Abstract

Background: Policies and strategies for handling stunting cases effectively and efficiently vary in different regions, depending on their situation and conditions. There has yet to be an empirical study of stunting management with a holistic-comprehensive and integrated approach in Indonesia, especially in Buleleng Regency, Bali. Thus, conducting initial research to analyze the policy and determine the right stunting management strategy to implement is essential.Purpose: This study aims to map stunting cases, explore their causal factors, analyze the suitable policy model for overcoming stunting and describe the effective and efficient stunting management strategy in Buleleng Regency based on a holistic, comprehensive, and integrated approach. Methods: This is a situation analysis case study. Respondents were stunted children and related governmental agencies in Buleleng Regency, Bali. The incidence of stunting, risk factors suspected as the cause, policy models and appropriate stunting handling strategies were analyzed in depth using qualitative and quantitative methods. Results: There were 1040 cases of stunting in the regency, with the highest cases in Banjar District. Significant risk factors influencing the stunting incidence in the region include the lack of good complementary feeding (OR: 2.6722; p <0.05) and low family income (OR: 7.6667; p <0.0001). The results of the analysis of stunting handling policies, based on a holistic-comprehensive and integrated approach model by regional needs, are categorized into two policy areas: Policies in the Medical and Non-Medical fields. In contrast, the handling strategy is divided into two stages: the screening and the handling stages. Conclusion: Poor-quality complementary foods and low family income are the main risk factors for high stunting rates in Buleleng Regency, Bali. These factors must be considered in an effective and efficient policy and strategy model for handling stunting cases in the regency.

Abstract

Background: Bullying behavior among students has become a severe problem that affects their mental and physical well-being. The factors that cause bullying behavior are very complex and involve various aspects. One factor that is receiving increasing attention is alexithymia.Purpose: This study explores the relationship between alexithymia and student bullying behavior. Methods: The research used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional study approach. The research sample consisted of 120 class X students at Senior High School X in Bandung, selected using a total sampling technique. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires, including the Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 (TAS-20) to measure alexithymia and the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire for bullying behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman correlation test. Results: The data obtained show that less than half of the respondents (36.7%) experienced high levels of alexithymia, 38.3% likely experienced possible alexithymia, and 25% did not experience alexithymia, while the majority of respondents exhibited high bullying behavior (43.5%). This study shows a positive relationship between alexithymia and student bullying behavior (p <0.0001; r: 0.309).Conclusion: Alexithymia can increase bullying behavior in school children. The higher the level of alexithymia, the greater the tendency to engage in bullying behavior.

Abstract

Background: Penetrating neck injuries are relatively rare but pose significant challenges due to the concentration of vital structures in this area. This case report presents a unique in-stance of a 20-year-old male with a penetrating neck injury caused by iron splinters, resulting in the rupture of the internal jugular vein and tension pneumothorax.Case Presentation: The patient, a 20-year-old male, presented with restlessness, chest pain, rapid breathing, and a penetrating wound on the left side of the neck. Initial management included needle decompression for tension pneumothorax and radiological assessments to localize the foreign body. C-arm revealed that the foreign body had penetrated the upper left thoracic region and lung parenchyma. The surgical intervention involved repairing the internal jugular vein and performing pulmonary resection to remove the iron splinters. Conclusions: This case highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in managing complex penetrating neck injuries. Advanced imaging techniques and timely surgical interventions are crucial for optimizing patient outcomes. Future research should focus on refining diagnostic protocols and exploring minimally invasive surgical techniques to improve the management of such injuries.
