Abstract

Lithium-borate glasses medium doped Erbium (Er3+) active ion have been prepared by melting-quenching technique. The glasses medium followed composition (mol%): (65-x)B2O3 - 5ZnO - 5Li2O - 15 Na2O - 10PbO - xEr2O3 (with x = 0; 0,05; 0,1; 0,5; 1,0; 2,0 dan 4,0 mol%). Sample with powder form are mixed in the crucible alumina and melted at temperature 12000 C by using of electrical furnance. After poured in to stainless stell, glasses sample were annealed with the decreases rate 70 C per minute. Physical properties og glass medium such as density, molar volume and refractive index were inviestigated. From measured results can be known that Er3+ ion doped with lithium borate glass can affect physical properties of glass host medium. Density of glass is increased from 2.96 gr/cm3 (x = 0.1 mol%) to 3.185 gr/cm3 (x = 4 mol%). Refractive index of glass medium also increased with addition Er3+ ion concentration. The maximum refractive index is obtained when Er 3+ ion concentration of 2.0 mol%. Based on research results can be explained that Er3+ doped Lithium-Borat glasses can be used as one of optical gain candidate.

Abstract

Marine activity is affected by weather condition and state of sea. Weather analysis satellite is very important for monitoring atmospheric dynamics in global, regional, and local scale because it has a high spatial and temporal resolution. One of application which can be used for analysis satellite imagery is SATAID (Satellite Animation and Interactive Diagnosis). This paper studied about utilization of of SATAID data for analyzing atmosphere condition in case study of KM Sakinah sinking boat on May 16th 2012 at16.00 UTC. We used SATAID, precipitation estimation data from Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satelite, weather condition from Belawan Marine Station synoptic observation, wind and wave height data on May 16th 2012. The results showed that SATAID was very useful for analyzing atmosphere condition in waters area. Top cloud temperature around the incident location reached -780 C during incident, so we estimated that Cumulonimbus (Cb) cloud existed. The potential vorticity and showalter stability index showed that atmosphere condition around incident location was labil, so it had more chance to be raining heavily accompanied by thunderstorm (TS) and strong wind. The observed rain cloud had already covered around the incident location since 15.00 UTC and then reached the mature phase at 16.00 UTC. Satellite TRMM data and obsevation data from Belawan Coast showed that weather condition during incident (16.00 UTC) was moderate rain with TS.

Abstract

The church is one of the buildings that has a solemn image and wisdom, so the difference from the sound pressure, the loudness of the sound and the sound journey that will determine the quality and quantity of the resulting sound impact the comfort of each congregation and the purpose of each event. In an effort to meet the standards of a church worship space, this research is aimed at knowing the distribution of parameter values residing in the congregation. The parameters evaluated include the spreading of the sound pressure level, the dispersion of the humming time, the distribution of the sound clarity of D50 (definition) and the C80 (clarity) of the musical sound. In this research, the testing was done in the X church worship room in Surabaya. From the measurement and analysis it is found that the value of noise criteria in the X church worship room is NC 40 s.d NC 45. This value is still above the recommended noise level for the function of the church worship room. The humming time parameter ranges from 0.42 to 0.568 seconds. The C80 value ranges from 2.94 dB to 12.38 dB. So overall the value of the humming time has not met the standard and for the value of C80 still not meet the standard. Meanwhile, for the value of D50 which states the clarity of vowel sounds worth between 36.82% to 86.96% has met the standard at some point, for space with speech function.

Abstract

The study of groundwater has been done at Agrotecnopark Cangar using resistivity method. Data acquisition were performed by using dipole-dipole mapping configuration along 11 lines in 2 regions. Inversion method is carried out on the acquisition data using Res2dinv software. The result of inversion is distributed resistivity value in depth laterally sections. They represents subsurface structure from each line in 2D and 3D form. Based on result known in the research area dominated by high resistivity. The region 1 (AL 01 - 05) has low resisistivity in ranged 100-500 Ohm.m. which their depth arround 5 meters below ground surface. The resistivity range is suspected as the water-content layer so the layer has a low groundwater potential for region 1. While in region 2 (AL06 - AL11) has resistivity dominated by high resistivity >1000 Ohm.m. The value indicates in region 2 has no potential for groundwater.

Abstract

The luminance of Zinc Oxide materials has been synthesized using the phase solution method. The calcination process is carried out at a temperature of 8000 C. Performed phase identification, optical characterization, and luminance intensity generated by ZnO synthesis results. Addition of doping was done by using doping concentration of 1%, 3%, and 5% with a calcination temperature of 3000 C to obtain ZnO: Zn. We do phase identification and optical characterization of the three samples produced. The intensity of luminescence was tested to determine the effect of adding doping concentrations to the emissions produced by luminance materials ZnO: Zn. Obtained luminance material results emit green emissions with 510 nm to 535 nm wavelength range. The higher the doping concentration will be the more activators (doping) in the host (ZnO) that absorbs the energy for the excitation process so that the higher emission intensity emitted.
