Abstract

Hukum dan kekuasaan mempunyai hubungan yang sangat erat, hubungan itu dapat di gambarkan seperti satu mata uang dengan dua sisi. Hubungan simbolik hukum dan kekuasaan melahirkan hubungan fungsional di antara keduanya.  Kekuasaan menpunyai fungsi sebagai alat untuk membentuk hukum, menegakan hukum, dan melaksanakan hukum. Sedangkan fungsi hukum terhadap kekuasaan meliputi alat untuk melegalisasi atau menjustifikasi kekuasaan, alat untuk mengatur dan mengontrol kekuasaan, dan juga alat untuk mengawasi dan mewadahi pertanggungjawaban kekuasaan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact from the strategies that used by investors in Indonesia, such as value, size and momentum strategy. Sample data is a monthly data of 100 non-financial individual stocks which fulfill the requirement, from July 2006 – December 2010 and use 12 months holding period. This research also use ARCH method to test heteroscedasticity and VIF method to test multicolinearity. The outcome form this research is value strategy based on book to market ratio, size strategy based on market capitalization and momentum strategy based on past six months price are not significant in Indonesia. This can be happened because of the depreciation in Indonesia currency and crisis years. In addition, Indonesia is one of emerging market in Asia, so that some of the information must be difficult and make imperfect market.

Abstract

This paper presents a Lexical-Functional Grammar (LFG) description of Indonesian structures with a verbal predicate. The similarity of Indonesian and English in this type of construction has enabled the application of the original patterns of LFG for the English structures on its Indonesian counterparts. However, some adjustment has to be made in the description of the constituent structure (c-structure). The Indonesian constituent structure here is unique in that whilst it is organized endocentrically, it uses lexocentric means of function identification. Another different feature description that distinguishes the Indonesian LFG representation from the English one is the absence of the features for tense and agreement in the feature structure (f-structure) due to the fact that Indonesian structures are not subject to tense and number agreement. The number feature, however, appears in the c-structure merely to show the status of the subject in terms of singularity or plurality. In addition to the distinctive descriptions above, some constraints and thematic arguments based on the Lexical Mapping Theory have to be applied in the phrase structure rules to accommodate some peculiar characteristics of Indonesian verbal structures, such as those dealing with the position of adjuncts and oblique objects.

Abstract

This essay describes some benefits of implementing ICT in classroom, especially within the area of collaborative and self-managed learning. However, implementing ICT in classroom is not an easy and simple matter. There are many issues which should be addressed. Those issues range from the school culture, teachers barriers, finance, leadership, curriculum, and ethical issues. Those problems are experienced by both developed and developing countries. This also refutes a widespread assumption that developing countries experience more barriers for implementing ICT than developed countries.

Abstract

Writing is a skill derived from a long way of learning and exercises. Different from other language skills, writing is considered the difficult language skill to acquire since it involves many aspects of linguistics, social, and writing knowledge and conventions. There are at least three important elements of writing useful to produce a good piece of composition, language competence, writing competence and cultural  competence. This paper shows the influence of these three elements in order to produce good, readable, communicative, and successful writing.

Abstract

Dengan semakin berkembangnya komunikasi internasional saat ini, seseorang dituntut untuk memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa global, diantaranya adalah bahasa Inggris. Salah satu alat untuk mengukur kemampuan berbahasa Inggris adalah dengan menggunakan TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Languge). iBT TOEFL ( Internet Base Test TOEFL)  mengukur kemampuan pembelajar untuk memahami, menggunakan dan mengerti bahasa Inggris ditingkat Universitas, disamping itu, test ini juga mengevaluasi seberapa baik pembelajar menggabungkan keterampilan mendengarkan/menyimak (listening), berbicara (speaking), membaca (reading), dan menulis (writing) dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini akan mengembangkan Sistem E-learning untuk pembelajaran (Pelatihan dan Tes) TOEFL menggunakan jaringan intranet yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan TOEFL pembelajar dengan memberikan hasil keluaran berupa kelemahan seseorang dalam menjawab soal-soal tes. iBT TOEFL terdiri atas  4 (empat) bagian tes yaitu Listening, Writting, Reading dan Speaking. Sistem E-learning ini akan disertai dengan soal-soal latihan yang disesuaikan dengan kelemahan kemampuan TOEFL dari pembelajar/pengguna. Dengan demikian diharapkan Sistem E-learning ini dapat membantu pembelajar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan TOEFL sehingga target nilai TOEFL yang diinginkan dapat tercapai. Dalam sistem E-learning ini juga disediakan jalur komunikasi suara antara pembelajar/pengguna dengan penilai (assessor) yang dikembangkan dengan teknologi VoIP untuk membantu pengguna dalam melatih teknik berbicara (speaking) dalam bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Some EFL teachers spend a great deal of time searching for textbooks appropriate to their learner’s needs. But these teachers usually discover that the chosen textbook does not contain exactly what their students require. In order to ensure that the language and content covered in the materials are suitable to the learners’ need and that the students are properly prepared for the real life situations of the target language, teachers are often required to write their own instructional materials from authentic sources.This paper presents a course outline to develop a material for ESP class that can be used by TEFL teachers with an ESP audience. The texts used for the materials development are taken from authentic sources.

Abstract

This article provides a literature review on the comparison between theories of learning and theories of training. Despite their equally vital roles in the improvement of human capital quality, it turns out that almost all of the training theories have been based, as their ground, on the learning theories. The learning theories, on the other hand, have long been established with a firm ground philosophically, psychologically, and pedagogically. This strong foundation has made learning theories such a trade mark that looks so firm, stable and reliable. As a general finding, this article concludes that there are indeed some theories of training that are applicable for individual and organizational training. However, such theories are obviously not equally comparable to the theories of learning.

Abstract

UKM merupakan salah satu motor penggerak perekonomian rakyat, terutama rakyat menengah ke bawah. Meskipun secara agregat kontribusi terhadap pendapatan daerah adalah kecil dibandingkan dengan pengusaha besar, namun UKM banyak menolong masyarakat banyak pada waktu perekonomian Indonesia terpuruk.Masalah utama dari sulit berkembangnya UKM adalah karena daya kreatif dan inovatif yang relatif rendah. Hal ini terutama didukung dengan latar belakang pendidikan mereka yang rendah, selain itu para pengusaha ini tidak mudah mendapatkan modal untuk mengembangkan usahanya karena kelemahan dalam bidang administrasi dan pembukuan keuangan mereka. Kelemahan lain adalah pada konsep produk, terutama kemasan (packing), yang sering kali melupakan faktor kebersihan dan kesehatan.Untuk itu, pelatihan ini diadakan untuk memberi ketrampilan bagi para UKM di Kecamatan Tandes khususnya agar mereka terbiasa dan mahir dalam mengelolah keuangan secara modern. Setidaknya mereka tidak kesulitan jika mengajukan pinjaman ke bank untuk mengembangkan usahanya. Pelatihan ini juga untuk membekali pengetahuan para UKM tentang teknik dan model kemasan yang menarik dan sesuai dengan produk-produk mereka.

Abstract

Peningkatan mutu pendidikan harus ditingkatkan terus menerus danberkesinambungan. Total Quality Management adalah salah satumodel atau metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan mutupendidikan di lembaga pendidikan. Total Quality Managementmerupakan salah satu kunci keberhasilan tujuan pendidikan yangpaling efektif. Karena TQM mengedepankan integrasi dari semuafungsi dan proses serta memberdayakan dan melibatkan semua unsuryang ada di lemabaga pendidikan tersebut. TQM harus diberlakukanterus menerus dan berkesinambungan demi tercapainya tujuanpendidikan, yang memberikan kepuasan kepada peserta didik, orangtua dan masyarakat.
