Abstract

Increasing aquaculture production will increase land use and environmental pollution, especially water quality for cultivation. Resirculating Aquaculture System is a solution in sustainable cultivation that can produce continuous production by minimizing its impact on the environment. The working principles of RAS include the process of solid waste disposal, biofiltration, degassing / CO¬2 stripping, aeration, and disinfection. Based on literature studies, the use of RAS technology in Indonesia has been carried out both on a small scale such as aquaponics and on a large scale in several Balai Sulawesi, Yogyakarta and Aceh to the application of integrated technology in RAS systems such as microbubble and Immuno-Probiocirculation System (SI-PBR). RAS implementation management includes the selection of fish species, selection of feed, the cultivation system used, the filters used and the shape of the cultivation pond. Although the RAS system involves high capital investment and risk factors, this can be balanced with the production of superior quality fish / shrimp without disruption anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

The existence of hydro-oceanographic information such as tides plays an essential role in supporting coastal areas' transportation. This study aims to compare the tidal analysis results in Mandangin Island, Sampang Regency, East Java using the Admiralty and Least Square methods. The data used in this study are tidal data for May and November 2020, which represent the dry and rainy seasons in Indonesia. Tide data are obtained from the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) at one-hour intervals. From this research, it can be concluded that the tidal types generated from the Admiralty and Least Square methods in Mandangin Island, East Java, are mixed types with semidiurnal tendencies. The use of the Admiralty and Least Square methods results in the difference in the harmonic components' amplitude values. The M2 and O1 components have an enormous difference in May 2020, with amplitude values of 0.0003 and 0.0002, and the difference in the amplitude values of the harmonic components also occurred in November 2020. The M2 component has the most significant difference compareto other components, namely 0.0011. The components O1, P1, and MS4 in the same month result in a relatively small difference in amplitude values with values of 0.0002, 0.0002, and 0.0001. For further tidal research, data corrections should be considered, a nodal correction to produce more accurate observational data. This correction can use the T_Tide program with constants obtained from the analysis process.

Abstract

Light fihing activities developed rapidly after the invention of electric lights. The innovation of Light Emitting Diode (LED) as energy saving lamp has a great opportunity to be used in fishing activities. LED lamps require low voltage and current, so that it can be combined with renewable energy sources to encourage more environmentally friendly of fishing capture activity. This study aims to determine the design and construction of an optimal DC converter using Cu-Zn seawater battery as an early stage of LED lamp development with seawater energy source for fixed lift net fishery. The research was conducted at Fishing Technology Laboratory, Department of Fisheries Resources Utilization, FPIK-IPB in August 2017. The treatments were number of windings (30:50, 50:80) and number of toroid (single, double) that was used in DC converter circuit. The energy source used comes from a single seawater battery cell with a zinc anode (Zn) and a copper cathode (Cu) with a size of 40x36 cm, inserted into a 3-inch diameter PVC tube. The voltage was measured by a digital oscilloscope (Iwatsu DS 5102), the current was measured using a multimeter (Sanwa CD 771) and the light intensity was measured using a lux meter. Differences in the number of windings and toroid have a significant effect on the value of inductance. Single Toroid with 80 loops produces the largest inductance value (143.1 mH) compared to other treatments. The use of DC converter with dual toroid and 50:80 winding provides better performance than other treatments with maximum voltage, current and intensity respectively 2.12 V; 121,80 mA and 128 lux
