Abstract

The objective of this study was to measure the degradation characteristics of feed (in sacco), feed intake and digestibility (in vivo), and determining the index value of 4 types of goats feed (T1 = elephant grass, grass field = T2, T3 = grass kolonjono, T4 = mango leaves). Research in sacco and in vivo requires 4 goats. Each feed (4 replicates) will be incubated for 8, 12, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours, into the rumen of goats. All types of feed are given to the goats were divided into 4 treatment feed. Each goat was given one type of feed. In vivo data were analyzed using a completely randomized experimental design, followed by Duncans test (Steel and Torrie, 1980). Observations intake and digestibility of feed, then predicted from degradation characteristics of feed (in sacco) using multiple-regression analysis. From the regression equation can be further specified index value of feed (Ørskov et al, 1988; Kibon and Ørskov, 1993; Khazal et al, 1992; Shem et al, 1995; Fertile et al, 1999). The best results of In Vivo digestibility is elephant grass, followed by mango leaves feed, kolonjono grass and field grass. Weight gaint generally do not show significant differences. These results indicate that the index values of goats feed varies between one to the other feeds.

Abstract

This research aim is to study the addition effect of leaf powder of Sauropus androgynus in the feed ration local basis to broiler performance. Sixty four broilers, day old chick (doc), were randomly assigned in 16 experimental cages (4 broilers/cage) with the size of 100 cm x 50 cm x 60 cm/cage. The experiment was conducted according to the Complete Randomized Design, consisted of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment was: T0 = basic ration (control), T1 = basic ration + 1%  of Suropus androgynus, T2 = basic ration  + 2% of Suropus androgynus and T3 = basic ration + 3  % Sauropus androgynus. The statistical analysis indicated that the addition effect of Sauropus androgynus leaf powder in the feed ration local basis is not significant (P>0,05) on  the ration consumption, protein consumption and conversion ration to broiler. However, it effects (P<005) to the weight increase and protein efficiency ratio of broiler. Duncan Test indicated that the weight increase of P1, P2, and P3 has an effect (P<0,05) higher than P0. and also for P2 the effect is higher than P1 and P3, but P1 and P3 are not significantly different (P>005). Conclution: 1). The powder addition of Sauropus androgynus in the ration has the same effect on ration consumption, protein consumption, and ration convertion to broiler. 2). The biological data shows that all treatments of powder addition of Sauropus androgynus leaf have an effect in increasing the weight and protein efficiency ratio higher than control.

Abstract

Pembuatan silase TMR dengan memanfaatkan tanaman eceng gondok merupakan salah satu upayaalternatif dalam menjaga ketersediaan pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitaspengaruh penambahan inokulan bakteri L. plantarum terhadap kualitas nutrien silase TMR berbahandasar eceng gondok, yang meliputi kadar air (KA), protein kasar (PK),serat kasar (SK), lemak kasar(LK), protein murni, asam butirat, total asam dan total bakteri asam laktat. Metode yang digunakanadalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 2 x 5, dengan 2 faktor (faktor A dan faktor B) dan3 ulangan. Faktor A adalah tanpa penambahan bakteri (A1) dan dengan penambahan bakteri L.plantarum (A2). Faktor B adalah lama pemeraman, yaitu 4,8,12,16 dan 20 hari (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan penambahan inokulan bakteri L. plantarum tidakberpengaruh nyata sedangkan lama pemeraman berpengaruh nyata terhadap kualitas silase, namunantara kedua faktor tersebut tidak ada interaksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan total bakteri asamlaktat terbaik pada B3, yaitu 1,95 x 107cfu/g. Asam butirat terendah pada B3, yaitu 6,10 g/kg BK.Kadar air dan protein kasar tidak berbeda nyata, namun pada pemeraman selama 12 hari terjadipenurunan lemak kasar dan serat kasar silase, menandakan silase termasuk berkualitas baik. Secarakeseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa silase TMR berbahan eceng gondok tanpa penambahaninokulan bakteri L.plantarum sama baiknya dengan silase yang ditambah inokulan bakteriL.plantarum. Pemeraman selama 12 hari sudah menghasilkan silase TMR berbahan eceng gondokdengan kualitas yang baik.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi penggunaan enzim fitase pada taraf protein ransum yang tepat untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan P pada ayam broiler. Perlakuan dimulai umur 8 hari dengan rerata bobot awal 104,16±13,16g, dipelihara dalam 16 unit percobaan. Masing-masing unit terdiri dari 8 ekor. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu T0 (ransum protein 23%), T1 (ransum protein 21% + enzim fitase 1000 FTU), T2 (ransum protein 23% + enzim fitase 1000 FTU), T3 (ransum protein 23% + tepung tulang 1%) dan 4 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah konsumsi P, retensi P, serta massa P tulang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan enzim fitase dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi P, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap retensi P, koefisien retensi P, kandungan P tulang, dan massa P tulang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan enzim fitase pada ransum protein rendah memberikan hasil penyerapan nutrien yang sama dengan ransum berprotein tinggi.

Abstract

The aims experiment were to study the effect of adding different levels of katuk meal on the levels of cholesterol,triglycerides,LDL,and HDL in the blood of broiler chiken. Sixty four (64) treatment diets according to completely randomized design.  The treatment diets were :P0 = contol, P1 = control + 1 % katuk leaf meal, P2 = Control + 2% katuk leaf meal, P3 = control + 3 % katuk leaf meal.  The replication for each treatment was four giving total number of experimental diet was 16.  Control ration consisted of brn, yellow cron, coconut oil, shrimp waste, fish meal, tofu dregs, soy bean.  During the experiment broiler chiken ware given a free access to drinking water.  The resuls of study indicated that addition of katuk leaf meal into the diet did not affect concentration of cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL in the blood of broiler.  But significantly increased the concentration of blood HDL but had no effects on concenetration of blood cholesterol, blood triglycerides, and blood LDL of broiler.

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to examine the rumen microbial degradation of feedstuffs for ruminant in a consecutive batch culture system (CBC). The feedstuffs were incubated with mixed rumen microbes in the CBC system according to the methods of Ismartoyo dkk (1994), Ismartoyo and Budiman (2000). The results of this experiment indicated that there was variation in the dry matter (DM) loss between feed samples ranging from 31% for markisa seed to 48.2% for jonga-jonga. Similarly the patterns and the slopes of DM losses during 6 serial of incubation varied between the feed samples. The slopes of the DM losses for cacao pods, jonga-jonga, and markisa seed were –0.62, -0.08, dan –2.34, respectively, indicating that rumen microbes failed to adapt to the presences of these three substrates. Whereas the slopes of kapuk seed and markisa pods were 0.20 and 2.23 suggesting that the rumen microbes appeared to adapt to the presence of these two substrates.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh lama inokulasi ampas sagu dengan Aspergillus niger pada waktu yang berbeda terhadap kandungan protein kasar dan kandungan serat kasar dalam kaitannya untuk mencari alternative pakan ternak ruminansia yang murah dan berkualitas baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan ampas sagu yang diinokulasi dengan Aspergillus niger mulai dai 0 jam sampai 114 jam. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) yang terdiri atas Tujuh perlakuan dan Tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama inokulasi ampas sagu dengan Aspergillus niger berpengaruh nyata (P<0.01) baik itu pada peningkatan kandungan protein kasar maupun penurunan kandungan serat kasar. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa peningkatan protein kasar yang paling tinggi yaitu pada H4 (3,45%) da terendah yaitu pada H0 (2,06%) sedangkan serat kasar tertinggi pada H0 (13,04%) dan teredah yaitu pada H6 (8,02%), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ampas sagu hasil inokulasi mengandung protein kasar lebih tinggi dan serat kasar yang lebih rendah dibandingkan yang tidak diinokulasi. Peningkatan lama inokulasi dari 0 sampai 114 jam pada kandungan protein memberikan respon yang bersifat kuadratik dimana puncak tertinggi kandungan protein yang terlihat pada lama inokulasi 120 jam.Peningkatan lama inokulasi dari 0 sampai 114 jam pada kandungan serat kasar terendah terlihat pada lama inokulasi 114 jam.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui daya hambat antibakteri dari pakan yang dikombinasikan denga kunyit, bawang putih, dan zink terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penelitian menggunakan Tepung kunyit, bawang putih dan zink yang dikombinasikan dengan pakan, dengan level berbeda, kemudian diuji daya hambatnya terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli dengan menggunakan metode difusi disk. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan luas zona hambatan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) baik itu pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus maupun Escherichia coli. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa daya hambat terbesar yaitu pada Escherichia coli (3,400 cm) dan terendah yaitu Staphylococcus aureus (1,375 cm), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi kunyit, bawang putih dan zink pada pakan ditiap perlakuan efektif menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Fermentation process that takes place during the making of silage material allows moisture silage will change compared to before made silage, even ensilase process can increase or decrease the nutrients contained in the complete feed. This study examines the changes in water content, fresh weight and dry weight of complete feed silage compared with the complete feed silage has not been made. It is associated with the loss of nutrients that are used in the fermentation process or otherwise there is an increased nutrients formed by the fermentation process. Treatment consisted of six different compositions complete feed silage made, namely: J1 = 50% rice straw + concentrate + 50% 0% mulberry biomass;            J2 = 50% rice straw + 40% + 10% concentrate mulberry biomass; A = 50% rice straw + 30% + 20% concentrate mulberry biomass; J4 = 50% rice straw + 20% + 30% concentrate mulberry biomass; J5 = 50% rice straw + 10% + 40% concentrate mulberry biomass and J6 = 50% rice straw + 0% + 50% concentrate mulberry biomass. The results showed that the weight of the material per unit of fresh whole experiment was not significantly different, there are significant differences in the changes in the water content, fresh weight and dry weight of the material before and after made silage.

Abstract

Urea Molasses Minerals Liquid (UMML) may be a precursor of rumen biofermentation. UMML can provide slow-release nitrogen, minerals and readily available carbohydrate (RAC), but require special studies, especially in determining the type and preparation of constituent materials, especially the provision of water-soluble phosphate minerals. The purpose of this study is to produce a formula of UMML then be used as a precursor of rumen biofermentation. Some of the treatment of super phosphate (SP36) was performed to obtain a preparation method produces dissolved  phosphate  concentrations  are high. Preparation  that  the  highest levels of dissolved phosphate is mixed of super phosphate, organic acids and urea solution, then boiled for 5 minutes. Urea Mineral Molasses liqiud mixed from materials Ca(urea)4Cl2 phosphate solution, saturated NaCl solution and molasses.
