Abstract

Hawaiian Ladyfish (Elops hawaiensis) can be used as raw material for fish gel (jellyfish product) due to its white fleshy and high protein. One of the diversified fisheryproducts are fish meatballs. This product is an effort to diversify from ladyfish forincrease domestic fish consumption. The addition of seaweed porridge Kappaphycusalvarezii mush on fish meatballs ladyfish expected to improve the quality ofmeatballs. The aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of fish ballshawaiian ladyfish (Elops hawaiensis) with the addition of seaweed porridgeKappaphycus alvarezii and find out the nutritional value of Hawaiian ladyfishmeatballs. Addition seaweed porridge concentration used in making meatballs is 0%,5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The experimental design used was a completelyrandomized design with two replications. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance(ANOVA) and Duncan test further. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the catch of each effort unit (CPUE) and the effort to catch fish resources in the coastal waters of Tegal Regency, based on the data series for the last ten years (2011-2020) with survey and interview research methods. The results showed that the existing conditions of fishing effort during the previous ten years had decreased by an average of 1.66 %. The production of fish caught and CPUE landed in Larangan Coastal Fishing Port, Tegal Regency, shows an average increasing trend of 10.91 % and 11.98 %, respectively. The calculation of the relationship between CPUE and effort provides information for MSY of 1,002.24 tons/year, TAC of 801.79 tons/year, with a utilization rate of 120.08 %. Based on the calculation data, it indicates that the average exploitation of fish resources in the coastal waters of Tegal Regency is 962.80 tons/year, which is still below the MSY (1,002.24 tons/year) but has already exceeded the TAC (801.79 tons/year) utilization rate of 120.08 %.

Abstract

Milkfish is one of famous fish with highly nutrition contents. They are easily found in the market, and its price is relatively cheap. Milkfish just like other animals, has never free from the threat of various parasites. The fishes are also known to be vulnerable to parasite infection. Several worms species of fishes often inhabit a single body of fish. Therefore, in this study the inventory of parasite was done in milkfish. The examination was begun by measuring the fish total length and its weight, and then observed all the parasites found and inventoried. The examination also performed on the digestive tract by dissecting the fish. The whole organ observed and stored in a petridish containing a physiological saline solution. And then thy were observed by using a microscope. The results showed that were 6 types digenea 1 (5 species), Nematodes 1 (20 species), Procamallanus (3 species), Anisakis (4 species), Dichelyne (1 species), and Rhabdochona (1 species) with a parasitic worm intensity by 32 . Highest intensity in fish Nematodes 1 by 20 and the lowest in fish Dichelyne , and Rhabdochona by 1 with a prevalence of parasitic worms by 40% . Highest parasite prevalence of digenea 1 by 12% and the lowest was 1 Nematodes, Dichelyne, Rhabdochona by 4% .Keyword: inventory, parasite worms, milkfish

Abstract

VNN or Viral Nervous Necrosis is one of dangerous pathogen which might could infects some marine fishes. This virus has various type of resistance level to different marine fish. An attempt to test the fishes which have highest level of resistance for VNN virus have been conducted. About 0.1 ml of VNN virus extract were injected to seven economic fish species. Prior the treatment, all fishes were tested using the PCR technique. The data were analysed by variance of randomized block design consisted of treatments and control. The results showed that the VNN virus injection to the fish group have significant impact at 1% level. Results of challenge test showed that Silver Pompanos have the strongest resistance against VNN virus compared to the other species with 90% of survival rate , while the PCR test showed no esophageal VNN. While the Humpback groupers have the weakest resistance with 20% of survival rate with PCR test showed that VNN infection have severe stages.
