Abstract

Uterine Leiomyoma or fibroid is the most common gynecologic benign neoplasm which arising from monoclonal proliferation of smooth muscle cells in uterine wall. Some specific types of uterine leiomyoma, such ascellular leiomyoma, symplastic leiomyoma, mitotically active leiomyoma andmyxoid leiomyomahave different histomorphology from usual type leiomyoma. It also have wide variety of tumors size, but this study found that no correlation between type of leiomyoma and its size. Additional non-invasive therapy that predominantly developed in leiomyoma include many antagonist agents of estrogenic receptor. So, important to determine of estrogen receptor activity before that hormonal therapy prescription.Histopathology parameter that predict estrogen receptor activity in leiomyoma was not well understood. This study also try to correlate between specific histologic type of leiomyoma and estrogen receptor activity. This study was a retrospective crossectional study which analized by pearson chi-square test with p value < 0.05 and CI 95%. Result: There was significant correlation between specific histologic type of leiomyoma and estrogen receptor expression (p=0.007; p<0.05). Key Words: Leiomyoma, Estrogen Receptor

Abstract

Abstract Antibiotic resistance is closely related to the inappropriate use of antibiotics, namely the indication, dose, frequency, and duration of use. Permenkes No. 5 of 2014 states that acute pharyngitis is given antibiotic therapy if it meets the diagnostic criteria using the center criteria, but this criterion is difficult to apply because doctors take longer to diagnose. Previous research at the Klungkung I Primary Health Center used diagnosis utilizing a swab test. It was found that 100% of bacterial pharyngitis patients were negative. The strategy of delaying antibiotics for 3 days can prevent antibiotic resistance, but in therapy, without antibiotics, it is important to increase the effectiveness of therapy, it is deemed necessary by the researchers to conduct a study to analyze the factors that affect the recovery of patients with acute pharyngitis, which are mainly caused by viruses. Analyzing the factors that affect the recovery of viral pharyngitis patients. The design of the cross-sectional study was through observation of the medical record data of patients who came to the Klungkung Primary Health Center I for 3 months and got diagnostic facilities using the swab test. Patients who got a negative swab test were analyzed for the factors that influenced their recovery. Anti-inflammatory variables, rest, and paracetamol significantly affected the recovery of acute pharyngitis patients (p <0.05), and the importance index in CART analysis found that paracetamol was the most influential, followed by rest, administration of vitamins, and anti-inflammatory. Antibiotics, anti-allergies, and cough medicines do not affect the recovery of patients with acute pharyngitis viral. Paracetamol has the most effect on patient recovery, followed by rest and administration of vitamins, anti-inflammatory has very little effect on the recovery in patients of acute pharyngitis viral. Keywords: acute pharyngitis, cure, CART.

Abstract

Abstract Nigella sativa (N. sativa) has been used in traditional medicine, and several studies have been performed in the last decades to reveal its effects of it on different medical disorders such as diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and obesity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Nigella sativa extract in an alloxan-induced mice model. This research was a true experimental post-test-only control group design. Eight-weeks old male Mus musculus were treated with alloxan (150 mg/ kg) by a single intraperitoneal injection to induce diabetes mellitus. At three days of injection, N. sativa extract (150 and 300 mg/kg) was administered via gavage for two weeks. The result of this study showed that N. sativa seed extract had a significant (P<0.05) nephroprotective effect on the kidneys based on the degree of kidney damage in alloxan-induced mice. This effect may be due to Nigella sativa’s antioxidant properties. Keywords: Nigella sativa, histology kidney, oxidative stress

Abstract

OBJECTIVE. To observe the proportion of high blood pressure and high blood glucose, cholesterol and uric acid among people aged 45 years and older at the rural villages of Pejeng, Samplangan and Petak, in Gianyar Regency, Bali. METHODS. The survey’s samples were all persons aged 45 years and over who came voluntarily to participate in the survey. Blood pressure was measured by mercury sphygmomanometer (Nova). Non-fasting levels of serum glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid were assessed by rapid test method using Easy Touch CGU apparatus. Each parameter studied was categorized as “high” and “normal” (blood pressure high: ≥140/90 mmHg; blood cholesterol high: ≥200mg/dl; blood glucose high ≥200mg/dl; blood uric acid high: >7.0 mg/dl, while other measurements below those values were categorized as normal. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables of frequencies. RESULTS. A total of 650 people aged 45 years and above participated in the survey (Samplangan village: 157 people, Pejeng village: 168 people, Petak village: 225 people). Of 650 study subjects examined, 43.8% had high serum cholesterol, 22.8% had high blood pressure, 26.3% had high serum uric acid, and 9.8% had high blood glucose. According to gender, 49.5% males and 38.2% females had high blood cholesterol, 27.3% males and 20.5% females had high blood pressure, 38.4% males and 20.3% females had high blood uric acid, and 11.1% males and 9.4% females had high blood glucose, respectively CONCLUSIONS. In respective three villages greatest proportion of the study subjects had high serum cholesterol, followed in order of decreasing proportions by either high blood pressure or high blood uric acid, and the lowest proportion was with high blood glucose.

Abstract

Abstract Mesenteric ischemia is a rare etiology of abdominal pain caused by impaired blood flow to the mesenteric circulation. This condition has acute and chronic variations and is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Early diagnosis is needed to determine management and prevention efforts towards a worse prognosis. The main principles of management of mesenteric ischemia are the restoration of bowel perfusion and resection of the necrotic bowel. This review will discuss the basic materials, diagnosis, and patient management strategies based on the conditions and causes of mesenteric ischemia. Keywords: mesenteric ischemia, necrosis, thrombosis, embolism

This article aims to investigate the mental health symptoms and disorders of Covid-19 survivors. This was observational and cross-sectional research. A total of 175 respondents participated, 84% of them being women and 16% being men. Their work history includes health workers at 75.4% and others at 24.6%. Respondents who have experienced anxiety are 32%, sadness was 25.7%, fear was 22.9%, and panic was 14.3%. The logistic regression showed that all of the tested characteristics have no significant effect on the respondents’ mental states of anxiety, fear, and panic, with p-values of 0.388, 0.893, and 0.166; 0.245, 0.691, and 0.353; 0.612, 0.410, and 0.828. However, from the test results, it was observed that gender has a significant effect on sadness with a p-value of 0.027 and OR value of 5.308 (CI = 1.204-23.399). The percentage of women respondents that experienced sadness was 29.3% and men respondents were 7.1%. Other characteristics, which are age and work history, have no significant effect on sadness, with p-values of 0.650 and 0.844 respectively. There are no variables that affect anxiety, fear, and panic. Feelings of sadness in patients are influenced by gender. Keywords: anxiety; Covid-19; mental disorder; mental health
