Abstract

As the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of shalat's training to lower on student academic procrastination. The hypothesis is no effect of a decrease in academic procrastination among students who attend training shalat with students who are not trained to shalat. This study uses pretest and posttest control group design, in which the research subjects are students from various departments at "Y" University in Yogyakarta a total of 8 people, with 4 people in the experimental group and 4 people in the control group.This study uses a scale of academic procrastination compiled by Siswanto (2013). Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics, the Wilcoxon sign rank test. The results of the research in the experimental group for differences pre and post test obtained value Z =-0.368, p = 0.713 (p>0.05). As for differences in pre-test and post-test in the control group, the value of Z = -l.826, p = 0.068 (p>0.05). It can be concluded that there is no difference in academic procrastination before and after the shalat's training. Thus, the research hypothesis was rejected. Keywords: Academic Procrastination, Shalat's Training

Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of positive thinking training in reducing the anxieties of students who are working on the thesis. The subjects in this research consisted of 24 students which 12 students into experimental group and 12 students into the control group. The subjects characteristics of the research is : 1) students of UIN Sunan Kalijga especially students of Social anda Humanities Faculty and Science and Technology Faculty 2) doing thesis, 3) having medium up to highest anxiety score in doing thesis, 4) ready to be subject of the research.This research uses two deferent groups (experimental and control groups) by pre-test and post-test design. The measurenment tool which is use in the research is the anxiety doing the thesis scale.The test using statistical analysis techniques Mann Whitney U indicates that gain score between control and experimental group results value p=0,002 (p<0,005) so it can be concluded that there is a difference score of anxiety that significant between experimental and control group. Whereas the analysisresults of wilcoxon signed rank indicates that post-test and pre-test experimental group gets value p=0,002 (p<0,005), so it can be concluded that there is different of anxiety level on experimental group before and after treatment. The anxiety of students after getting positive thinking treatment indicates lower than before.Keywords: Positive thinking training, anxiety, students.

Abstract

Anxiety facing medical procedures always happenes in children with chronic disease. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of cognitive behavior therapy to reduce anxiety facing medical procedures in children with leukemia. Beginning from children's concept about their experince in hospital, cognitive behavior therapy has been used to reduce anxiety by changing cognition, emotion, and behavior. This research uses the single subject design with three participant, age seven to 11 years old. To measure anxiety, an adapted anxiety scale and the checklist of positive behavior had used. Cognitive behavior therapy administered individually, applied in five sessions. Quantitative analysis by visual inspection was conducted to show the anxiety score fluctuations. Qualitative analysis was done by analyzing the diaries, observation results, and interview results. The research show that cognitive behavior therapy can reduce the level of anxiety facing medical prosedures in children with leukemia.Keywords: cognitive behavior therapy, anxiety, medical procedures, leukemia

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of support group therapy on improving resilience among adolescents in prisons. The hypothesis tested was based on the asumption that support group therapy influenced to improving resilience of adolescents in prison. The sample include 12 convicts adolescents, consist of male, they were between 16 and 18 years old, and classified into two groups, the two groups are experiment and control group. Data were collected by resilience scale (38-aitem) which refers to resilient aspects from Connor and Davidson (2003). The effectiveness of intervention was evaluated by using a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttes and follow-up analysis. Analysis of this study consisted of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis using parametric analysis of Anova Repeated Measures to determine differences in resilience to experimental group and control group after the subjects are given therapy. The qualitative analysis was done based on observations and interviews. The result of research showed there were differences in resilience between experimental group and control group after the therapy given, with value of p = 0.019 (p<0.05) when pretest-posttest and p = 0.013 (p<0.05) when pretest-follow up. The conclusion of this study was support group therapy can enhance resilience of adolescents in prisons.Key words: Support group therapy, Resilience, Adolescents.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine if whether the parent management training can improve social skills in children experienced oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). Subjects in the study one child, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), male gender, age 7 years, currently sit in second grade elementary school. The data was collected using the method of observation with anecdotal records and behavioral checklists and semi-structured interviews. The study design used was a single case experimental design with AB-follow up design. Analysis of the data used is a qualitative analysis with the analysis of behavioral approaches RAC-S (Response, Antecendents, Consequences, Response-Strength), and analysis visual inspection. The results of parent management training can improve social skills of child who has oppositional defiant disorder, primarily on behavioral aspect of academic success in school.Keywords: Social Skills, Parent Management Training, Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Abstract

Most drug abusers in rehabilitation house has low self efficacy which is seen on negative self concept, low self recognizing, and low self confidence.This lowseif efficacy may cause relapse among them. This research was aimed at seeing influence of psychological skill training on self efficacy among drug abusers in rehabilitation house. The Hypothesis of this research was there is a different increase of self efficacy between experiment group who got psychological skill training and control group who did not get psychological skill training. Participant of this research is drug abuser in rehabilitation house X in regular class. This research was experimental research with 6 participants in experiment group and 5 participants in control group which was divided randomly. The Design of this research was pre post control group design. Participant's self efficacy was measured by self efficacy scale. Statistics analysis using non parametric test, shows score z--2,470 and p=0,013 where 0,013 < 0, 05. Thus, hypothesis on this research is accepted.Keywords: Psychological skill, self efficacy, drug abusers

Abstract

The growth of bullying behavior in schools has become a phenomena that should be taken to matters. Teacher's role in handling bullying plays an important role and their knowledge in this issue are sufficent. Therefore, there is a necessity to increase their knowledge so correct actions can be taken to place. The goal of this research is to see the effectiveness of psychoeducational program in increasing teacher's knowledge and skill to intervene bullying behavior in school. Hyphotesis of this research is psychoeducational program will increase teachers' knowledge and skill in handling bullying behavior in school. Participants are 16 teachers in experimental group and 11 teachers in the control group This research uses action research design. Psychoeducational program contains eight session, where each session's duration last for about one hour. The result of this research is that psychoeducatioanal program effective in increasing teacher's knowledge and skill in handling bullying behavior (knowiwdge: F:19,805., rf:0,442Me=14,25.Mc=-4,09;sk///: F: 6,146; rf; 0,197., Me=6,19, Mc=0,91).Keyword: Bullying, psychoeducational program, knowledge and skill

Abstract

his study was able to find out whether Islamic self-efficacy training can reduce the anxiety of public speaking for the student of Islamic boarding school. The method used in this research was experimental method with randomized pretest-posttest with control group. Subjects in this study were male and female of Islamic boarding school student with range of age 13 to 16 years old which contained 18 subjects with an anxiety score of public speaking in high to medium and divided into two groups, 9 subjects for experimental group and 9 subjects for control group. The experimental group was given self-efficacy training, while the control group was not treated. The scale used to measure anxiety levels in public speaking was public speaking anxiety scale constructed by researcher based on the theory of Rogers (2003). The results were obtained by Mann-Whitney statistic test, the difference of score during pretest-posttest of experimental group with control group showing Z value equal to -2,790 with p = 0,005 <0,05. These results indicate significant differences between experimental and control groups. Islamic Self-efficacy training in this study provides positive change and reduces the anxiety of public speaking for Islamic boarding school student, motivate them to improve their positive self by maximizing their excess, and emerge positive emotion to relieve irrational thinking.Key words: Islamic self-efficacy training, public speaking, anxiety, Islamic boarding school student

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of gratitude training in increasing life satisfaction and affection level of hypertentive patient. The participants of this study were patients who had hypertention, 40-60 years old, and muslim. The design of this study is quasi-experimental design, wtihpretest-posttest control group desain Data were collected with Subjective well-being Scale (SWLS) from iener, Emmon, Larsen, and Griffin (1985) and The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) from Watson, Clark, and Tellegen (1988). Analysis data showed that there was a significant difference betweenSWLS score of experiment and control group (t=9.624, p = 0.000 p< 0.01) and PANAS score (t=10.931, p= 0.000 p<0.01).Key words : gratitude training, subjective well-beling, life satisfaction, affection, hypertention

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Rational Emotive Behavior Training to reduce academic cheating behavior in students. Subjects in this study were ten students aged 13-15 years and have academic cheating behavior score from moderate to high. The design used was one group pretest-posttest. Collecting data in this study was conducted using a scale of academic cheating compiled by researchers. Data analysis method used is non-parametric statistical techniques by using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test to test for differences in the data score pre test and post test. Results of the analysis showed the value of Z when the post test for - 677a with p equal to 0,498. It can be concluded that the training of Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT) is not effectively used to derive academic cheating behavior in students in junior high school "X" in Yogyakarta. Keywords: Rational Emotive Behavior Training, Academic cheating behavior
