Abstract

This study aims to determine: the effectiveness of the development of problem based learning model based on Batak culture implemented in learning tools developed, improvement of problem solving skills of physics that dibelajarkan with model based learning based on batak culture. Type of research is development (development of research) by using model of development of Thiagaraian, Semmel and Semmel that is 4-D model (four D Model). The sample in the study is one class X of all classes of MIA X present in the research site. The instrument used is a problem-solving test. Data in the study were analyzed using N-gani. The results showed that: the effectiveness of learning tools through the model based learning based on Batak culture in improving the ability of problem solving physics has been able to be said to be effective for use in learning, there is improvement of problem solving problems of physics students using learning tools based on culture based Batak on measurement material

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect model of problem-based  learning (PBL) with initial conceptual understanding of the science process skills of students on the material Waves and Sound. This research is a quasi experimental with the entire population of high school students of class XII HKBP Sidorame Medan academic year 2014/2015. The instrument used in this study is to test understanding of concepts in the form of multiplechoice tests and science process skills test in the form of description. Science process skills of observation carried out during the learning process and test understanding of concepts used before the beginning of learning to classify students into groups of high and low understanding of the concept and science process skills test conducted sebelim and after application of learning models. Science process skills test data analyzed by statistical test to test the hypothesis using t-test. Improved science process skills analyzed by normalized gain value, N-gain. The results showed that the model of problem-based learning (PBL) with high initial understanding of the concept of influence on science process skills of students with a significant difference to students with low to the understanding of the concept of matter waves and sound. And the conventional group was not significant differences between the groups pemahamn low and high concept. Application of PBL models can better improve students' science process skills than conventional models and are included in the medium category.

Abstract

The research had done in sixth (VI) semester students of Physics Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan 2018/2019 Academic Year, the total is 20 people. Researchers applied PhET Simulation Interactive based learning by using komputers on modern physics material. The type of research is Classroom Action Research that conducted in three cycles. The purpose of this study was to find out the increasing of understanding student concepts through the application of PhET-based learning media, due to the learning of Modern Physics and it was hoped that students would be able to follow the development of knowledge and technology, one of them is nanotechnology. The learning media that used in this study are Lesson Plan (RPP), Instruments, student activity observation sheets, and observation sheets of the lecturers’ ability to manage learning.The results showed that the application of PhET simulation learning media in physics learning was effective in increasing the understanding of physics concepts of modern physics subject students increasing in each cycle. In the first cycle, the ability to understand the concepts of student physics is still very low with a percentage of 45%, the learning method is still centered on the lecturer, and the response of students to subjects is low. After applying the PhET simulation in cycle II, the understanding of students 'physics concepts increased to 65%, the level of lecturer management in learning was 69.23%, and the students' response was positive in learning. In cycle III, the learning objectives are achieved with a level of understanding the concepts of physics by 85%, pengeloalan lecturers in the classroom by 84.6%, and learning increasingly attract the attention of students. It can be concluded that the PhET simulation learning media in physics learning is very effective to improve student activity in modern physics subject matter of photoelectric effects. The practicality of animation media using simulations can be seen from the students' responses to the implementation of learning using the PhET simulation media for the photoelectric effect results of the development of material / content, linguistic, presentation and graphic aspects. Students are increasingly interested because it is easier and helped to learn through PhET simulation media. The application of PhET simulation learning media in physics learning contributes effectively to lecturers to develop professionalism in managing learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan hasil belajar Fisika siswa yang diterapkan model pembelajaran peningkatan kemampuan berpikir pada materi pokok Besaran dan Pengukuran. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Balige semester I tahun ajaran 2008/2009 yang berjumlah 6 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini diambil dari dua kelas yang homogen dari semua kelas populasi yaitu kelas XE (sebagai kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XF (Sebagai kelas kontrol) yang masing-masing berjumlah 40 orang. Dari hasil uji t diperoleh untuk postes thitung = 5,303 sedangkan ttabel = 1,994 karena thitung > ttabel (5,303 > 1,994) maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran peningkatan kemampuan berpikir terhadap hasil belajarFisika siswa pada materi pokok Besaran dan Pengukuran di SMA Negeri 1 Balige.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the physics Science Process Skills Students on cognitive and psychomotor aspects by using model based Project Based Learning training.The object of this study is the Project Based Learning model used in the learning process of Computationa Physics.The method used is classroom action research through two learning cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. In the first cycle of treatment with their emphasis given training in the first phase up to third in the model Project Based Learning, while the second cycle is given additional treatment with emphasis discussion is collaboration in achieving the best results for each group of products. The results of data analysis showed increased ability to think Students on cognitive and Science Process Skills in the psychomotor.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Discovery Learning to learning outcomes students on temperature and heat material. Research  type is quasi experiment. The population in this research is all students of class X in SMA Negeri 20 Medan. The sample of the research is taken with class random sampling technique. In this study the measurements in the form of pretest to the subject and then treated with Discovery Learning models. The Instrument of this study was a learning result test and student activity observation sheet. The analysis result that there is a difference because effect of Discovery Learning models to learning outcomes students on temperature and heat material.

Abstract

This research aims to analyzed (1) the difference between students the learning outcomes of students who were taught physics using Discovery Learning Model with multimedia and Direct Instruction Model. (2) The difference between physics students learning outcomes in the group that have low and high creativity. (3) Interaction creativity level who were taught using Discovery Learning Model with multimedia and Direct Instruction Model on learning outcomes of physics. This research was a quasi experiment. The population of this research was a student os class X MIA SMAN 5 Medan of the academic year 2013/2014. Sampling technique using a cluster random sampling consisting of two classes with 46 samples for the control class and 45 samples for the experiment class. The instrument of this research is in form of test learning result and creativity test. The technique used to analyze the data is the two way Varian of analysis. Based on the results of data processing, concluded that (1) there was a significant difference between the student achievement taught with discovery learning model with multimedia and those were taught with direct instruction model. (2) There was a significant difference between student achievement that has high creativity and low creativity. (3) There was a significant interaction between discovery learning model and direct instruction with the creativity level toward students’ achievement of physics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills, analyzing whether the improvement of critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills that are taught by the problem-based learning model using mind map better than students who are taught by conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research with two group pretest-posttest design. The research population is all students of class X SMA Negeri 2 Bandar (senior high school) in first semester, academic year 2017/2018. The study sample was taken randomly consisting of 64 students. Class X MIPA-1 is an experimental class, consisting of 32 students with learning problem model learning using mind map. Class X MIPA-3 is a control class consisting of 32 students using conventional learning. The research instrument uses essay test of critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills that have been declared valid. Data analysis using statistical t-test. The results showed that the average value of critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills using conventional learning was 61.09 and 61.88 were in a low category while the students applying the problem-based learning model using mind map were 75.78 and 77.56 are in the moderate category. The result of hypothesis testing using independent sample t-test shows that each significance value (sig) <0.05 is 0.00 then H0 is rejected, it means that the skills of critical thinking and problem-solving skills of students who are treated with problem-based learning model using mind map is better than conventional learning, so it can be concluded that there is the effect of problem based learning model using mind map to improve critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills

Abstract

Habits of mind merupakan kemampuan siswa untuk mengontrol perilaku positif agar memiliki rasa percaya diri dan berkepribadian mantap. Dalam pembelajaran fisika habits of mind sangat penting untuk membentuk karakter belajar siswa yang positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan membentuk kemampuan habits of mind melalui penerapan pendidikan karakter pada mata pelajaran fisika di SMA Negeri I Tanah Jawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa habits of mind siswa 1). Self Regulated Thingking adalah cukup baik, yaitu kemampuan siswa untuk “Menyadari jalan pikirannya sendiri” mencapai 100 %, “Membuat rencana yang efektif” mencapai 100 % dan “Kemampuan mencari informasi” mencapai 87,50%. 2) Sedangkan Critical Thinking yaitu “Mengupayakan keakuratan” mencapai 90,63%, “Berpandangan terbuka” mencapai 43,75%, dan “Menghindari perilaku tanpa difikirkan” mencapai 93,75%. 3) Kemampuan Creative Thingking  adalah “Mengupayakan menyelesaikan tugas” mencapai 93,75%, “Mendorong sesuatu yang diyakini tidak dapat mengerjakannya” mencapai  81,25%, dan “Menemukan solusi sendiri terhadap masalah” mencapai 84,38%. Selanjutnya kemampuan habits of mind guru yang belum dikembangkan adalah “Mendorong siswa menyadari dan menggunakan sumber-sumber informasi yang perlu” dan “Mendorong siswa berpandangan terbuka” serta “Mendorong siswa menemukan solusi sendiri terhadap masalah”. Disarankan kemampuan Critical Thinking guru masih perlu diperbaiki. Kemampuan Creative Thingking guru kurang maksimal dilakukan. Sehingga pada penelitian selanjutnya perlu dilakukan pembimbingan dan dorongan agar siswa termotivasi membuat dan memikirkan cara pandang yang inovatif dan kreatif dalam menemukan ide baru untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan nyata.

Abstract

Abstract. Physics is a subject that is related to other scientific concepts and can be applied in everyday life. So, the application of physics in learning really requires special skills, namely science process skills. Science process skills are divided into two, namely basic science process skills and integrated science process skills. This study aims to measure the ability of integrated science process skills of SMAN 10 Muaro Jambi students on the equilibrium material on the rope using observation sheets that are in accordance with the indicators of science process skills. This type of research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach. The research design used was survey / observation research. This research was conducted in the physics laboratory of SMAN 1 Muaro Jambi in the academic year 2020/2021 with a sample of 40 students of SMAN 10 Muaro Jambi who majored in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. From the research results, it can be seen that the integrated science process skills of students at SMAN 10 Muaro Jambi are classified as good.
