Abstract

This article aims to analyze the da'wah of the Salafi Cileungsi of Bogor in fighting terrorism by looking at two things: their understanding of jihad and their socio-cultural action involvement. The theoretical concept used is the traditionalist Salafi (purist) concept which is different from the political Salafi and jihadi Salafi. The study uses a qualitative method, in which data are collected by interviewing, observing, and reading the community's official website. This study shows that the traditionalist Salafis of Cileungsi understand jihad in a contextual sense in which violence in the name of jihad and religion (Islam) is not justified and is inconsistent with Islamic shari'a. In addition, they display socio-cultural actions by establishing schoolhouses/educational institutions and providing moral and material assistance to people in need. They also offer jobs for the surrounding society. Contextual understanding of jihad and involvement in social action shows the humanization of Islamic teachings by Salafis. Social care is oriented towards development and peace, while terrorism is oriented towards violence and destruction. Thus, it can be said that the traditionalist Salafi of Cileungsi emphasized moderate and humanist religious ways in their preaching (da'wah). Keywords: Tradisionalist-Salafis, Cileungsi, Jihad, Social-Cultural Action, Terorrism.

Abstract

Tamadun Islam once reached its peak in a long period of time on earth, both in the fields of science, economics, politics and law. The triumph of Islamic civilization gave a great contribution to the emergence of western civilization which has been trapped for so long on the dominance of church power that limits academic freedom and scientific findings. Having managed to rise from adversity, the west then rose and became a major competitor for the Islamic civilization. finally, the Islamic civilization through the crusade and the war of thought they succeeded in winning by subverting Islamic power in the Ottoman Turks in 1924. After the fall of Islamic civilization, Muslims lost their power and authority. The greatness possessed by Islam gradually began to be replaced by secular western civilization. This study discusses how to reconstruct the Islamic civilization which has been destroyed from its place as the center of world civilization with a da'wah approach and thought. By using the approach of political analysis and da'wah this study shows that: first, da'wah rebuilding Islamic civilization must be done in congregation or collectively. Second, the nature of the struggle must not neglect the political aspects which in fact are the guardians of Islamic civilization. third, the da'wah approach that must be taken does not use violence and intimidation but through changes in Islamic thought to touch the substantial aspects of Islamic thought, namely aqidah, sharia and moralsKeyword: Tamadun, Da'wah, Reconstruction

Abstract

National development is intended to achieve dynamic social change in the form of meeting the basic needs of society. The process of social change increases the standard of living of the poor as a whole, where development is carried out to complement each other through the process of economic development. However, if this change process does not go according to plan, it shows an indication of a deficiency in the program. Government assistance such as the Food Social Assistance (Sembako Program) is one form of social protection effort to reduce the expenditure burden of poor and vulnerable families in meeting their food needs. The efficient use of grants is also the key to the success of the development process itself. Herein lies the important role of the structural functions of each agent such as the Social Service as a local policy maker, the State Bank Association (Himbara) as a distributor of funds, a Supplier as a supplier of foodstuffs, an Agent / E-Warong as a food seller and a Beneficiary Family (KPM) as a fund manager. If their respective roles are not in accordance with the main policies of the program makers, this shows that there is a deficiency in the use of grants that are not in accordance with general guidelines. Keywords: Poverty, Food Social Assistance, Structural-Functional

Abstract

This article discusses Islam and Halal products. Specifically, this article highlights a number of commercial advertisements for halal products that use religious norms as branding in Indonesia. The ad is seen as commodification of religion and consolidation of religious identity, as well as showing the lifestyle of middle-class Muslims. This article also explores the perceptions of young rural Muslim women who are members of the Parit Baru Village Mosque Youth Association regarding Islamic phenomena and halal products. Methodologically, this article is descriptive qualitative research. The data in this study were obtained from the field through direct interviews with a number of Muslim women at the Parit Baru Village Mosque, and also from searching data by collecting various related literature, books, magazines, and data available on the internet, as well as participating in a number of activities in online space such as watching live streaming, online videos and other data related to this research. The results of the study show that Islam is a broad religion, marked by Islamic attention and regulations regarding halal products for consumption by Muslims in their daily lives, which is also an aspect of Islamic teachings. This article also concludes that advertisements for halal products in Indonesia use religious norms as branding to gain profit on the one hand, and indirectly educate middle-class Muslims, especially women, to maintain the use of the hijab as a form of representation of religious identity on the other hand. This can be seen as a form of consolidation of religious identity on the one hand and the commodification of religion on the other. Keywords: Islam, Halal Products, Commodification of Religion, Religious Identity
