Abstract

Research through the program Assignment Lecturer in the School (PDS) in Class IV Primary School Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (SD UMP) goes well. Learning implemented in class IV Zaid Bin Tsabit Primary School Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. learning strategies applied Learning Strategies to Increase Thinking Ability (SPPKB). There are six stages in SPPKB applied in the present study. Starting with the orientation phase, the tracking stage, the stage of confrontation, the stage of inquiry, accommodation phase and ended the transfer phase. Stages of inquiry is the most important stages. At this stage the students learn to think real. Learners are encouraged to solve problems encountered. Some learners difficulties in the learning process-oriented thinking and invention concept. The issue presented in a matter can not be solved learners. Learning media in the form of animated short films about religious diversity effectively evoke the imagination inspires learners. Application of learning strategy SPPKB able to improve the ability of thinking and invention concepts and learners are able to solve problems that served learning materials. When students were asked to argue, invented the concept of the learning process has been able to express their opinions well. SPPKB strategy implementation can provide a solution to students who have been experiencing difficulties in the learning process oriented thinking and invention concepts and problem solving. Keywords: Thematic Learning Strategies, Social Sciences

Abstract

This research was aimed to identify problems faced by an English teacher in managing a large class and to describe strategies the teacher employed for that purpose.  It was conducted at a vocational school in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Indonesia.  Descriptive qualitative approach was used in the study, with interview and observation as the main data collection techniques. One English teacher was involved as the research participant. Based on the interview with the English teacher, three difficulties arose when handling the large EFL classes: student grouping, use of English as language of instruction, and active student learning. Strategies the English teacher used in dealing with the large classes included: arranging seat position, grouping students, using appropriate media, controlling students, inserting humors, creating interactions, managing time, mentioning prohibition, telling stories, singing songs, and imposing punishment. In regard with strategies of handling EFL large size classes, the authors suggest a few other strategies for this purpose emerged from previous research experience. Key words: teacher strategies, large classroom, EFL, classroom management

Abstract

Gombengsari Village is a cool village, a friendly community, located at the foot of Mount Ijen. Gombengsari Village is located in Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency. The potential of natural resources possessed is enormous, ranging from fertile agricultural land which is good for planting various types of leaf vegetables, fruit vegetables, rice, crops and ornamental plants. There are coffee plantations, Sumber Sweet Suko Park Tourism, Puncak Asmoro tourism, agricultural areas, Bride Cave Bathing Tours, Camping Ground being a part of beautifying Gombengsari Village. From the large natural resource potential of the village of Gombengsari, the level of welfare of the community should be better than other village areas. However, the level of welfare of the people of Gombengsari village is still below average. Community service activities in the village of Gombengsari have been carried out through the Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post) program under the assistance of LPPM PGRI Banyuwangi University. The implementation of Posdaya which was developed has not yet had a maximum impact on improving the economy of the community where there are still several problems that must be solved especially in the sale of coffee yields in the Gombengsari coffee farmer group. With the existence of KKN PPM, it is expected that coffee will become a village brending by solving problems faced by coffee farmers. Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning motivation and students’ skills in writing news and to determine whether there is an effect of learning motivation on the students’ skills in writing news of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI). This research employed quantitative descriptive research which is consisting of two variables, namely learning motivation (independent variable) and news writing skill (dependent variable). The research sample was taken, 30 students. The research data was obtained by the distribution of questionnaires technique about the learning motivation and news writing test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and simple regression tests on the SPSS program. The result shows that students' learning motivation is in a good category. The influence of learning motivation on students’ skills in writing news shows an adequate interpretation. It is proved by the significant value of 0,000<0,05, which means the learning motivation has a significant effect on the news writing skill of Indonesian Language and Literature Education students of UMI.Keywords: learning motivation, writing news

Abstract

Banyuwangi is a district that is developing its city towards a tourist city so that the growth of industry and hospitality is very rapid but does not necessarily bring welfare impacts to the surrounding community because the absorption of its employees is not from surrounding residents other than that the natural conditions of the Bulusan Village can only be planted with corn and coconut. The problem that arises is that in Bulusan Village there are many tourist areas and hotels, but the people cannot enjoy it yet. So to answer the problem can use the road are: 1) Training, assistance; 2) Community empowerment activities in order to be able to create new community-based and environment-based jobs are carried out jointly between students and the community accompanied by experts in their fields. The method used for this program is the socialization of the team that offers skills training assistance. Followed by training material. Then followed by the practice of making batik and bambo woven. The results of this dedication are obtained three elements of an increase in human resources to increase their knowledge and appearance. Keywords: Training, Batik, Bulusan

Abstract

The application of lesson study is to improve the quality of student interaction in group discussions in English classes, it is carried out with the aim of improving the quality of communication and collaboration between students in solving problems or instructions given by the teacher. Furthermore, by having good communication and collaboration, it shows that the quality of interaction between students in discussions is also good. The Lesson Study was carried out in three stages, namely (1) Planning (Plan), (2) Implementation (Do) and (3) Reflection (See) with the object of observation of 8F grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah 01 Purbalingga with the total number of 36 students. The process of implementing lesson study is carried out in 2 cycles. The results of observation showed that in the learning process there was an improvement in the quality of student interaction in working in groups. This is indicated by the involvement of 3 groups of 6 groups that can complete the tasks given by the teacher with good communication and cooperation. Furthermore, in the second cycle the improvement in the quality of student interaction in discussion is getting better, this is indicated by the existence of 7 groups of 9 groups that can complete the task given by the teacher with good communication and collaboration between group members. As a percentage seen an improvement in the quality of student interaction in discussions by 27.7% of the percentage in the first cycle which only showed 50% and in the second cycle increased to 77.7%.Keywords: communication, collaboration, lesson study

Abstract

Curriculum is an important element in an education. Because the curriculum provides direction and purpose where education will be brought. Therefore, changes and changes in curriculum are routines that are adapted to the demands of changing times. Similarly, the national education curriculum in school s has undergone several changes. The last is the 2013 curriculum. But in reality, most teachers are not ready for the curriculum changes. Because some teachers are not involved in the 2013 curriculum socialization and the information obtained comes from mass media and electronics. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the professional competencies of PAI teachers in the fields of planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. The survey method was chosen as the methodology of this study, with a sample of 62 PAI teachers in East Aceh. The results showed that 1) PAI teachers in East Aceh did not have competencies in the field of learning planning; 2) however, they are able to understand and implement PAI learning with a scientific approach; and 3) PAI teachers are also competent in conducting evaluations with authentic assessments. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference for efforts to improve learning planning and the development of PAI teacher professionalism in a better direction so that the objectives of national education especially PAI subjects can be achieved optimally. Keywords: Teacher professionalism, 2013 curriculum, and Islamic religious education

Abstract

This research departed from the problems that arise related to the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum subjects, especially Islamic Education in Muhammadiyah Pakem Elementary School, the maximum has not been as expected. The objectives of this study are (1) to be able to find out how the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in Islamic Education subjects, (2) to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of the 2013 curriculum at SD Muhammadiyah Pakem. The method of this research is by unstructured interviews and direct observation. The result of this study is SD Muhammadiyah Pakem has implemented the 2013 PAI curriculum especially in the learning process, but its assessment still uses KTSP assessment. This is due to the lack of clarity related to the device or application used for the 2013 Curriculum assessment. The supporting factors for the implementation of the 2013 PAI Curriculum are the existence of adequate human resources, the existence of teachers who are mostly young and energetic. The inhibiting factor is the lack of availability of facilities and infrastructure that support the learning process, as well as the absence of the 2013 PAI curriculum assessment application. The conclusion is that the implementation of the 2013 PAI curriculum has been implemented at Muhammadiyah Pakem Elementary School in the learning process, while its assessment still uses the KTSP assessment. Abstract

We often encounter lesson plans that do not accommodate student differences, use of media that is not accessible to all, lesson plans that are less contextual, do not support all learners, and lack collaboration. Related to the various facts above, the problem of teacher performance, especially in making lesson plans becomes interesting to discuss because the success or failure of inclusive learning depends on the quality of the lesson plans. This research uses content analysis method with mixed method. The approach used is a case study approach, because what is studied is a number of subjects that have specificities, events, actual conditions of circumstances or situations. The data used are four lesson plans written by Tumbuh High School (THS) teachers who study History, Geography, Social Sciences, and Civics. The lesson plan is analyzed to determine the quality in terms of the completeness of the lesson plan components, the compatibility between the lesson plan components, the feasibility of learning objectives, the formulation of learning objectives, the selection and organization of teaching materials, the feasibility of learning activities, the selection of learning resources, the feasibility of evaluating learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used are documentation and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the quality of RPP 1 was classified as good with a score of 71.15%, the quality of RPP 2 was classified as very good with a score of 86.61%, the quality of RPP 3 was classified as very good with a score of 96.15%, and the quality of RPP 4 was also classified as very good with a total score of 76.92%. These four RPPs generally conform to and follow the rules of the UDL principle, which is to consider representation, action & expression, and engagement. Keyword: learning planning, social studies learning

Abstract

Historical relics in both the Royal Age and Colonialism Period, it is necessary to identify and document historical heritage. This becomes important so that it becomes the basis of concern for both the community itself and also from the Regional Government so that it can be used as input in the cultural heritage inventory. This research is to identify historical relics in Muncar sub-district in order to inventory and the results of the study are used as a foothold for stakeholders especially the cultural preservation and historical relics. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design that uses a phenomenological perspective. The selection of respondents used snow ball, in which the sample in this study was the village and sub-district governments as well as cultural and historians in the muncar sub-district. With the results of the study showed that 1. Lack of public awareness to maintain historical heritage sites, 2. Still the role of government is needed to protect and preserve it through education and tourism, 3. Changes in several forms so as to reduce the value and authenticity of the site itself.            Keywords: Historical heritage, Learning Resources, Nationality
