This educational staff research is entitled "Development of Visual Media as an Effective Information Service at the Research and Community Service Institute of the University of Bengkulu." The study aims to improve service delivery so that it becomes more effective and efficient. Effective and efficient service refers to the ability to meet the needs and expectations of service users accurately, promptly, and through the optimal utilization of available resources. To ensure that services are delivered effectively, one highly useful strategy is the use of visual media such as posters. Posters are a form of visual communication that can convey information quickly and attractively, making them an effective medium for disseminating information to service users. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of community participation in the implementation of the Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in Sukabumi City in 2013 and 2018. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines three indicators of effectiveness according to Duncan in Steers (1985), namely goal achievement, integration, and adaptation. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with the Chairman of the Sukabumi City KPU, field observations, and document analysis. The results showed that community participation in the 2013 Pilkada reached 69% and increased to 72% in the 2018 Pilkada. Despite a strong legal foundation and diverse socialization efforts, the Pilkada has not been running effectively due to participation rates that are still far from ideal. Low participation is caused by multidimensional factors, including public trust crises, voter data administration problems, socioeconomic constraints, and uneven information distribution.

This study analyzes the implementation of the village apparatus appointment policy in Jagamukti Village, Surade District, Sukabumi Regency, based on Sukabumi Regent Regulation Number 34 of 2021. It is motivated by indications of discrepancies between regulations and actual practices, such as alleged direct appointments without proper selection stages. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Village Head, District Secretary, and Analyst Staff of the Sukabumi Regency Community and Village Empowerment Office. Data were analyzed using the Mazmanian and Sabatier implementation framework. The results indicate that formally, the appointment procedures comply with applicable regulations. However, policy effectiveness is hindered by limited human resource quality, high demands for information technology mastery, strong subjectivity factors, and social environmental pressures from the community. Therefore, this study recommends implementing a stricter merit-based selection system, enhancing village apparatus capacity, and conducting more proactive bureaucratic supervision to achieve policy objectives optimally.

This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication between UMKM sellers on customer satisfaction in Kebak Village. Interpersonal communication is considered an important factor in determining the quality of the relationship between sellers and customers during transactions. This study used a quantitative, associative design to examine the relationship between interpersonal communication variables and customer satisfaction. Primary data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 140 UMKM buyers in Kebak Village who were selected as respondents. The research instrument used a Likert scale to measure interpersonal communication indicators, including openness, empathy, positive attitude, support, and equality, as well as customer satisfaction indicators. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 29, including normality and linearity tests and Spearman's rho correlation tests. The results showed that the data met the required statistical assumptions and there was a positive and significant relationship between sellers' interpersonal communication and customer satisfaction. This finding indicates that improving the quality of interpersonal communication is often followed by an increase in customer satisfaction. Effective interactions can create a sense of comfort, trust, and a positive experience during the transaction process. This study confirms that interpersonal communication is a strategic factor in improving service quality and strengthening relationships between UMKM and customers. The research implications underscore the importance of developing interpersonal communication competencies to increase customer satisfaction and the competitiveness of UMKM.

The era of digital disruption has triggered a drastic shift in public media consumption behavior, characterized by a significant decline in print media circulation nationwide. To respond to this phenomenon, conventional media companies are compelled to undertake strategic adaptation measures to maintain their relevance. This study aims to explore and analyze the implementation of media convergence at Tribun Jatim, focusing deeply on three primary dimensions: organizational restructuring of the editorial department, transformation of news content formats, and the mechanization of multiplatform distribution patterns. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied in this study through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the online editorial management and social media teams of Tribun Jatim, and literature review analysis. The research findings reveal that Tribun Jatim has integrated the convergence process comprehensively. At the organizational management level, newsroom restructuring has taken place, giving rise to specific new roles such as Social Media Specialist, Creative Content, and Multimedia Journalism, alongside the implementation of a real-time and dynamic coordination system. In terms of content operations, conventional text-and-photo-based news is transformed into various multimedia (audio-visual) formats adaptive to the unique characteristics of each digital platform, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, and the web portal. The strategy for expanding audience segmentation is optimized through the utilization of actual analytical data (reach, engagement rate, shares) to map demographic preferences and target the long tail audience, specifically Gen Z and Millennials. Theoretically, this process reflects the models of convergence culture and mediamorphosis, which effectively preserve the existence and value of local journalism while expanding reader reach in the digital age

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on students' political awareness in the post-truth era by emphasizing the relationship between social media intensity, digital literacy, political perception, and political awareness and participation. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 36 university students. The questionnaire items were grouped into four dimensions: intensity of social media use and exposure, digital literacy and information verification, the influence of social media on political perception, and students' political awareness and participation. The findings show that the dimension of social media use and exposure obtained the highest mean score of 4.14. The dimension of social media influence on political perception reached 4.01, while digital literacy and information verification obtained a mean score of 4.01. Students' political awareness and participation recorded the lowest mean score of 3.65. These findings indicate that students are highly exposed to political information on social media and have fairly good critical awareness, yet active political participation such as joining online political discussions, signing online petitions, and sharing political content remains relatively lower.

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) is a strategic policy of the Indonesian government launched nationally on January 6, 2025 under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, aimed at improving the nutritional status of school-age children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, as well as addressing stunting and malnutrition issues across various regions of Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and its impact on improving the nutritional status of school-age children in Pasar Baru Village, South Kaur District, Kaur Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation study techniques, the research results show that the MBG program has been well-designed by the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional) based on Presidential Regulation No. 83 of 2024, but field implementation still faces obstacles such as distribution delays, limited menu variety, and an inconsistent monitoring system. Nevertheless, the program has had a positive impact on increasing children's body weight, improving dietary patterns, and enhancing students' concentration and school attendance.

This study aims to analyze and compare the effectiveness of online (daring) and offline (luring) learning on students’ understanding in Palangka Raya. A quantitative approach with a comparative descriptive design was employed. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 20 statements—ten related to online learning and ten related to offline learning—distributed to 110 students as respondents. The reliability test produced a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.945, indicating that the research instrument has excellent internal consistency. Descriptive analysis revealed an average score of 3.58 (SD = 0.897) for online learning and 3.81 (SD = 0.873) for offline learning, both of which fall into the high category. A Pearson correlation test showed a strong, significant, and positive relationship between students’ perceptions of online and offline learning (r = 0.619; p < .001). A paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference between the effectiveness of online and offline learning (t = -3.148; df = 109; p = .002), with offline learning obtaining a significantly higher mean score. These findings suggest that offline learning is perceived as more effective than online learning in enhancing student understanding, particularly in terms of interaction, focus, and motivation. Nevertheless, online learning remains advantageous in terms of time flexibility and learning autonomy, so that a combination of both methods (blended learning) may serve as a more optimal learning strategy.

Choosing a career is an important decision that shapes one’s future. Currently, civilservice is considered a promising profession because it offers long-term benefits such asa guaranteed pension and other allowances. This study aims to understand theperceptions of Gen Z—specifically, Communication Studies students at MulawarmanUniversity—regarding the decision to pursue a career in civil service. This study employsa qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore individual meaningsand experiences. This study applies DeVito’s Perception Theory and employs datacollection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation, utilizingCreswell’s data analysis techniques as the analytical method. The results indicate thatGen Z’s—specifically Communication Studies students’—perceptions of the civil serviceprofession are shaped by their interpretation of it as a symbol of life stability amid theeconomic uncertainty of the creative industry. The civil service profession is not seen asan obstacle to creativity but rather as a stable environment that allows for work-lifebalance, ensuring that life and work remain in harmony. The civil service is considered apromising profession because it offers career progression and the assurance of a brightfuture.

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed the way people access political information, particularly through social media, which has become increasingly dominant among university students. This study aims to analyze the role of the Meet Nite Live program in improving the political understanding of Political Science students in the digital era. The study employs a qualitative approach using the agenda setting theory as an analytical framework to examine how media shapes audience attention and interpretation of political issues. The analysis focuses on five aspects: issue salience, presentation style, intensity of exposure, transfer of salience, and meaning-making effects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving fifth-semester students of the Political Science Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Bangka Belitung. The findings reveal that Meet Nite Live contributes to enhancing students’ political understanding through communicative, contextual, and accessible presentations of political issues. The emphasis on topics such as corruption, geopolitics, and public policy increases students’ attention toward political matters, while repeated exposure through digital platforms strengthens their comprehension. Furthermore, the program encourages critical thinking and raises students’ awareness of socio-political realities. This study demonstrates that social media functions not only as a source of entertainment and information but also as an effective medium for political education in improving the political literacy of young generations in the digital era.
