Abstract

PT . Gaya Motor is a manufacturing company that is engaged in the assembly and production of automotive components incorporated in the group of PT Astra International.Perusahaan implement inventory control system Just In Time.Kanban’s supplier with safety stock of 0.5 days plus a safety stock of 0.5 extra days beyond the kanban. The study was conducted on the material supply products Main Floor Side LH SA - 001 , SA - 002 , SA - 003 , SA - 004 , SA - 005 , SA - 006 , SA - 007 , SA - 008 and SA - 009. Problems faced by the company are the high amount of inventory caused by inaccurate inventory systems and fault current in raw material procurement procedures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the companys current inventory control system and propose improvements inventory control system that can minimize inventory costs compared to the cost of inventory at the companys current inventory system.Kanban inventory method supplier company currently has a total cost of inventory of Rp 318.861.462,00. Supplier kanban inventory control methods with safety stock kanban 0.1 days has a total cost of inventory of Rp 158.703.378,00. Inventory control methods Two - Bin Replenishment has a total inventory cost of Rp 98.497.214,00. From the results of these calculations, the minimum inventory cost obtained by using the method of inventory Two - Bin Replenishment, and made proposals related to changes in inventory control system.

Abstract

This study discusses about how to evaluate the implementation of occupational health and safety (OHS) on batik small and medium sized enterprises in Madura. Successful implementation of OHS is influenced by worker behavior and then is measured by a score of worker safety through the intervention program. Intervention program is designed by using behavior-based safety approach that is based on the identification of hazards and risks at workplace. Intervention program is conducted by the provision of personal protective equipment, work standard setting, supervision and understanding improvement of the OHS. The results show that interventions can improve worker safety score from 34% to 56%.

Abstract

Purpose of this research is to determine types and causes of defects commonly found in Paper Machine 3 by using statistical process control (SPC) method.  Statistical process control (SPC) is a technique for solving problems and is used to monitor, control, analyze, manage and improve products and processes using statistical methods.  Based on Pareto Diagrams, wavy defect is found as the most frequent defect, which is 81.7%.  Human factor, meanwhile, is found as the main cause of defect, primarily due to lack of understanding on machinery and lack of training both leading to errors in data input.

Abstract

Temperature monitoring apparatus is required for the distribution of certain products that are distributed using cold chain method. Temperature gauges that use analog and digital thermometers can not store temperature data in transit. The digital temperature register apparatus (logger) in the market temperature is relatively expensive and does not provide early warning if the temperature in the storage box products out of permitted temperature limits. The research developed a prototype of a temperature monitoring device for the distribution of cold chain products. Case studies on blood distribution are used as a basis for determining the need for temperature monitoring devices. The product prototype is made by stages in accordance with generic product development method. The resulting prototype can provide temperature information in the cold box during the course of blood distribution. The prototype can also provide warnings in the form of sounds and lights when the temperature inside the cold box is outside the ideal temperature limit / permitted for the blood distribution process. Temperature history data during the trip can be stored in NFC Tags. The data can then be read using smart-phone devices that feature NFC.

Abstract

This research is conducted because a high number of accidents occured during the workplace in PG. Krebet Baru. There were about 45 accidentsin 2013 and 32 out of 45 accidentscame from the Maintenance Division.  This research is needed for the purpose of decreasing the number of accidents. The methods used in this research are hierarchycal task analysis (HTA), standarized plant risk analysishuman reliability assessment (SPAR-H), and fault tree analysis (FTA). In this research, there are 4 stations. They are milling station, purification, maturation, and spinning. Based on this research, there are 5 accidents. They are damaged muscle, damaged bone, graze, damaged eye, and injuries from a fall. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the workplace conditions and the lack of worker awareness on the importance of protective equipment usage are the main causes of these work accidents. Based on these causes, the suitable solution is to change several work methods and instruct the workers about using protective equipment.

Abstract

Creative industry is a cycle of creation, production, and distribution of goods / services using creativity and intellectual capital as the main input. The creative industry can improve the welfare and create new jobs for the community. The object of this research is a shoe manufacturer. In general, shoes made using synthetic raw materials so that shoes products tend not environmentally friendly. Many alternative natural materials are more environmentally friendly to replace this synthetic product, one of which is a burlap sack. This research is doing redesign of womens shoe sack with Quality Function Deployment method. The results of the house of quality matrix are design targets including: good quality and durable materials, shoe prices, concept of sneaker shoe, external sole material and insole, combination of dark and bright colors, batik inner/outer appearance is different, display design can be replaced, shoe fin section can be removed pairs, the main material of burlap sack, there is a waterproof parachute; and multifunctional shoes.

Abstract

Demand of electric power in Samarinda continuously increasing in line with development of Samarinda city. To fill the demand of electricity in the future at a certain period, it is necessary to know precisely the demand for electricity in the certain period. This research has been carried out mid-term electric load forecasting electricity system in Samarinda using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This method is an excellent method for finding non-linear relationship between load with economic factors are varied, and can make adjustments to the changes.The result of this study indicates that the selection of parameters such as the learning method, the number of neurons, hidden layer and influence the accuracy of forecasting the electrical load. From the results of electric power load forecasting medium term Samarinda MSE values obtained by 6,9134E + 03, using the parameters training and network configuration [7-70-1]. Retrieved peak load in 2020 amounted to 741 MW, close to the electrical plan of PT. PLN (Persero) amounting to 718 MW. In the electricity load forecasting is well known that the annual burden will increase.

Abstract

Maksud penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi minat mahasiswa mengikuti kuliah di Jurusan Teknik Industri UMS.  Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan manfaat,   tentang penentuan kebijakan  pimpinan untuk meningkatkan kinerja dan factor yang mempengaruhi para mahasiswa mengikuti kuliah di Jurusan Teknik Industrt UMS. Metode yang di terapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode angket dan wawancara.  Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik stratified random  sampling, sehingga yang  menjadi responden dalam penelitian in iadalah sebagian mahasiswa di Jurusan Teknik Industri UMS.Uji yang digunakan adalah validitas angket, reliabilitas angket, uji scoring (pembobotan)  dandiagram relation. Sampel  yang digunakan keseluruhannya,  dalam penelitianini sejumlah 40 mahasiswa dari semester  dua, empat, enam dan delapan. Butir angket sejumlah 15 item pertanyaan yang  diisi secara tertutup,  digunakan untuk menguji validitas angket dan reliabilitas angket. Angket yang digunakan adalah angket terpakai. Setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan angket terbuka,   digunakan untuk mengetahui factor terbesar yang   mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa kuliah di Jurusan Teknik Industri. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas angket ternyata 15 item pertanyaan valid dan reliable.  Berdasarkan penelitian didapat bahwa yang menyebabkan mahasiswa berminat kuliah di Jurusan Teknik Industri UMS Surakarta  ada 15 faktor bebas. Diantara 15 variabel tersebut ada 5 variabel yang menjadi prioritas utama yang sangat penting untuk diperhatikan sebagai daya tarik tersendiri, yaitu Tidak diterima UMPTN[8,4%], Prospek Program  Stud [7,6%],  Lokasi Yang Strategis [7,3%],   Pembayaran  Dapat Diangsur [7.2%] dan Biaya Studi Yang Ringan [7,0%]. Adapun sepuluh variable yang lain menjadi bahan evaluasi diri sehingga dapat ditingkatkan kinerjanya.  Adapun sepuluh variable tersebut adalah Kualitas dosen (6,9%), Fasilitas Ruang Kuliah (6,8%), Kurikulum Yang bersaing (6,7%), Pembelajaran (6,7%), Sistem penilaian (6,./%). Kondisi Gedung (5,9%), Dosen Studi Lanjut (5,4%), Lingkungan, Visi dan Misi Jurusan harus diperbaiki (5,./%), Kegiatan UKM harus ditingkatkan (5,1%).

Abstract

PT. Mayatama Manunggal Sentosa merupakan salah satu perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak dibidang pembuatan pengaman kaca (safety glass). Pada tahun 2013, terjadi beberapa permasalahan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja yaitu kecelakaan kerja yang dialami oleh karyawan khususnya pada area proses produksi. Penelitian ini diawali dengan melakukan identifikasi kecelakaan kerja dan selanjutnya mencari sumber potensi bahaya kecelakaan kerja sehingga dapat dilakukan pencegahan kecelakaan dengan menggunakan metode Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP). Proses identifikasi dilakukan menggunakan HAZOP worksheet. Berdasarkan proses dari identifikasi bahaya pada proses produksi pembuatan pengaman kaca (safety glass) ditemukan 9 sumber potensi bahaya, diantaranya: kondisi lingkungan kerja, pecahan kaca, sikap pekerja, panel listrik, kabel yang berserakan, udara panas, genangan air dan bahan kimia yang berbahaya, kertas yang berserakan dan genangan air.

Abstract

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a claim of stakeholders of a company in order for the company to operate not only in the interest of the company shareholders, but also in the interests of the stakeholders such as employees, local communities, government, customers and environment. The CSR can build some positive effect for the company and gives benefits to society. Additionally, the CSR program is one of the company’s ways in realizing its vision and mission.  This research explores main factors influencing the implementation of a CSR program based on ISO 26000 ran by a manufacturing company located in Kecamatan Dlingo, Kabupaten Bantul. Regarding societal aspect, the environment is found as the main factor with MSA score of 0.649. Social relationship among employees, on the other hand, is found as the main factor of employees aspect with MSA score of 0.867.
