Abstract

Meat of broilerchicken is one of the many sources of animal protein circulating in the market, but the fat content in broiler meat does not make a lot of interest.This research aims to know the fat content of broiler meat that use boiled leaf mayana (Solenostemon scutellarioides (L.)), it is expected to do the boiling use leaf mayana (Solenostemon scutellarioides (L.)), the fat content of chicken broiler meat have to be reduced so that the quality of meat being better and more healthy for consumption.This study used a randomized complete design (RAL) with 4 treatments and three replicates, treat include the use of leaf mayana (Solenostemon scutellarioides (L.)) as much as 0, 100, 200, 300 grams.Variables observed in the form of a fat content. The results obtained showed that boiling filet use mayana leaf (Solenostemon scutellarioides (L.)) up to 300 grams in moisture content, protein content and fat content tended to decline but not significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to present a sampling technique, making dried herbarium and observation of macro algae cover change in different water conditions, when the pre-conditions of upwelling and upwelling. Samples taken at the study site using line transect method quadrant, the use of 0.5 x 0.5 m quadrant for data percentage cover of macro algae. From the research found 3 classes, 12 orders, 17 families, 23 genera and 33 species with class composition is dominated by the 56% class Rhodophyceae, Chlorophyceae 25%, and the class Phaeophyceae few are found at 19%. Macroalgae closing percentage is very low in pre-upwelling conditions particularly in May with total closing low of 33.9%, and increased every month in upwelling conditions, peak in August amounted to 97.8%.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the change of the quality of fresh selar bentong fish (Selar crumenophthalmus) in storage with room temperature. The fish is previously preserved by using chitosan.The research used the factorial complete random design with two factors: the way in treating the fish (cleaned or uncleaned) and the chitosan concentration. The data were analysed by using the analysis of variance, continued with the Tukey's test and t-test.The results reveal that chitosan gives a significant effect in all parameters that have been analysed. Cleaning treatment with a chitosan concentration of 3% gives a better effect on the chemical value of fresh selar bentong fish from the 1st until the 3rd day. Cleaned and uncleaned selar bentong fish that has been dipped in chitosan solution from the 1st day does not fulfil the organoleptic requirement based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 01 2354.2 2006) for fresh fish which is greater or equal to 7(7). The result of TPC calculation reveals that cleaned selar bentong fish that has been dipped into chitosan solution of 3% gives good result, based on the inhibition of TPC'S growth. The use of chitosan concentration of 3% can be further applied because the concentration of 3% can decrease the number of bacteria and the chemical value, and keep the organoleptic condition of selar bentong fish. This is better than the chitosan concentration of 1% and 2%.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to analyze the feeding effect of bean sprout waste and omega-3 to the spermatozoa production  of garut rams. Twelve garut rams were divided into three groups of feeding; grass + concentrate (R1), bean sprouts waste + concentrate (R2)  and bean sprouts waste + concentrate + omega-3 (R3). The semen were collected by using artificial vagina once a week. Semen evaluated macroscopically              (volume, color, consistency and pH) and microscopically (mass movement, motility, viability, concentration, concentration per ejaculate and morphology of spermatozoa).The research was designed by using a completely randomized design (repeated measurement) and statistically analyzed using SAS 9.1 software. The results showed macroscopy no differences  was found on microscopyc evaluation except for semen volume. Microscopyc evaluation showed that motility, viability and spermatozoa concentration as well as total number per ejaculete feed with R2dan R3 were highger (P<0.05) than R1. However supplementation of omega-3 was no better than feed containing bean sprouts waste.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the size of the gonads mature was the first Penaeus merguiensis shrimp in the District of Naukenjerai Merauke Regency. While its use is as an ingredient of scientific information for the benefit of the sustainable management of the shrimp. The method used is the method of survey, the location of the research: District Semangga Merauke Regency. The study was carried out between March and may of 2011. Analysis of the data are: the development of the gonads, the size of the gonads mature first, and the structure of the length of the carapace. The results obtained are (1) the size of the gonads mature first in the waters of the shrimp Penaeus merguiensis Semangga District, in the range of 51,92mm carapace length for males and 37,28 mm - 39,99 mm for females. For weight, Penaeus merguiensis shrimp reach the size of the first mature gonads in the range of 34,78 gr for males and 20,17gr for females. (2) the size of the shrimp caught is dominated by the size of the immature gonads, which is shrimp with carapace length of 26.5 mm. For the shrimp Penaeus merguiensis fishery management in waters of the Arafura Sea on Naukenjerai District, then the effort required setting nets size from 10 mm to 25.40 mm and the socialization of the regulation and supervision in the field.

Abstract

The combination of organic and anorganic fertilizer treatment can increase rice production. This research aims: (a) to investigate the right compositions of the application of the fertilizing packages which could the best affect the production of paddy crops; (b) to determine the effects the right combination of the N, biological and liquid organic fartilizers on the growth and production of the paddy crops. The methodology used the Split Plot Design (SPD). The results showed that the application of a half dose of urea +2.5 L of Azotobacter + 2.5 L of Azospirillum has given the best and highest number of shoots (10.69 shoots), the highest number of productive shoots (9.52 shoots), the longest panicle (22.10, and the highest number of full grains (84.63 grains/panicle-1). The treatment of the recommendation a half dose of urea + 2.5 L of Azotobacter has given the highest weight of grains (2.67 grams/panicle-1). The best interaction response on the application of the fertilizing packages was packages of 5.0 L of Azotobacter and the application of the liquid organic fertilizers of 6 ccmL-1 which had the lowest empty grains (22.94 grains/panicle-1), and the lowest percentages of empty grains (22.8 grains/panicle-1).

Abstract

The purpose research is to analyze the influence of motivation and social capital towards the agricultural credit loan decision in Kampung Yasa Mulya District Tanah Miring. This research was conducted for two months, from June to July 2016. The sample used Proportional Random Sampling method and the data analysis using binary logistic regresion. The results showed that motivation () and sosial capital () with significant level 95%, significant influence on the farmer decisions of the agricultural credit with a value is 0.027 and 0.004. The farmer who have motivation, 3,155 times higher in the decision on get the agriculture credit loans than other farmer. The farmer who have sosial capital, 4,231 times higher in the decision on get the agriculture credit loans than other farmer. According to the result, financial institution which facilitate agricultural credit loan can provide the best services by socialization of agricultural loans directly to individuals or farmers group.

Abstract

Gunung Meja Natural Tourism Park (GMNTP) as one of a nature conservation area in Manokwari has potency of flora that not been much revealed, for example is Myristicaceae. The study aims to determine the potential of the type and structure of flora Pala-Palaan (Myristicaceae) in GMNTP. The method used is descriptive method with survey techniques. Observations flora of Myristicaceae be done of the seedlings, saplings, poles, and tree. The observation of the seedlings, saplings and poles, using line plot sampling methods, while at the level of the tree using a continuous strip sampling methods. The data collected is the number of species, the number of individuals of each species and diameter. Analysis of data is using formulas the forest vegetation analysis of Dombois and Ellenberg (1974) which includes: density, relative density, frequency, relative frequency, dominance and relative dominance. From the research, it was discovered five species of Myristicaceae family, namely: Myristica simisifera R. Br., Myristica holrungii Warb., Horsfieldia sylvestris Warb., Myristica sulcata Warb., and Knema sp. The results of quantitative analysis showed that the type of dominant seedlings and saplings is Myristica sulcata Warb. (39.716% and 32.434%), whereas at the level of the pole is Horsfieldia sylvestris Warb. (61.420%). For the tree, the dominant species is Myristica sulcata Warb. (44.719%). The above conditions illustrates that Myristica sulcata Warb. as one species of  family Myristicaceae that relatively stable in terms of density and presence on GMNTP. It can be seen from the dominance of this species of the three levels, namely seedlings, saplings and trees.

Abstract

Rawa Biru located in the National Park Wasur Merauke has the potential of fish resources were quite large, both for consumption and ornamental fish. The research purpose is to identify the types of fish that have the potential as ornamental fish. The study was conducted in August 2016. The method used was survey and the data was analyzed descriptively through pictures. The results were obtained six types of fish that have the potential as ornamental fish, they are Iriatherina wirneri, Melanotaenia splendida rubrostriata, Ambassis agrammus, Craterocephalus randi, Glossamia aprion, and Toxotes chatareus.

Abstract

Wild plants vegetation in Merauke area as the main ingredient of botanical pesticides showed that utilization of organism considered as unuseful even as weeds can be utilized as pesticides. Asteraceae is one of the families that has species with antimicrobe contents which potential for botanical pesticides. The study was held in Merauke, and Semangga Districts from August to November 2016. The research method is quantitative. The identification used non-destructive measures, based on plant organism reviews taxonomically. Determination of sample plots used quadrat sampling technique with vegetation analysis. The result showed 16 species of wild plants in the Asteraceae family which have potential as botanical pesticides in Merauke regency. The dominant species with the highest density, frequency of attendance and leaf canopy closure are the species which have high possibility to utilize as botanical pesticides. They are Bidens pilosa dan Vernonia cinerea in Merauke district, with Summed Dominance Ratio sequentially 0,341 and 0,189.  Ageratum conyzoides dan Vernonia cinerea in Semangga district dengan Summed Dominance Ratio sequentially 0,236 dan 0,202.
