Abstract

Digital library services in the implementation creating an ecological metaphor of information technology perspective. An ideal ecological information will create an ideal interaction between people, technology, values and activities. In the implementation, in Indonesia, the paradigm of the library problem where it presence is still underestimated, so that the implementation of a digital library is only done half-heartedly. The existence of a state to resist change may be one of the causes of this situation. Or maybe not.

Abstract

Abstract. In the context of the mosque as a place of worship widely, one of which is a mosque used as a place for education and training activities of the people. This research aims to pioneer the implementation of the library as a means of reading and studying in the library of the mosque. The method used is the technique of PRA (Participatory Research Appraisal), with the steps: (1) conduct a discussion and shared learning about the mosque's congregation of reading and its implications for the intellectual development  of Muslims in general; (2) provides a means of learning and reading in the form of a number of books on general science and religion; (3) perform activities of assistance to pilgrims in learning and reading according to specialization. Results of the study show that, since the library of the mosque, indirectly, learning activities and reading in the mosque, began to awaken. This activity in practice to be a part of the functioning of the mosque library attendance among the people.Keywords: Mosque Library, learning activity, reading Habit.Abstrak. Dalam konteks masjid sebagai tempat ibadah secara luas, salah satu fungsinya adalah masjid dijadikan tempat kegiatan untuk pendidikan dan pembinaan umat. Penelitian ini bertujuan merintis penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sebagai sarana kegiatan membaca dan belajar di Perpustakaan Masjid. Metode yang digunakan adalah teknik PRA (Participatory Research Appraisal), dengan langkah-langkah: (1) melakukan kegiatan diskusi dan pembelajaran bersama jamaah masjid mengenai membaca dan implikasinya bagi perkembangan intelektual umat islam pada umumnya; (2) menyediakan sarana belajar dan membaca berupa sejumlah buku tentang ilmu pengetahuan umum dan keagamaan; (3) melakukan kegiatan pendampingan kepada jamaah dalam belajar dan membaca sesuai dengan  peminatan. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa, sejak adanya perpustakaanmasjid, secara tidak langsung kegiatan belajar dan membaca di lingkungan masjid, mulai terbangun. Kegiatan ini pada prakteknya menjadi bagian dari berfungsinya kehadiran perpustakaan masjid di tengah umat.Kata kunci: Perpustakaan Masjid, kegiatan belajar, Membaca

Abstract

Abstract, Information literacy is an important skills for 21st century learners. One of methods to evaluate the implementation of information literacy program in school library is assessment of information literacy competence. The objectives of this research were to establish a standard of information literacy for Indonesian students and to design a webbasedinformation literacy assessment system. This research employed Delphi technique with two rounds questionnaire distributed among panelists of 9 experts. The experts consists of three school librarians, two teachers and four information literacy researchers. Six standards and 40 performance indicators were identified as information literacy standard. The design ofsystem resulted models which presented in System Flowchart, Data Flow Diagram and Entity-Relationship Diagram.Keywords: competency standard, information literacy assessment, web-based system

Abstract

Abstract. This research identifies the information seeking behavior of women who reside in the slum area of Kampung Poncol, Jakarta, Indonesia in the fulfillment of the triple role; those are reproductive, productive, and social. A qualitative approach with phenomenology method is used in this research while the data are collected by non-participant observation and in-depth interview with six participants. The results of this research show that the steps of information seeking behavior of those women are the initiation, selection, formulation, collection, and presentation; while the exploration step does not appear at all. Based on the role of reproduction needed by the informants in relation to their role as housewives, the information needed by the women are about the price of basic commodities, family healthcare and well-being, children education, as well as information about the flood. On the productive role, the information needed are vary among the informants depends on their occupations. While for the social role, the information needed by the informants are related to personal health, fashion, entertainment, and politics. The primary source of information is informal source those are relatives and neighbors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pelayanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. Adapun secara khusus tujuan penelitian tersebut adalah 1) Untuk mengetahui hubungan fasilitas fisik layanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. 2) Untuk mengetahui hubungan kecepatan pelayanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. 3) Untuk mengetahui hubungan kemudahan mendapatkan informasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. 4) Untuk mengetahui hubungan perhatian pustakawan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif studi deskriptif analisis korelasional yaitu meneliti sejauh mana hubungan pelayanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah pemustaka Perpustakaan UPI pada bulan Maret 2013. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan Accidental Sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistik deskriptif, analisis statistik parametris, dan uji hipotesis melalui rumus Koefisien Korelasi oleh Pearson Product Moment.   Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui pelayanan sirkulasi memiliki hubungan yang rendah dengan pembentukan citra perpustakaan. Hasil pengujian hubungan pelayanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra perpustakaan menunjukkan indikator fasilitas fisik, kemudahan mendapatkan informasi dan perhatian pustakawan sirkulasi berada pada kategori sedang, sementara indikator kecepatan pelayanan sirkulasi berada pada kategori rendah. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dari pelayanan sirkulasi dengan pembentukan citra Perpustakaan UPI.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini membahas tentang dukungan orangtua dalam membangun literasi anak, dengan mengambil kasus siswa kelas 3 dan 4 MI Muhammadiyah Gandatapa, Kecamatan Sumbang Kabupaten Banyumas. Literasi yang secara sederhana diartikan keberaksaraan atau melek, yang mana kemampuan literasi ini sangat penting untuk dikuasai anak. Kementerian pendidikan dan kebudayaan telah meluncurkan program gerakan literasi sekolah pada tahun 2015 yang lalu, tak lain untuk menumbuhkan minat baca anak-anak Indonesia. Pelibatan publik/masyarakat sangat diperlukan untuk mensukseskan program ini. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dukungan orang tua dalam membangun literasi anak di MI Muhammadiyah Gandatapa? Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa: mayoritas anak-anak menyukai cerita/dongeng, jenis cerita yang disukai adalah legenda, fabel, siroh nabawi dan IPTEK. Semua anak mengetahui kalau membaca itu penting. Sebagian orang tua memberikan cerita/ dongeng dan menyediakan buku bacaan dirumah, semua orang tua memberikan dukungan dengan menyuruh anaknya membaca dan sebagian orang tua mendampingi anaknya membaca. Semua orang tua pernah memberikan hadiah kepada anak, dan sebagian besar belum pernah memberikan hadiah berupa buku bacaan. Kata kunci: Literasi, Membaca, Cerita, Dukungan orang tua. Abstract. This paper discuss about parental support on building child literacy, based on case study of students year 3 4 MI Gandatapa, Sumbang Districk, Banyumas Regency. Literacy, simply put as ability to write and read, is vital to be mastered. The Ministry of Education and Culture had realeased school literacy movement program in 2015, aimed to boost Indonesian children reading interest. Public involvement is required to success this program. This research uses descriptive quantitative approach. The problem in question is how is parents support in building studenys literacy in MI Muh Gandatapa. The research discover that students were interested in story, i.e. legends, fable, Siroh Nabawi (Prophets biography), and science technology. All students understood the importance of reading. Some parents told stories and provided reading material in home, all parents gave support by ordering them to read and some accompanied the activity. All parents had given gift to the student, and more than half have not given reading books.  Keywords: Literacy, Reading, Storytelling, Support Parents

Abstract

The era in which the exstense of ICT brings with it enlightenment in every aspect of life changes of paradigms in libraries exists. The change includes a transfer in system – from conventional type of services to ICT-based services with some orientation for the sake of users’ needs. The innovations taking place in libraries are influenced by 10 issues: "... a) the presence of electronic paper, b) new publishing model, c) on-line bookstore, d) e-commerce, e) digital television, f) integrated learning environment , g) remote university, h) mobile communication, i) print-on-demand, j) the threat og the unknown". The change in paradigms leads to manajerial which formely management bound to merely build and develop library collection, product-oriented services of information to ICT-based services management. Three major ICT-based services comprise human resources and non human resources, proactive kind of services and users empowerment. Accordingly, libraries an entitiy need to be managed bt human resources with managerial competence (leading, planning, organizing dan controlling), bibliograpical and library technological know-how, human relation skill, ability to work in team, elite type of conduct, elegance and intelligence, being ordered, ordered, school curriculum, writing competency, publishing, users needs, work partnership, ability of reading publisher’s catalog both printed and online, desoiderata, budgeting, statistics, accesion list, registration book, classification, catalouging both manually and in an electronic mode, indexing, writing an abstract, accessories, shelving, binding, fumigation, camouflaging, and others), services competency, users-oriented services, users empowering, wide horizons, expertise in one field of dicipline, knowledge of principles and techniques in guidance and counseling, social sciences, psychology and culture, library technological know-how, communication skill, human resources skill, emphaty, attractive appearance, fair, helpful, information and science know-how, form-making skil, flow charts of services, organizing materials, guides/labels, rules and policy, correspondency, shelving,PERPUSTAKAAN reporting/evaluating/statistic, punishment, how to use library education, simple general infromation, good sense of media, answeing reference questions skill, helping people to obtain information through face to face contact, assistance to readers in searching information, bibliographical searching/service, and competency and ICT (the use of hardware and implementing of all softwares on all operational activities in the library). The competency of human development at schools/madrasah should refer to Act #43/2007 on Library and the Ministry Regulations #25/2008 on Standard of School Librarians.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pelayanan yang dilakukan oleh perpustakaan secara langsung ataupun tidak akan menimbulkan citra perpustakaan baik citra positif maupun negatif. Citra tersebut menimbulkan persepsi pengguna dan akhirnya membuat penilaian pengguna terhadap perpustakaan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis ingin mengetahui mengenai tingkat persepsi pengguna atas kualitas layanan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi negeri yang meliputi dimensi affect of service, information control, library as place. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang sifatnya deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data kuisioner dengan teknik sampling nonrandom sampling dengan kriteria purposive sampling di Perpustakaan Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) dan Perpustakaan Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). Teknik pengolahan data yakni dengan membuat nilai rata-rata di setiap indikator kualitas layanan. Konsep kualitas layanan yang digunakan adalah LibQual+™ yang terdiri dari affect of service, information control, dan library as place. Hasilnya bahwa nilai rata-rata penilaian pengguna pada kinerja ketiga perpustakaan di atas adalah baik. Untuk perpustakaan UNESA dan ITS, urutan penilaian dari yang terbaik oleh pengguna adalah library as place, information control dan affect of service. Urutan penilaian pengguna atas dimensi yang terbaik pada perpustakaan Unair secara berturut-turut adalah library as place, affect of service, dan information control. Kata kunci: libqual, persepsi pengguna, perpustakaan perguruan tinggi Abstract. Services carried out by the library directly and will cause the image library of both positive and negative images. These images create the perception of users and ultimately make an assessment of the library users. In this study the authors wanted to know about the level of user perception on the quality of library services such as affect of service, information control, and library as place. This study uses a quantitative approach that are descriptive and questionnaire data collection techniques with nonrandom sampling with purposive sampling criteria in the library of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Airlangga (Unair) and the library of the State University of Surabaya (UNESA). Data processing techniques to make the average value in every indicator of service quality. The concept of service quality used is LibQual + ™ consisting of affect of service, information control, and library as place. The result is that the average value assessment on the performance of the three library users above is good. For UNESA and ITS libraries, order an assessment of the best by the user is a library as place, information control and affect of service. In Unair library, user ratings on the dimensions of the order of the best in a row is a library as place, affect of service, and information control. Keywords: libqual, user perception, university libraries

Abstract

The research was conducted to the students of Al-Kausar Internat Junior high school as an example of school which has applied the concept of information literacy in one subject and Arrahman Junior high school as an example of school which has not applied the concept of information literacy yet. The aim of this research was to find out whether there is a significant differences between students' literacy ability in finishing task exercises from those school. The method used in this research was a descriptive comparative method to find out the differences between both of objects in this research. The data were collected through questionnaire, interviews, and library study. The respondents are 53 students selected through Proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The findings show there is no significant differences between students of Alkautsar junior high school and Ar Rahman junior high school on their students' information literacy ability. However, from the output scores of mean view, Al Kautsar Junior high school has a larger score than Ar Rahman junior high school. Therefore, Alkautsar Junior high school students have a better information literacy ability compared to Ar Rahman Junior high school students.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterkaitan pemanfaatan perpustakaan dengan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi. Adapun secara khusus tujuan penelitian tersebut adalah (1) untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan perpustakaan sebagai sumber belajar di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi; (2) untuk mengetahui hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi dan (3) untuk mengetahui keterkaitan antara pemanfaatan perpustakaan sebagai sumber belajar dengan peningkatan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif studi deskriptif analisis korelasi. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan Sampling Purposive. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket tertutup dengan skala lima kategori Likert, pengolahan data menggunakan korelasi dari Pearson’s Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pemanfaatan perpustakaan sebagai sumber belajar di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi berada dalam kategori baik, (2) hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi berada dalam kategori cukup baik,dan (3) pemanfaatan perpustakaan sebagai sumber belajar memiliki keterkaiatan yang signifikan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi, yang menghasilkan korelasi dengan kriteria kuat. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan dari pemanfaatan perpustakaan dengan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa di SMP Negeri 5 Sukabumi.
