Abstract

Coffee is the bean of the coffee plant and is the source of coffee drinks. Coffee beans must pass through the coffee roasting stage or also called coffee roasting, from this stage of the process the coffee will be roasted and this process also has its own level. At this stage of the roasting process coffee shop business people often do not know this process, then in this case used Local Binary Pattern (LBP) method. LBP is a simple and very efficient texture operator by labeling pixels by doing thresholding on each pixel neighbors and considers the result as a binary number. This method is used to obtain the texture ektrasi of an image. While for the classification method using the Naive Bayes Classifier (NBC) method. Naive Bayes is a simple probabilistic classifier that calculates a set of probabilities by summing the frequencies and combinations of values from a given dataset. The algorithm uses Bayes' theorem and assumes all the independent or non-interdependent attributes given by the values on the class variables. From the test results by comparing training data and testing data obtained an accuracy rate of 81%. For an image-based developed system with display recognition difficulties, this performance is good.

Abstract

Increasing customer awareness of environmental issues, including awareness of the decreasing capacity of landfills for final disposal, requires industries puts more thought into the reverse logistics (RL) process. Implementing this process requires an in-depth study, especially on barriers to implementing an effective RL system. Based on these problems, this study aims to analyze the RL system's barriers, especially in Indonesian construction machinery remanufacturing companies. In general, the barriers to implementing an effective RL system are categorized as internal and external barriers. Data gathering was carried out to identify internal and external barriers to implementing an effective RL system in construction machinery remanufacturing companies. This step was carried out through literature studies, interviews with academics and practitioners in the field of RL systems, and distributing questionnaires. Furthermore, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach ranks the barriers to implementing the RL system, which is a priority for construction machinery remanufacturing companies. This research contributes to a compilation of RL system barriers, especially in the construction machinery remanufacturing industry. The result analysis using AHP showed that the priority score of criteria activity front-end is the biggest.

Abstract

The classification of plastic bag waste made from HDPE and LDPE is based on colour obtained white and black in dominant quantities in addition to red, blue, yellow, and others. Through the experimental method, heating on a gas stove at a temperature of 40-700C can melt the plastic bag waste. Heating is done to meet the trash so that it can be manually moulded into various geometric shapes. Selection of the optimal shape and size of the mould is needed to realize the geometric board shape. De Stijl's style in Piet Mondrian's 2D work is used as the basis for composing the printed composition. The design method is used to realize the arrangement into a geometric board shape with a colour composition in De Stijl's modernism style. The boards will be resin reinforced by the FRP method. The board is used to make stool products, pegboards and corner tables.

Abstract

Sukamoro area, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera, was the research location. This investigation focuses on the origin of sandstones from the Talang Akar Formation. In the area of investigation, sandstones are widely dispersed and exhibit a variety of properties. Due to the abundance of sandstones found and their high resistance and physical compactness, an analysis of the original rock can be carried out. Generally, the material that makes up sandstone comes from the previous rock. This investigation was undertaken using a descriptive-analytical methodology to determine the origin of the rock. The collected surface data is subsequently petrographically examined. After determining the composition of the constituent minerals, a provenance analysis was conducted to determine that the Talang Akar Formation's sandstones originated from the Magmatic Arc. Furthermore, the Talang Akar sandstone reveals the origin of the Recycle Orogen. Thus, it is considered that the sandstones of the Talang Akar Formation have seen many uplift episodes as a result of tectonic activity, almost to the point where they have experienced an increase in the maturity or stability of their continental block provenances

Abstract

Jember is one of cities in East Java which has been very famous in the world. This city is dubbed as a carnaval city because it organizes an annual festival namely “Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC)”. It is a fashion carnaval that presents the creativity of Indonesian artists. This sort of event has so famed that many foreign visitors come and see. Jember Fashion Carnaval has become a great event of entertainment and tourism that make Jember and even Indonesian people proud of. Moreover, this event exhibits cultural and art fashion show in the international level. Unfortunately, a specific place which can accommodate this kind of activity has not been available yet. As a result, JFC and art show are paraded along the roads in Jember. Thus, a Cultural Activity Centre of Fashion Carnaval in Jember is necessary to be designed by employing symbolic architecture. To collect the data, the researcher implemented field study and literature study as well as descriptive analysis method. The macro concept of this design entitled iconic under the symbolic theme will make Jember as a Carnival city. Meanwhile, the micro concept of recreational land order is actualized in centered-circulation pattern getting the philosophy of JFC logo. The micro concept of adaptive shape occurs by adapting the shape of JFC symbol as the costume of building, whereas the micro concept of thematic space derives from the philosophy of JFC fashion products which have different themes for every event. The facilities provide show area, convention hall, organizer office, restaurant and inn, training and workshop, art gallery, and souvenir shop. They are designed to facilitate all activities related to JFC. Accordingly, this design is expected to be an area which can support JFC event for youths who want to develop and continue the art works produced by Indonesian people so that this event can last long and improve other subsequent events.

Abstract

The increasing environmental impact caused by hospital wastewater, particularly due to its ammonia content, necessitates innovative treatment methods. This study investigates the effectiveness of a combination of sugarcane bagasse-based activated carbon bio-adsorbent and nanofiltration membrane technology to reduce ammonia concentrations in hospital wastewater. The activated carbon was produced through carbonization at 550°C and chemical activation using 10% H2SO4. Adsorption experiments were conducted by varying bed heights (5, 7.5, and 10 cm) and flow rates (2, 3, and 4 L/min), followed by nanofiltration at 25, 30, and 35 Psi pressures. Results showed that the combined treatment reduced the wastewater pH from 9.08 to 6.53 and ammonia concentration from 4.61 mg/L to 0.02 mg/L, successfully meeting regulatory standards. This indicates that the integrated method effectively decreases ammonia levels and improves wastewater quality before discharge.
