was to determine the effect of giving turmeric flour (Curcuma Domestica Val) in the rations on the percentage of super native chicken carcass. In this study, 80 super native chickens were placed in 20 cages with 4 chickens in each cage. The method used in this study was the completely randomized design method (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used in this study were A (without turmeric flour or control), B (2% turmeric flour), C (4% turmeric flour), and D (6% turmeric flour). The variables observed were live weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage. The results showed that the addition turmeric flour (Curcuma Domestica Val) had no significant effect on live weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage of super native chicken. Giving turmeric flour to a level of 6% did not affect live weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage.

Abstract

Abstract

A pot trial aimed comparing several aspects of agronomical atributes of two types of Panicum has been carried out from August to September 2018 in the greenhouse of Tadulako University, Palu. A completely randomized design (CRD) of two treatments which were repeated 10 times was used in this study. The variables observed included plant height, number of tillers, length of leaf-sheath, length of leaf-blade, leaf width, and dry matter production. The data collected was analyzed for variance using the SX program, with followed-up by the least significance difference test (P=0.05) for variables that were significantly affected by treatment. The results showed that Panicum sarmentosum grass has a similarity to Panicum maximum in terms of number of tillers, leaf-sheath length, leaf width, and plant height (P>0.05), except for leaf-blade length, and dry matter production (P<0.05).

Abstract

The coastal area is an area that is vulnerable to excessive nutrient input. Excessive intake of nutrients can disrupt the balance of the ecosystem in Sampolawa Bay because it is suspected to be the cause of eutrophication in the water column. This study aims to estimation of productivity level in Sampolawa Bay. The study was conducted in July 2020. Determining the productivity level of the waters using the TRIX method by collecting data on phosphate, nitrogen, dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll-a. The results showed the productivity level in Sampolawa Bay ranged from 0.5271 to 0.8735 in the category of oligotrophic or no eutrophication.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the level of adding rice bran as a source of carbohydrates on the characteristics of market vegetable waste silage. Market vegetable waste used includes cabbage, chicory and corn husks. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications with P0 = market vegetable waste without adding rice bran (0%), P5 = market vegetable waste added with 5% rice bran, P10 = market vegetable waste added with bran rice 10%, and P15 = market vegetable waste added by 15% rice bran. The variables observed were pH, temperature and total colonies of lactic acid bacteria, silage of market vegetable waste. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance and continued with Duncan's advanced test. The results of the ANOVA showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the pH, temperature and total colonies of lactic acid bacteria. The conclusion is that the addition of the level of rice bran as a source of carbohydrates does not have a significant effect on the characteristics of market waste silage.
