Abstract

Giftedness and discipline are important basic foundation for children to prepare their future. Thus, the development of giftedness and altering behavior with self disciplined regulation needs to be counted for by parents and teachers. Focusing on nurturing giftedness was considered important that children can prepare themselves to be professional individuals who know their strengths and weaknesses to face all aspects in life. In the other hand, discipline and self regulatory were set to prepare those children to have responsibilities and professional ethos both at work life and in personal life. Parents and teacher in this case need to provide time and design a systematic plan to develop their potential. An effective model for this purpose is a giftedness development and self regulatory training which were designed according to the principal of children’s development.

Abstract

This research specifically observes student psychological personal factor, which is assumed that it influences their academic adaptation. Psychological factor which will be observed is self efficacy, i.e., someone’s conviction about their skill in managing and performing an action for producing an expected performance (Bandura; 1997). The research design applies correlation design, linier regression analysis, i.e., the other way to describe and evaluate the correlation between some variables with assumption that one variable has the role as criterion variable, and the other variable has the role as predictor variable. With linier regression, it is enabled to predict a variable basing on a value from predictor. The analysis result of data shows that correlation coefficient of independent variable = 0.809 and R2 = 0.646. it shows that 64,6 percent of student academic adjustment variety is determined by self efficacy variety, whereas 35,4 percent is determined by the other variables.

Abstract

Procrastination in completing academic tasks is common to most students, including in the work of the thesis. One of the factors that cause students to delay completing the thesis is the ability to manage their emotions (emotion regulation). Karem training based on the theory of emotional regulation is expected to decrease the tendency of academic procrastination behavior in the students. This study aims to examine the effect of Karem training on academic procrastination in psychology faculty students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study used Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest experiment Design. The participants were final year students with a period of more than 10 semesters or 5 years and has taken a thesis course more than 2 semesters or 1 year. The results of this study indicate that Karem training has a significant effect on the decrease of procrastination in the final grade students who are completing the thesis.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to find the crucial factors that influence the level of adolescence’s academic achievement. The objective of this research is to study the     relationship between adolescence’s attributional style with their level of academic achievement. This research was carried out by correlational design. This research involve adolescence as students of three public senior high school in Bandung City, i.e. SMAN 4, SMAN 8, and SMAN 11.  The sample of this study are 459  students selected  through random from second and third grade. The students at first grade not selected as sample because them not yet owned the data of achievement. The data of achievement was collected by documentation study, and data of attribution by questionnaire. The data expressed in ordinal scale and analyzed statistically by Rank Spearman. This study has some outcomes related to the relationship between style of attribution with academic achievement. Students which attributing their academic success with high ability and effort or working hard and attributed their academic failure with lack of effort and luck, tend to attain high achievement.  While the students that attributing their academic success with easy task and luck, and attributed their academic failure with lack of ability and difficult task, tend to attain low achievement.  Based on the findings, to increasing the level of student’s academic achievement can be conducted by train the students to developing the adaptive attribution style, that is to attributing their success academic with ability and effort factors, and to attributing their failure academic with lack of effort an luck.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of self-improvement application toward autonomy of mentally disabled children (medium category) at school of special needs students (SLB) Abc Argasari Yayasan Lestari Tasikmalaya.  Quasi-experiment using single subject research design and multiple baseline design is used. Collecting data used observation with Rating Scale instrument and interview. Result shows that there is an increasing score in treatment phases. It ca be concluded that self-improvement program effect the autonomy of mentally disabled children at  School of special needs students (SLB) Abc Argasari Yayasan Lestari Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

According to existentialism and Iqbal, this writing is focused on human image. Human image (personality or ego) is as a charity. Iqbal’s philosophy of anthropology related to human concept and it focused on ego that is known as khudi.  According to Iqbal,  human ego is top of human perfection . He says also life is individual. So that, Iqbal gives the concept that human is as Khudi in which the human condition is difficult to definite because of the differences one each others.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a behavior that should be avoided by students because it would give a bad influence, especially the academic achievement. One of the factors that lead to academic procrastination is lack of self-regulation in learning. Therefore, it is necessary for students to have self-regulated learning. This research aimed to test the self-regulated learning strategy to reduce the level of academic procrastination XI grade student of SMAN 1 Ngamprah of the academic year 2015/2016 West Bandung Regency. The method used is a quasi-experimental nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) control group design. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling technique. Instrument used is The Academic Procrastination State Inventory (APSI) developed by Henri C. Schouwenburg. The sample are 68 students whereas devided into experiment and control group. Data analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. Result shows that self-regulated learning are effective for lowering the level of academic procrastination.

Abstract

This study aims to see the current picture of recruitment in Indonesia. The research used survey method which was then analyzed thematically. Research subjects were 46 participants who worked in the field of recruitment with varied rank and seniority. The main findings related to the recruitment process are summarized based on participant responses. First, the majority of respondents argued that recruitment is currently very challenging considering on one hand the presence of less qualified candidates or even on the other hand the company does have a high enough demands. Second, given the budgetary problems, companies must adjust their recruitment strategies to their internal conditions. Finally, a recruit must have certain abilities such as target orientation, networking, negotiation, and analytic thinking. The results of this descriptive study can be used as a basis for further research and for recommendations on recruitment discussion forums. This study is limited to respondents from private companies, further research is suggested to increase the number of representative samples and develop more specific instruments.

Abstract

This research based on the phenomena that some teachers have not done their job effectively and efficiently. It is expected that emotional intelegence has correlation with that phenomena. Emotional intelegence is an individual ability to know their own emotion, manage the emotion, motivate themselves, have emphaty and skill in relationship. Some aspects in emotional intelegence expected have correlation with performance. Population are teachers MTs At Taqwa Tangerang who are actively doing the teaching and learning process. This research used quantitative methodology with correlational analysis. Subjects are 100 teachers. Result shows that thitung  is more than ttabel. Therefore, H0 is not accepted and H1 is accepted so that there is positive correlation between emotional intelegence and teachers performance at MTs At Taqwa Tangerang.

Abstract

Since many centuries ago, psychological factors were considered as an important aspect in treatment of many disease that incurred on human life. Body and mind relation are a very interesting object study for many centuries for many people. Polemics, researches and opinions were aroused time to time—either about its own existence, function and dichotomy between physical and psychological nature of human being. This research emphasizes on dichotomy of physical and psychological nature of human which then resulted in many problems both physical and psychological. In this paper we try to describe some medical disease that occurred in many situations and considered—generally—caused by psychological aspect, including case example, prevention methods, treatment and many other.
