Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a decrease in blood pressure and an increase in peace of soul after dhikr training being given to the elderly who suffer from hypertension. Subjects in this study were 9 elderly female people with the age range of 55-70 years. The method used in this research was experimental with pretest and posttest models. Training was conducted in 7 sessions. Measurements were performed before training (prettest) and after the training ended (posttest). Then the data was analyzed by Wilcoxon rank test using SPSS 16. Based on the data analysis, hypothesis test scores were Z = -2.627 and p = 0.008 (p <0.05). These results indicated a significant difference between the level of peace of soul in the delivery of training before and after training sessions.

Abstract

This research was conducted with students of grade III elementary school who are not fluent in reading with the goal to improve their reading fluency. Having quasi-experimental  approach with single subject randomized time series design. researcher give repeated reading technique for 12 days. Every measurement session has data in WPCM score (word correct per minute). Comparison between pre-test and post-test show the increasing score of WPCM  for 15.79. Error frequency and self-correction are getting decreased while reading expression is getting improved as the treatment session have. Repeated reading technique can improve reading influency.

Abstract

Development is a set continuous progressive changes, systematic and accumulative. Progressive means that changes have a forward orientation, while systematic and continuous mean that all development’s stage are related and cannot be separated from other phases. Traditionally human life development can be considered as a curved line, where those process generated very fast in prenatal, infant, and adolescence. This curved line would then step onto plateau which describes a stabil condition in adulthood and degrades when people aged. Developmental point of view in councelling—in this case—were focused on individuals potential development including intellectual aspect, affective, social, emotional and religiousity aspect—thus, those individual will develop themselves to a higher level of development.

Abstract

The investigator feels interesting to know the differences attitude in SMA students and MA students to the pre marriage sex behavior.  There is the indications shows that the adolescence attitude to the  pre marriage sex is increasing.  If we look the religion curriculum, there is the differences between the religion curriculum in SMA and MA. The students of SMA study religion much more than the students of MA. The research uses the comparative method and uses Mann  Whitney U test.  Based on the counting the degree of trust  is 95% (α = 0,05) known that  p> α. It means that Ho  is accepted and H1  is rejected. From the result above shows that there is no attitude differences to the pre marriage sex behavior between the students at SMA and the students at MA. The average ranking between SMA and MA is  71,02 > 63,61.

Abstract

In this article, we use cusp catastrophe model for analyze the intelligence. Definition of intelligence is restricted by IQ that can be separated to two aspects, those are Concrete-Practice (CP) and Theoretical-Verbal (TV). We will demonstrate that two students of university with the same aspect of intelligence, CP, but have different TV will state in different department of a university. We must get the critical point that differentiate the characteristic of one department with the others. Moving from one department to the other caused by the change of TV will occur as a jump. This jump will determined cusp catastrophe model.Catastrophe theory provides a universal method for the study of all jump transitions, discontinuities, and sudden qualitative changes. Especially in mathematical understanding, catastrophe theory is a part of singularities theory and bifurcation theory. The samples were the psychological testing, IST, results of 428 ITB's students. The first step is Confirmatory Factor Analysis application to reduce nine psychotest variables to get two control variables that construct cusp catastrophe model. The second step is fitting the model of cusp catastrophe to the data with Cuspfit procedure. As measurement of goodness of fit, Cuspfit procedure uses the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayes Information Criterion (BIC). The model with the lowest AIC and BIC is selected.

Abstract

This research used non-experimental approach with correlational technique studying whether social competency correlated with self-esteem. Purposive sampling were taken from 343 students of grade X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kota Bandung. Data were collected using social competency scale and self-esteem scale. Result shows that there is significant correlation between social competency and self-esteem with cooficient correlation 0,565 at significancy level (0,000). High social competency produce highself-esteem whereas low social competency result low self-esteem.

The subject of this study were 41 full time teachers who work in SMA ,which is hold the status of Pioneering International Standard-Based School and now this school is being process of change to become International Standard Based Schol. Data was collected by three measuring instruments or questionaires, namely by career commitment, subjective career success and readiness for change. Measurements were conducted using path analysis, with the assistence by software Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) 17.0 for Windows. The result of this research showed that hypothesis to be tested was significan,. It means that readiness to change could be predicted by career commitment and subjective career succes, either simultaneously or partially. The amount of power influence of career commitment is 24.76 % (0.2476). Subjective Career Success toward readiness to change is 16,61% (0,166). Simultaneously, the amount of influence  of career commitment and subjective career success toward readiness to change is 41,4% (0,144)

Abstract

On the development of law (rechtsbeoefening) both practical and theoretical, a scientist Law (academics and legal practitioners) often ignore the studies of the social aspects. In this case, a scientist Law (academics and legal practitioners) are trapped and confined on the nature of Legal Studies as a normative science. Thus, the development often collide in the level of practice of law in relation to the fulfillment of public sense of justice. In fact, the law enforcement authorities, especially police investigators, based on the pattern of education, obviously prefers cultural improvement of law and override the Legal Psychology. So, almost certainly, a police investigator in carrying out its duties and functions will never escape, in fact, are still stuck with the principle inquisatoir in examinations investigation.

Abstract

Indonesia is a big country with high pluralism. Country like Indonesia requires a high tolerance attitude. This research aimed to obtain the description about tolerance in the students based on personality type. The participants were 350 UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung’s students with quantitative approach. The variables were personality type and tolerance attitude. Personality types using a scale compiled from the Big Five theory formulated from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). Tolerance attitude was measured using the scale developed by van der Waltz. The results show that the type of personality Conscientious dominates the subject and there is no subject that has the Agreeableness type. From the four personality types, Analysis of Variance (Anova) found no significant difference in their tolerance attitudes. It seems that the majority of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati’s students have good moral values so they can tolerate the difference.
