Abstract

In general, students’ problem solving skills tend to be in a low category, this is shown by the number of students who have not been able to complete diagnostic tests given in the form of routine and non-routine problems. One of the factors that affect students’ mathematical problem-solving skills is self-efficacy. This study aims to find out students’ mathematical problem-solving and self-efficacy skills in the material of a two-variable linar equation system. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. The research method used is a descriptive analysis method. The subjects in this study were grade VIII students of the 2020/2021 school year who were in Pakuwon Subdistrict, Garut Subdistrict, Garut Regency which numbered 6 students. The sampling technique in this study is a purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used are mathematical problem-solving skills tests, self-efficacy questionnaires, interviews, and field records. The data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ problem-solving skills were at 75% with the high category and student self-efficacy was at 68% with the good category.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of learning styles. This research is qualitative with a qualitative descriptive approach. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Takalar. The subjects in this study were 3 students from class XI MIPA 1, 1 visual subject, 1 auditory subject, and 1 kinesthetic subject. The instruments used were a learning style questionnaire, a math problem solving test, and an interview guide. Data is obtained by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data using the triangulation method. Problem solving is described based on four indicators according to Polya, namely understanding the problem, planning a solution, solving the problem, and looking back. The results of this study indicate that: (1) visual subjects can understand problems, can plan, are less able to solve problems, and look back but are not thorough. (2) auditory subjects can understand the problem, can do planning, less able to solve problems, and do not look back. (3) kinesthetic subjects can understand problems by using fingers as pointers when reading and understanding questions, can plan, can solve problems, and look back.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa e-modul materi barisan dan deret untuk memfasilitasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis serta kevalidan dan kepraktisan e-modul. E-modul yang dikembangkan berdasarkan pemecahan masalah Polya dan berbasis model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan merupakan jenis penelitian RD. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan menurut Plomp yang terbagi menjadi tiga fase yaitu pendahuluan, pengembangan atau prototipe, dan penilaian.  Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 3 Kuningan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket. Angket digunakan untuk menguji kevalidan dan kepraktisan e-modul. Uji kevalidan dilakukan oleh 4 validator yang terdiri dari 1 dosen matematika, 1 dosen teknik informatika, 2 guru matematika. Uji kepraktisan dilakukan oleh 6 orang yang terdiri dari 2 guru matematika dan 4 siswa kelas XI SMA. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah mencari persentase pada uji kevalidan dan uji kepraktisan. Berdasar hasil analisis kevalidan e-modul dikategorikan “sangat valid” dan analisis kepraktisan e-modul dikategorikan “sangat baik”. E-modul yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan dilapangan karena memenuhi kategori kevalidan dan kepraktisan.  Peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat melakukan uji keefektivan bahan ajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi atas kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa khususnya pada pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui:(1) perbedaan kemampuan awal siswa;(2) kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diberikan model Snowball Throwing (3)pengaruh model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa;(4) motivasi belajar siswa setelah diberikan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji prasyarat, uji hipotesis, Effect Size dan persentase angket. Berdasarkan perhitungan:(1)uji-t data awal menunjukkan nilai sig yaitu 0,145 0,05;(2) uji- data akhir diperoleh nilai sig yaitu 0,00 0,05 ;(3)hasil uji Effect Size diperoleh nilai Cohen’s d =3,361;(4)hasil persentase angket motivasi sebesar 74%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1)tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan awal (2)kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang diberikan model Snowball Throwing lebih baik daripada konvensional;(3)pengaruh model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis tergolong sangat tinggi;(4)motivasi belajar siswa setelah diberikan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing tergolong kriteria baik. Kata Kunci: Snowball Throwing, Berpikir Kritis dan Motivasi Belajar

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research that aims to determine the quality of the items in the mathematics subject subject Geometry students at SDN 012 Tambak. The subjects in this study were practice questions in class V mathematics. The data from this research were obtained by collecting data in the form of daily math practice questions and answer sheets for class V students. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, in terms of content validity it is a valid item because it has rcount greater than rtabel at a significant level of 5%, in terms of overall reliability it is reliable with a distribution of 4 items of moderate reliability and 1 item of high reliability, in terms of difficulty level has a disproportionate distribution of difficulty level comparisons because there are more easy questions than moderate questions and there are no difficult items so that they are not in accordance with the comparison between easy-medium-difficult questions, and in terms of discriminating power most of them have discriminating power very good item.

Abstract

This research is a pre-experimental study involving an experimental class which aims to determine the effectiveness of learning through the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Approach in learning mathematics in class VII students of Al Hikmah Integrated Islamic Middle School, Pangkep Regency, 2021/2022 academic year. While the effectiveness of learning is viewed from three aspects, namely: the implementation of learning, classical learning completeness, student activity, and student responses. A learning is said to be effective if at least three of the four aspects above are met, provided that aspects of student activity and classical learning mastery are met. Student scores after learning mathematics through the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach have achieved classical mastery. The average positive student activity is 85.7% and 12.5% negative, this indicates that student activity in learning mathematics through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach can be said to be active. Student responses to learning the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach can be said to be in accordance with the standards set, namely exceeding 75% of students who gave a positive response. Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis, it shows that student learning outcomes before learning the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach are smaller than student learning outcomes after learning the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, thus learning mathematics through the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is effectively used on the subject of Algebra in class students VII Al Hikmah Integrated Islamic Middle School, Pangkep Regency.

Abstract

This type of research is a pre-experimental research involving one class as an experimental class with the aim of knowing the effectiveness of mathematics learning through the application of the Cooperative model of Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Makaasar. This study refers to the effectiveness criteria of learning, namely (1) Student mathematics learning outcomes with the application of the Cooperative model of Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC). (2) Mathematical learning activities of students with the application of the Cooperative model of Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC)  model and (3) Students' responses to the application of the Cooperative model of Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC). The research design is One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The experimental sample was students of class VII.A SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Makassar. Data collection techniques used were test results of learning, observation sheets of student activities, observation of teacher activities and student questionnaire responses. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and inferential using the t-test. The results of the study indicate that after going through the application of the cooperative model of integrated reading and composition (CIRC) descriptive analysis results show that: (1) The average score of the initial test (pretest) the results of students mathematics learning was 28,84 with a standard deviation of 12,46 and the average score of the final test (postest) was 82,04 with a standard deviation of 5,704. From these results showed that 23 students have achieved mastery of the individual and this means that the mastery of the classical has been reached. (2) The average percentage of students achieving the expected frequenci of activity effectively, ie 80,50. (3) Questionnaire student responses indicate that students response to the cooperative model of integrated reading and composition (CIRC) which is 85,2 %. (4) The ability of teachers to manage learning mathematics through of the cooperative model of integrated reading and composition (CIRC) are in the very good category ie 3,58 %. Inferential analysis results indicate that the data pretest and postest has met normality test with p    = 0,05. The results of testing the hypothesis by using t-test one sample test with previously made Normalized gain on the data pretest and postest data is obtained P = 0,000    = 0,05. So that  rejected and  be accepted. From the results of the above research, it can be concluded that mathematics learning through the application of the of the cooperative model of integrated reading and composition (CIRC) is effectively applied to class VII students. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran Van Hiele pada materi sifat-sifat bangun datar segi empat di kelas VII D SMP Negeri 8 Jayapura. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan gabungan (kualitatif dan kuantitatif). Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 22 peserta didik. Pemilihan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru, lembar observasi peserta didik, dan tes individu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan, penelitian ini berjalan dengan baik disebabkan terlaksanakannya semua tahapan pada model pembelajaran Van Hiele. Dari hasil observasi guru diperoleh kategori baik dan hasil observasi peserta didik diperoleh kategori sangat aktif. Dari hasil tes individu yang diberikan peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat dua peserta didik mencapai tingkat 0 (Visualisasi), empat peserta didik mencapai tingkat 1 (Analisis)  dan 16 peserta didik mencapai tingkat 2 (Informal deduktif).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning creativity and interest in learning mathematics on mathematics learning outcomes for students of class XI IPA MAN 1 Polewali Mandar. This research is an ex-post facto causal research with a research sample of 72 students, namely 20 students of class XI IPA 1, 20 students of class XI IPA 2, and 20 students of class IPA 3, 12 students of class XI IPA 4 MAN 1 Polewali Mandar selected by using proportionate stratified simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used the following instruments: (1) mathematics learning interest questionnaire, (2) interest in learning mathematics questionnaire, (3) mathematics learning outcomes test. Data analysis using descriptive analysis and  inferential analysis. The result of the descriptive analysis of the data showed that: (1) learning creativity was in the high category, (2) interest in learning was in the medium category, and (3) students’ mathematics learning outcomes were in the medium category. The results of hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression, namely: (1) learning creativity has a positive and significant effect on students mathematics learning outcomes, (2) interest in learning has a positive and significant learning outcomes, (3) learning creativity and interest in learning has a positive and significant effect on students mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the aim of varying the teaching that is too formal and theoretical which affects students' interest in learning mathematics. Therefore, learning mathematics is needed at the beginning of formal mathematics education, uniting mathematics and culture in certain activity phases according to the level of student development. The presence of culturally nuanced mathematics makes an important contribution to school mathematics. This study focuses on one of the cultural objects in Kuantan Singingi district, namely Batik Nagori. The purpose of this study is to determine the mathematical concepts of geometry contained in batik motifs. This study uses a qualitative research type with an ethnographic approach. The data collection method used is literature study. In analyzing the data using data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study indicate that there are mathematical concepts of geometry in the form of triangles, hexagons, squares, trapezoids.
