Abstract

Villages obtain their sources of income from original village income, transfers, and other income. Considerable income makes the village government demand to increase transparency and accountability along with the development of public sector accounting. However, transparency and accountability are still a problem for some villages. This study aimed to determine the effect of transparency and accountability on the financial management in 13 villages in Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency. The data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to 83 respondents, selected using the purposive sampling method. The data analysis methods included a validity test, reliability test, t-test, f-test, coefficient of determination test, multiple linear regression, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, and descriptive statistics. Partial testing with t-test showed that transparency had no significant effect on village financial management because some respondents answered that they disagreed. Therefore, it can be concluded that transparency had been implemented but not yet maximized. While accountability partially had a significant effect on village financial management, accountability had run well. Based on the simultaneous testing results with the f-test, transparency and accountability simultaneously positively affected village financial management. Keywords: village financial management, village government, transparency, accountability, multiple linear regression

Abstract

Competence is a set of knowledge, skills, and behaviors that teachers or lecturers must possess, appreciate, and master in carrying out professional duties. Lecturers as professional educators are required to have competence as the spearhead of the teaching and learning process. Teuku Umar University (UTU), as one of the state universities in Aceh Province, is required to improve its lecturers' competence by looking at the role of knowledge sharing, motivation, and need-for-cognition of its lecturers. This study aimed to analyze the effect of knowledge sharing, motivation, and need for cognition on lecturers' competence at UTU by using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that knowledge sharing and need-for-cognition had a positive effect on the lecturers' commitment, while motivation had no positive effect on lecturer commitment. However, motivation had a positive effect on lecturers' knowledge sharing, while need-for-cognition had no positive effect on lecturers' knowledge sharing. Based on the research results, UTU should facilitate its lecturers to carry out knowledge sharing activities that could be implemented through knowledge management. As for need-for-cognition, it is expected that UTU would create a new cognitive need, such as holding new knowledge competitions or rewards for lecturers who find discoveries. Keywords: competence, knowledge sharing, motivation, need-for-cognition, SEM-PLS

Abstract

One way to obtain information is through online trading, which also serves as a place for transacting. Personality is a factor that affects how a person behaves and makes decisions, including behavioral finance. This research aimed to analyze the effect of investors' personality on online trading use behavior and investors' risk preference. The data were obtained from online questionnaires distributed through social media with a total of 240 respondents. This research used a structural equation modeling (SEM) to measure the relationship between latent variables, namely the five personality variables of the International Personality Pool Item-Big Five Model (IPIP-BFM), investors' risk preference, and online trading behavior. The data were processed using SPSS and SEM-PLS. The result indicated that openness to experience positively and significantly affected online trading use behavior and investors' risk preference. Conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism insignificantly affected online trading use behavior and investors' risk preference. The behavior of using online trading had a positive and significant effect on risk preference. The result showed that if investors were more open to something, they would use online trading more intensely and become more risk-seeker. Abstract

Public financial management transparency and accountability is one of the implementations of good governance. The Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) has developed the Integrated Budget Implementation Information System (SIPADU) application to monitor the government's financial management to achieve accountable and transparent financial management. SIPADU has been built and used, but its implementation has not yet achieved an optimal function. This study found that it is related to the SIPADU management evaluation, maturity level, and SIPADU governance improvement. This study aimed to analyze SIPADU maturity level using the COBIT 4.1 approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, and the respondents were users and administrators of SIPADU. Interviews were conducted, in addition to the questionnaire results measurement. The data were calculated to determine the maturity level. The results showed that the SIPADU maturity level was still level 3 below the expected level, namely level 4. The agency's management is recommended to develop SIPADU. Abstract

This study aimed to examine the conceptual model covering the variable of love-of-money, religiosity, organizational commitment, salary satisfaction, and ethical behavior on the samples of Muslim employees in the banking sector. This study used a quantitative design by collecting data from 637 respondents based on purposive sampling. The data processing was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, with LISREL 8.8 software. This study found that love-of-money directly and negatively affected ethical behavior, while religiosity had a significant and positive effect on ethical behavior. Unlike the love-of-money variable that only directly and significantly affected ethical behavior, this study proved the indirect effect of religiosity on ethical behavior through salary satisfaction and organizational commitment. Abstract

Environmental performance carried out by the company can be an indicator of how well the company carries out the level of environmental management. This study aimed to examine the effect of environmental performance on the stock performance of public companies listed in the SRI KEHATI index in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The samples consisted of 22 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and included in the index during 2017-2019. Environmental performance is measured through environmental performance reporting that refers to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard Series 300. The standard consists of 8 components. Meanwhile, stock performance is measured by the value of Cumulative Abnormal Return (CAR). The data were processed using regression after testing the classical assumptions previously. The results showed that companies with a good stock performance report had a good environmental performance, as indicated by the t-test value, which all had a positive direction. Besides, the components of energy, biology, waste, and environmental compliance had statistically significant effects. This research implied that companies and investors need to pay attention to the efforts to submit environmental performance following the standards because it is proven to be able to influence firm value through its stock performance. Abstract

The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) was declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. The main pandemic countermeasure with physical distancing and limitation to travel heavily damaged the airline industry around the world, which slumps the direct revenue to the company. Hence, the industry should utilize this tight cash flow and the volatility business due to high operating costs and the high cost of labor. (SGX: CL6), Thai Airways International (BKK: THAI), and Eva Air (TPE:2618). This study's results indicate financial distress and possibly to be bankrupt for two national airlines company, especially in Garuda Indonesia and Thai Airways, compared to other selected national airlines. Abstract

The purpose of the current study is to propose the relationships among salary satisfaction, work relationship, and employee performance. A three-dimension of employee performance (i.e., task, adaptive, and contextual) is used in this study. The triachy measure of individual performance is suggested as a comprehensive measure to be employed in the business-oriented context. Economic- and social exchange theory were used to conceptualize the proposed hypotheses. A total of 118 responses from employees of an Indonesian company were analyzed in the hypotheses testing. The results suggested that both salary satisfaction and work relationship were positively related to employee performance. The independent variables were also positively related to all dimensions of employee performance. Furthermore, work relationship moderated the salary satisfaction-employee performance relationship. Theoretical and practical implications as well as the limitation of this study are discussed. Overall, this work advises that salary satisfaction and relationship at work are both necessary for employe performance improvement.
