Abstract

The children’s attitude in praying against Allah is affected by the nurturing pattern of their parents and individualization method in kindergarten. If children are nurtured under dialogical pattern and individualized method in class, they will develop the positive attitude on praying against Allah. This research is attempted to identify the interrelationship among those variables above. Under a statistic analysis of t-test, the researcher finds that: 1) the dialogical nurturant pattern of parents has positive effect on the attitude on praying by Fo>Ft (38.55 > 4.11) under 0.05 of significant value. 2) the dialogical nurturant pattern and individualized method in class have significant effect on the attitude on praying by Fo>Ft ( 33.33>4.11) under 0.05 significant value. 3)  the dialogical nurturant pattern and individualized method in class show interaction against the attitude on praying by Fp>Ft (6.32>4.11) under 0.05 significant value.Key words:    dialogical nurturant pattern, individualized method, children’ attitude on praying.

Abstract

Teachers’ work satisfaction becomes one of dimensions for measuring the teachers’ performance in carrying out their educational tasks. Work satisfaction is originated from the establishment of motivation as the unity of concept of needs, encouraging objectives and rewards. Satisfaction is a perception of an individual under which he feels that he has perceived what he hopes through his job, where there is no significant difference between his want and his gain. Work satisfaction is experienced by teachers in relation to their duties and responsibilities as educational staff at schools. This research is intended to identify the determining exogenous variables consisting of schools’ organizational climate, head masters’ leadership, teachers’ professionalism and work motivation, and the manifest variables’ indicators which directly or indirectly influence the teachers’ work satisfaction at SMUs in Madiun. This research is served under corelational design by confirmatory model which is initiated by a thorough theoretical review. The confirmatory factors is served to measure the model fitness towards the data drawn for analysis. Model fitness implemented in this research is Goodness of Fit (GOF).The analysis is carried out based on the linear relationship among variables under Structural Equation Model (SEM) by Linear Structural Relationship (LISREL).The overall analysis results in conclusions that: determining factor which influence the teachers’ work satisfaction is schools’ organizational climate by 0.335, successively the determining factor of headmasters’ leadership and work motivation show the equal score of 0.349  and determining factor of teachers’ professionalism shows the least score of 0.282. This recommends a serious attention of the local authority to encourage the development of teachers’ professionalism indicators which can not be inevitably overlooked for educational quality. The total direct influence of motivation towards the teachers’ work satisfaction is 0.349. The confirmatory analysis shows that the teachers’ motivation is fit which is proved by the significance of motivation variable at the level of α/2 (0.025) equals to ± 1.96. Being seen under probability (P) score, all of the motivation dimension variables are less than 0.05 so as to confirm that the loading factor is significant. The overall analysis results in conclusions that: determining factor which influence the teachers’ work satisfaction is schools’  dimention recognition with estimate value 0,628. Its means recognition dimention of variable (Y2)  to be explanation for 62,8%, and more than  60,6% influence reserachs for other variable.

Abstract

This research is intended to: 1) identify the effectiveness of computer-based media in teaching Social Science. 2) depict the attraction of computer multimedia in teaching Social Science. This research is carried out under experimental design with pre-test and post-test on Elementary School of Percobaan II, Caturtunggal, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Fourth Grade, Semetser Two, Term 2007/2008. The subjects of the research consist of 42 students who belong to control class and 44 students who belong to experiment class, who are drawn under random sampling technique. The data drawn by test applied to both groups are analyzed by means of independent t-test to identify the effectiveness of multimedia. To identify the attraction of multimedia the data are drawn under descriptive-quantitative method. Treatment is carried out for the experiment class by making use of storyboard which is validated by 1 expert in multimedia and 1 expert of teaching materials. The implementation is carried out on 6 students of small group and 36 students of large group. The analysis shows a significant different of achievement between control and experiment classes. The counted t (by 6.5) is higher than the table t (by 2.39) under 0.000 < 0.01 of significance value for df (degree of freedom) of 84. Ho is then disapproved indicating that there is significant different of the students’ achievement under both classes. The overall attraction of multimedia is tentatively high, with the average score of 4.2 (at 1-5 scale) out of 22 indicators measuring graphic, animation, video, colour, letters, backing music.Key words:          effectiveness, teaching Social Science, computer-based multimedia.

This research serves objectives as: 1) to identify whether Guided Teaching technique able to upgrade the students’ achievement. 2) to depict the process of teaching and learning under Guided Teaching technique. 3) to describe the teachers efforts to upgrade the students’ achievement under Guided Teaching technique. This research os carried out under the classroom action research design, with 34 students of grade XII PJ 1 as the research subjects. The 2 cycles design of this research is attempted to reach 7.5 of the threshold level with 75% of minimal class learning achievement. The first cycle result average score of 63.97 by 52.94% of minimal class learning achievement; where the threshold level is not yet achieved. The second cycle recover the score by 78.82 with 82.35% minimal class learning achievement. Out of the mentioned results, there are also qualitative outcomes which stated as follows: learning activity, class interaction, sharing of knowledge between and among students are encouraged under Guided Teaching Method; recommending that the method significantly makes up the students’ achievement quanitatively and qualitatively.Key words: Method, Guided Teaching, Cooperative Learning, Economics

Abstract

The main factor owing to the low quality of learning on electronics is the lack and misconception of the prerequisite subjects. The other supporting factors are the unfamiliarity of electronic components among students, the low skill in arranging electronic components and the poor capability in applying electronic measurement device. All of the mentioned factors have become the presumptions leading to the students’ failure in learning. Yet, the real causes of the students’ failure are worth searching. This research is then attempted to set learning model through observation on students’ problems. This research is carried out within the framework of lesson study 2010 program funded by the dikti on the Electronics I subject, semester VA, the Physics Study Program. This research is packed under classroom action research design, with 1 lecturer model and 2 observers. The problems are overcome by cognitive conflict-based learning method posing experiments, demonstrations, preaching and discussion. The analysis results in conclusions: 1) 50% of students are not capable in using measurement device and in arranging electronic components, 2) the use of LCD infocus helps students observe the demonstration, even from re4atively far places, 3) discussion can encourage students to make cognitive conflicts to reach the most proper concepts, 4) preaching method given in more than 30 minutes makes students get bored, which is then resolved by combination of 10 minutes preaching and 10 minutes discussion respectively.Key words: cognitive conflict, experiments, demonstration, preaching, discussion.
