Abstract

Students' low Reversible Thinking and mathematical problem solving abilities, especially in working on mathematics problems in the form of stories. This research aims to determine and describe the increase in Reversible Thinking and problem solving abilities in mathematics problems in the form of stories after implementing the Newman Procedure in the learning and problem solving process. This type of research is the Kemmis and Taggart model of Class Action Research (PTK) which consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative analysis to describe research results through observation and quantitative analysis techniques to analyze test assessment scores. The results of this research show an increase in students' reversible thinking abilities seen from changes in attitudes and behavior, seen from the ability to read questions quickly and clearly, able to understand the information contained in the reading, easy to transform information into mathematical language, confident to work on questions and able to take responsibility for the answers obtained.

Abstract

Lack of interest in learning inverse matrix mathematics causes a lack of interest in learning mathematics and produces unsatisfactory results. Researchers tried to conduct experimental research on the application of the Index Card Match learning model to mathematics learning outcomes in Inverse Matrix material at SMA Negeri 21 Makassar. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. The data collection techniques used are tests, observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis uses the normality test and the Simple Paired T-Test hypothesis test. The results of this research were hypothesis testing on the pretest and posttest which obtained results of 0.000 < 0.05. H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. From these results, it means that the application of the Index Card Match model has an influence on cognitive mathematics learning outcomes in inverse matrix material for class XI students at SMA Negeri 21 Makassar..

Abstract

This research was carried out at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Indonesian Muslim University, Educational Study Program, with the aim of this research being to determine the effectiveness of the Educational Statistics learning module. The research method uses a quantitative research type with an experimental One Group Pretest-Postest Design approach, with a sample of 20 students from the education study program at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Indonesian Muslim University (FAI-UMI). The results of the research show that the results of the analysis, fulfilling the assumptions of normality and homogeneity, as well as hypothesis testing using the paired t test, show that the average value of post-test Educational Statistics learning outcomes is significantly different and much higher than the average pre-test Educational Statistics learning outcomes. So, it is concluded that the application of the Educational Statistics learning module is effective.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of finding out the effect of the Argument-Driven Inquiry Learning Model on students' mathematical thinking abilities at TNAS KARYA Batang Kuis Middle School for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research method is quantitative and the type of research is Quasi Experimental with the research design being Pretest-Posttest-Only Control Design. The data analysis technique in this research uses analysis prerequisite tests, namely: 1) Normality test, the results of the normality test produce a sig value. from the Pretest and Posttest data for the experimental and control classes is greater than 0.05, so the data is normally distributed, 2) Homogeneity test, the results of the homogeneity test for the Posttest data for the experimental class and control class are 0.479 and the sig. is greater than 0.05, then the variance of the two groups is homogeneous. 3) Hypothesis testing using the t test, the results of the t test show that the significant value (2 tailed) = 0.001 < 0.05. The significant value of the data is smaller than 0.05, so H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Argument-Driven Inquiry learning model on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research that aims to describe the conceptual changes of prospective physics teacher students on the topic of light interference after the application of the Conceptual Change Text. The steps taken are 1) Observation and definition, 2) designing the Conceptual Change Text, 3) collecting student conceptions, 4) applying the Conceptual Change Text in learning, 5) data analysis, and 6) interpretation of student conceptual change data. The subjects of this study were 35 prospective physics teacher students who were programming the Basic Physics course. The results of this study indicate that in the concept of the conditions for the process of light interference are 80% experienced construction and 56% experienced reconstruction; the concept of constructive-destructive interference obtained 82% who experienced construction and 88% who experienced reconstruction; and in the concept of interference in thin layers defined 67% experienced construction and 54% who experienced reconstruction. It can be concluded that most prospective subject teachers with different initial conceptions can achieve deep and complete conceptual understanding through the process of construction (having no conception to becoming a scientific conception) and reconstruction (misconception to becoming a scientific conception) through the Conceptual Change Text.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the factors and the influence of conceptual errors in solving problems in the form of story problems based on newman procedures in terms of mathematical disposition. This research uses a mixed method. The population of this study were seventh-grade students of MTs LAB Al Washliyah Medan with a total of 133 students. The sample was selected by purposive sampling, 30 students for quantitative data and 3 students for qualitative data. Qualitative data analysis methods involve the process of reducing, conveying and verifying data. Meanwhile, quantitative data uses hypothesis testing stages using factor analysis tests, simple linear regression and F tests. The results of qualitative data research show that conceptual errors in solving problems in the form of story problems based on Newman procedures are in line with the criteria for students' mathematical disposition. Quantitative data shows that there is only one factor formed and there is a significant influence between mathematical disposition and concept errors in solving story problems based on newman.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the mathematical concepts found in Ulos Ragidup fabric from an ethnomathematics perspective, focusing on the recognition and understanding of flat shapes. Through a descriptive qualitative approach and ethnographic method, data were collected through direct observation, interviews with resource persons who are experts in ulos weaving, and visual documentation. Data analysis was conducted by reducing, presenting, and interpreting data to identify mathematical patterns in Ulos Ragidup fabric motifs. The results showed that Ulos Ragidup fabric applied several concepts of flat buildings, namely square, equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle, rectangle, and rhombus. The integration of ethnomathematics in the motif of Ulos Ragidup cloth shows that mathematics is not only relevant in the academic context, but also in daily life and local culture. This research is expected to contribute to the development of a more inclusive and contextualized mathematics education, as well as raising awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage through learning integrated with local values

Abstract

Educational math game creates a fun learning experience for students. Following this rationale, this research-and-development study aims to elaborate on the process of developing ICT-assisted instructional media named “GAMA”, an educational math game tailored to Contextual Teaching Learning approach. We analyzed the feasibility of the game media to support the instruction on the concept of numbers at the first grade of elementary education. The subjects of this research were the first-grade elementary school students. The study applied the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages with an evaluation at each stage. The research results demonstrated that the game achieved a decent validity score. The practicality test, conducted through questionnaires and observations, documented a practicality score of 90.36%. In addition, the game satisfied the effectiveness test as evaluated through the comparison of students’ learning outcomes based on the N-Gain score of 0.76. This implied a significant difference between students' understanding before and after using educational math games.
