Abstract

Investment in Human Resources is managed through a strategy for preparing sustainable future leaders. Talent management with the right processes of identification, recruitment and selection, development, and retention will put the right people in the right place. This study aims to determine the implementation of talent management in managerial succession planning at Soerojo Hospital. This study is qualitative research with a single case design using an in-depth interview and was conducted in October-November 2022. Informants were recruited using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of 1 key informant, 1 main informant, and 1 additional informant. The results revealed that talent management in managerial succession planning had not been fully implemented, as indicated by the subjectivity of the leaders in identifying talents, recruitment carried out after there was a vacancy, no talent pool at the selection stage, inadequate curriculum-based talent development and suboptimal talent retention because there is no guideline for implementing talent management. Therefore, Soerojo Hospital needs to establish regulations, compile curriculum and talent development methods, and create a harmonious work atmosphere for the sustainability of the organization.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Southwest Papua understand digital marketing to sustain their business. This study focuses on factors influencing digital literacy, business resilience, and entrepreneurial orientation in MSMEs in the region. A survey method was employed by collecting data from 80 randomly selected MSME samples in the City and Regency of Sorong of Southwest Papua Province. A quantitative approach using structural partial least squares equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to predict and confirm the hypotheses. Findings unveiled that digital marketing literacy could explain entrepreneurial orientation and business resilience. This study is the beginning of research on the digital economy in the Papua region. The findings of this study successfully answered four hypotheses: (1) There was an influence between digital marketing literacy and entrepreneurial orientation, with a p-value of 0.001 and a regression path of 0.772; (2) There was an influence between digital marketing literacy and business resilience, with a p-value of 0.042 and a regression path value of 0.185. These results revealed that MSME players have been familiar with digital literacy despite residing in Papua.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of knowledge management on organizational performance, with dynamic capability as a mediating variable. A quantitative research approach was applied. A survey was conducted using purposive random sampling. Data were collected manually by using a questionnaire. SmartPLS3 was used to analyze the data. The results showed that dynamic capability has been verified to mediate the relationship between knowledge management and performance. Greater knowledge management leads to higher performance, especially if the mediated dynamic capability is also greater. The managerial implications were that knowledge management and dynamic capability have prominent roles in organizational performance. Knowledge management and dynamic capability allow managers to optimize their creativity and innovation to develop ideas, which helps maximize the growth of organizational performance. The results supported the knowledge-based view (KBV). KBV serves as the foundation for comprehension of knowledge-based organizational theory. Knowledge significantly affects sustainable performance.

Abstract

This research investigated the significance of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intellectual agility-resonance in influencing entrepreneurial intention among individuals from the Generation Z cohort. The research is grounded in Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). The research sample consisted of 279 students who were engaged in entrepreneurial activities on campus. This study uses structural equation modeling partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The findings demonstrated that entrepreneurial creativity had the potential to enhance both entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intellectual agility-resonance. Moreover, the combination of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intellectual agility-resonance could enhance the entrepreneurial intention of individuals belonging to Generation Z. Other studies have demonstrated that entrepreneurial inventiveness does not have a direct impact on entrepreneurial ambition. An essential factor in connecting the impact of entrepreneurial creativity to entrepreneurial intention includes entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intellectual agility-resonance as mediators. The results expanded Social Cognitive Theory by giving empirical evidence concerning the significant role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intellectual agility-resonance in mediating the link between entrepreneurial creativity and entrepreneurial intention. These findings corroborated SCT's perspective that personal and cognitive elements were crucial in developing entrepreneurial behavior and gave practical implications for boosting entrepreneurship education and development among Gen Z.

Abstract

This research examines various factors that influence employee retention, with an emphasis on job satisfaction as a mediating. This research applied quantitative research and a non-probability sampling approach. The data were analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0. The research sample was conducted on employees in the manufacturing industry in Batam with a total of 320 respondents. The results found that leadership, compensation, and work environment influence job satisfaction, but these three variables do not influence employee retention. At the same time, the indirect effects showed that job satisfaction as a full mediation influences the relationship between leadership, compensation, and work environment on employee retention. Today, employee retention has become increasingly urgent in a dynamic job market, where low retention rates not only strain organizational resources but also jeopardize continuity, innovation and overall business performance, thereby underscoring the importance of effective retention strategies. This research showed how the organization carries out employee retention strategies and can be used as evaluation material and guidance for the industry in increasing employee retention within the organization.

Abstract

This research examined how brand image, brand awareness, and social media marketing influence consumers’ purchase decisions, including factors like purchase interest, service quality, and experiential marketing as mediating variables, offering valuable knowledge for marketers to enhance their understanding of consumers’ behavior. The population was Somethinc’s Instagram followers, totaling 156 samples. This study revealed that brand image did not significantly impact purchase decisions, in contrast to brand awareness, which significantly impacted purchase decisions. Purchase interest and service quality also had no significant impact on purchase decisions. Social media marketing had no significant impact on purchase decisions, but it significantly impacted experiential marketing, emphasizing its role in improving consumers’ experiences. Conversely, experiential marketing notably impacted purchase decisions, effectively mediating the impact of social media marketing on purchase decisions. This study also unveiled that purchase interest did not mediate the impact of brand image on purchase decisions, and service quality did not mediate the impact of brand awareness on purchase decisions. The findings provide valuable insights to craft more effective strategies within the modern marketing landscape, such as marketers leveraging this understanding to design approaches that prioritize creating engaging experiences for consumers.

Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the influence of emotional regulation as an individual's personal resource on the sales force performance by considering the mediating role of adaptive selling behavior and the moderating role of perceived job autonomy. Using a quantitative approach, data were obtained from 135 sales forces in the banking services industry in DKI Jakarta and Bandung City, selected using a purposive sampling method. The data obtained were then processed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares. The findings of this study empirically confirm the conservation of resources theory in terms of sales force performance, as emotional regulation acts as the personal resource that can, directly and indirectly, affect sales force performance through adaptive selling behavior. In addition, perceived job autonomy acts as the external resource that can strengthen the influence of emotional regulation on adaptive selling behavior, as well as adaptive selling behavior on sales force performance. The findings of this study also emphasize the need for management, especially sales managers, to ensure that their salespeople have a customer orientation and are willing to dedicate the energy and resources they possess to meet customer requests or needs.

Abstract

Supply chain resilience, which consists of robustness, flexibility, and agility, are critical to maintaining business productivity and sustainability. The objective of this research is to scrutinize the robustness and adaptability in relation to agility, in addition to examining the impact of flexibility and agility on the sales of SMEs. Data was amassed through structured interviews with 314 proprietors of food and beverage businesses in Surakarta. The analytical method utilized was one of the structural equation modeling techniques, specifically, Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The analytical outcomes suggest that to bolster the sustainability of food and beverage enterprises, SMEs must exhibit agility and adaptability during periods of uncertainty in the business environment, supported by a robust supply chain. Moreover, agility partially functions as a mediator in the robustness and flexibility of SMEs in relation to sales. The implications of this research underscore the necessity for support from all stakeholders in the food and beverage supply chain activities to ensure SMEs are resilient, agile, and adaptable in confronting dynamic environmental challenges.
