Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the catch of each effort unit (CPUE) and the effort to catch fish resources in the coastal waters of Tegal Regency, based on the data series for the last ten years (2011-2020) with survey and interview research methods. The results showed that the existing conditions of fishing effort during the previous ten years had decreased by an average of 1.66 %. The production of fish caught and CPUE landed in Larangan Coastal Fishing Port, Tegal Regency, shows an average increasing trend of 10.91 % and 11.98 %, respectively. The calculation of the relationship between CPUE and effort provides information for MSY of 1,002.24 tons/year, TAC of 801.79 tons/year, with a utilization rate of 120.08 %. Based on the calculation data, it indicates that the average exploitation of fish resources in the coastal waters of Tegal Regency is 962.80 tons/year, which is still below the MSY (1,002.24 tons/year) but has already exceeded the TAC (801.79 tons/year) utilization rate of 120.08 %.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe northern part of Karawang is a coastal area with mostly mud-sand substrates. This substrate tends to be unstable, so that naturally, this kind of sediment is supported by coastal vegetation that forms coastal ecosystems, such as mangroves; therefore, the importance of mangroves in Karawang coast is definite. Unfotunately the data regarding the condition of mangroves in Karawang Regency is quite insufficient. This information, especially about its existence, is needed as a database for further research and as basis to support government policies on coastal area management. The aim of this research is to provide information about the existence of mangrove in Karawang Regency. The method is by using Normalized Different Vegetation Index (NDVI) calculations on Landsat 8 2018 satellite imagery of Karawang to get the data that reveal the information. We have discovered that the existing of mangroves in Karawang Regency in 2018  is 305,14 Ha. Border coast that is vegetated is only 33.75 km of 77 km long coastline of Karawang. Only less than 5% of the total mangrove protected area in Karawang Regency is detected as mangrove from the total 9.055 Ha of the area.

Abstract

Keeping all catches is an important part of fishing activities after catching with the aim of maintaining catches that have high selling prices. Good handling of fish after the ship is taken is one way to get good results. Handling can be in the form of maintaining the temperature of the catch. Regarding to the results of the 2017 applied research carried out related to ships and fishing gear in the coastal Karawang district, it is denied that fisheries in this area are generally very low in terms of the production of fish caught which is poor quality provided direct impact on the sale price of the catch. Based on this, an easy cooling engine is needed that does not burden the operations. Therefore the purpose of this study is to make a solar powered refrigeration unit (solar energy), knowing the performance of a mini refrigeration unit that has been made (COP) and finds out the quality of fish stored in accordance with organoleptic observation. The results showed that the mini refrigeration units made worked well with performance (COP) of 3.51 mean mini refrigeration units that have a good efficiency above 1. Moreover, the fish quality was stored in the mini-refrigerators had organoleptic values according to the standard food is an average of 8.
