Abstract

This study meticulously examined the impact of compensation and organizational commitment on turnover intentions among young female employees, with job satisfaction as a mediating factor. The study's subject pool comprises young female employees aged between 19 and 25 in private healthcare institutions. Data collation entailed employing a Likert scale questionnaire, while the ensuing analysis adopted the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) approach. The conclusions study proffered that compensation exerted a non-significant negative impact on turnover intentions, concurrently exerting a significant positive influence on job satisfaction. Organizational commitment yielded a notable and negative impact on turnover intentions, simultaneously engendering a marked positive impact on job satisfaction. Curiously, job satisfaction evinced a non-significant negative impact on turnover intentions. Further nuanced analyses revealed that compensation yielded a non-significant negative impact on turnover intentions via the intermediary of job satisfaction. Similarly, organizational commitment's influence on turnover intentions was insignificant when mediated through job satisfaction. This study's seminal contribution discovered that contrary to prevalent assumptions, especially for young female employees, when compensation could provide job satisfaction and is combined with organizational commitment, it will not affect turnover intentions directly or indirectly.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and analyze the influence of information quality on Supply Chain Management (SCM) performance among Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Pekanbaru City, utilizing information sharing as a mediator. The study employed institutional theory to elucidate the interactions between the variables, explaining how external factors such as social and cultural norms influence information-sharing practices among business actors and the role of legitimacy in promoting these practices. Focusing on SMEs that have implemented systems in their business management, the research utilized the Krejcie and Morgan table for sampling, engaging 177 SMEs willing to participate. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method through SEM-PLS software. The findings indicated that information quality significantly influenced SCM performance directly and influenced information-sharing practices. Importantly, the study revealed that Information Quality indirectly affected SCM performance through information sharing, which acts as a mediating variable. This research offers practical benefits to SME owners in Pekanbaru by enhancing SCM performance through improved information quality. It contributes academically as a reference to the impact of information quality on SCM with information sharing as a mediator.

Abstract

Good corporate governance is critical in reducing conflict between agencies in the workplace. Corporate governance is crucial in developing nations with lax law enforcement. The impact of governance on corporate performance is investigated in this article. This study uses quantitative data from manufacturing companies registered on the Indonesian and Philippine stock exchanges. This study relied on 655 observations from Indonesia and 220 from the Philippines. Corporate governance is measured using independent commissioners, the number of board members, shareholder ownership, and the use of Big Four auditors. This study discovered that independent commissioners, the board size, and block-holders ownership significantly affected the return on assets. Tobin's Q analysis revealed that only Board Size had a significant effect. Unlike Indonesia, the results of this study in the Philippines showed that independent commissioners and block holder ownership significantly impacted the return on assets. On the other hand, this study using Tobin’s Q showed that all independent variables, such as independent commissioners, the board size, block-holders ownership, and big four accounting firms, had a significant effect. The practical implication of the study's findings is that management monitoring by independent commissioners and all commissioners is beneficial in avoiding managers' acts that harm the organization. On the one hand, the number of commissioners sends an excellent signal to the market. Block holder ownership and the usage of big four accounting firms can also strengthen monitoring, improving corporate performance. Companies should have a high proportion of independent commissioners, a modest board size, and use big four accounting firms. Companies can increase their performance and investor trust by applying the above governance components.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal information quality, social friendship, and social interaction in predicting web usage and understanding of online news readers and also to reveal that web usage predicts online news readers’ understanding. This quantitative research uses an online survey design based on a purposive sampling technique using 423 respondents who are active readers of online news. The data in the study were analyzed using SEM Amos and SPSS 21. The results and findings showed that information quality and social interaction could positively and significantly predict web usage and understanding of online readers. Web usage could also predict online reader understanding positively and significantly. Social friendships could not predict web usage and reader understanding of online news based on research results. The theoretical implication of the research aims to fill the gap in the existing literature on information quality and social interaction that can explain web usage and understanding of online newsreaders and web usage as a predictor to explain the effect of comprehension as an individual’s intended media use. The practical implication of this study is that websites as news sources must pay attention to information and features that are more attractive to readers or potential online news readers.

Abstract

Islamic banking financing continues to experience better growth and provides great contributions in Indonesia. This industry must innovate products and improve its performance. This research paper aims to improve the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) and efficiency model of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia while enhancing the quality of governance in the banking industry. In this study, researchers used Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to process overall technical efficiency (OTE) and panel regression to establish the causal relationship between independent and dependent variables, both partially and simultaneously. Researchers also analyzed the correlational association between NPF and the efficiency of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The data used in the study were obtained from Islamic commercial banks that were consistently published by Bank Indonesia and the Bank's database. Various micro or internal banking variables were used, and external variables, such as macro variables, were found to influence NPF. The study identified internal variables like CAR and FDR and external variables like GDP and inflation of Islamic banking in Indonesia that significantly impact NPF. Furthermore, the study results suggest that the FDR variable is among the significant variables with the highest significance value. It was also found that the "bad management" and "bad luck" hypotheses were not proven in Islamic banking in Indonesia.

Abstract

For a long time, people have been consuming homemade herbal drinks, which are processed traditionally. However, micro, small, medium, and large-scale businesses are now emerging in the production and marketing of ready-to-consume packaged herbal drinks. Research is needed on whether there are differences in consumer motivation in using homemade and industrial-made herbal beverages in terms of the factors of age, gender, education, occupation, and marital status of consumers, as well as how the simultaneous influence of these five variables on the motivation to consume herbal drinks. This study used a sample of 327 people whose data was collected through a digital questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Mann Whitney, Kruskal Wallis, and multiple linear regression. The results showed differences in consumer decisions based on age, education, occupation, and marital status in the choice of herbal drinks, but not gender differences. Most consumers chose the non-packaged type. Simultaneous testing, age, and occupation factors significantly affected consumer decisions, while gender, education, and marital status were not necessary. The results have implications for the segmentation strategy, targeting, and market positioning of the herbal beverage processing industry and the herbal beverage raw material supply industry, better market understanding, more targeted product development, more effective promotional interventions, increased public awareness of the benefits of herbal drinks, and government policy support for the herbal beverage industry.

Abstract

SMEs are a fundamental component of the economic structure in many countries. In the contemporary era of digitalization, SMEs are undertaking various initiatives to align with the evolving business landscape. This study aims to explore and synthesize research results on the role of digitalization in developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The literature review used the Scopus database. The data obtained were 127 documents from 2010 to 2023. SME digitization research has been conducted in 42 countries using 92 theories from 94 journals. The results showed three research clusters: business model innovation, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Information Technology (IT) capabilities. Digital platforms and information management assist SMEs in adjusting, creating new ideas, and staying competitive in difficult business circumstances. Digital platforms assist SMEs by extending market reach, automating operations, improving marketing and promotional efforts, analyzing consumer data to make better decisions, and strengthening team communication and customer care. Future research investigates effective strategies and educational programs aimed at helping SMEs acquire digital skills, adopt digital technology, and implement advanced blockchain-based contract systems. Future research also investigates the ethical implications of SME digitalization, encompassing issues related to data privacy, digital security, and the appropriate use of emerging technologies.

Abstract

The quality of human resources has an important role in the organization's sustainability, so the recruitment and selection process is carried out according to existing procedures, especially supported by technology-based systems. This research aims to analyze the relationship between recruitment and selection in producing quality human resources using a model utilizing an online-based system. Researchers used a mixed method approach to complete what had been formulated, reaching 114 samples employing simple random sampling. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews using the FGD method with the implementing committee and selected District Panwaslu members. Data from the questionnaire research were analyzed utilizing structural equation modeling (SEM), while data from interviews were analyzed using data triangulation. The results found that information and communication technology systems significantly influenced recruitment, selection, and quality of human resources. Meanwhile, the recruitment and selection process did not significantly influence the production quality of human resources since optimal recruitment and selection did not guarantee that the selected human resources were of good quality. However, the role of selection could mediate the relationship between technological systems in creating quality human resources, while recruitment cannot.
