Abstract

Critical thinking skills are fundamental skills in 21st century learning. Based on preliminary research in 25 junior high schools in Bandar Lampung, physics teaching and learning has not been maximized in empowering students’ critical thinking skills. This research aims to determine the effect of the implementation of Argument Driven Inquiry learning model to the critical thinking skills of students based on academic ability. This research uses Quasi Experiment method with Pretest Posttest Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The data collected through critical thinking instrument test before and after learning with Argument-Driven Inquiry model. The data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test to determine difference after learning through Argument Driven Inquiry model. The results showed that (1) there is effect of implementation Argument Driven Inquiry learning model to critical thinking skill of high academic student shown by sig value. 0,021 (2) there is effect of implementation Argument Driven Inquiry learning model to critical thinking skill of low academic student shown by sig value. at 0.003 at 95% confidence level. We conclude that the implementation of Argument Driven Inquiry model effective to improve the critical thinking skill of students with high and low academic ability

The study sample comprised 2 classes taken by cluster randomsampling is a class X-3 as a class experiment given cooperative learningmodel Numbered Heads Together Student Activity Sheet assisted and X-9 asa control class with direct instructional model, each of which consists of 40students. Pretest data obtained average value is the experimental class andcontrol class 34.90 is 37.10. After being given a different treatment to thesecond class, the average values obtained posttest for the experimental classwas 73.20 and 66.80 control class. The results of testing hypotheses obtainedt-test = 2.78 and t-table = 1.99 at  significance level α = 0.05 and df = 78, ttest>t-table. It showed no significant difference in the learning outcomes of students using cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together Sheet assisted Student Activity with learning model directly in the subject matterOptical Geometry in class X Semester 2 SMAN 7 T.P. 2012/2013.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are: To determine differences in learning outcomes of students with learning model Cooperative Group Investigation and Direct Instruction teaching model, to determine differences in learning outcomes student's mastery of the material that has low prerequisite Physics and Physics prerequisite mastery high, to determine the interaction between Models of Learning and the level of mastery learning model materials physics prerequisite in improving student learning outcomes Physics. The sample in this study conducted in a cluster random sampling of two classes, where the first class as a class experiment applied learning models Cooperative Group Investigation as a class and the second class of controls implemented Direct Instruction model. The instrument is used in this study is physics learning outcomes tests in narrative form as many as 10 questions and materials physics prerequisite mastery tests in narrative form as many as 7 questions that have been declared valid and reliable. The results were found: there are differences in physical students learning outcomes are taught by Cooperative Group Investigation learning model and Direct Instruction teaching model. There is a difference in student's learning outcomes that have a low mastery of prerequisite Physics and Physics prerequisite mastery of the material is high. There is interaction between learning models and the level of student mastery of the material prerequisites of Physics in influencing the physical students learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the conceptual knowledge of the students using cooperative learning model of group investigation type toward conceptual knowledge on the subject matter of temperature and heat in class XI semester I SMK Muhammadiyah 8 Medan T.P. 2017/2018. The research type is quasi experiment with pretest-postes design. The population of the study were all students of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 8 Medan. The research sample consisted of 2 classes determined by cluster random sampling technique. Class XI TKJ - 1 as experimental class by applying cooperative learning model type investigation and class XI TKJ - 2 as control class by applying conventional learning model. The instrument used in this study is the test of cognitive learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice which is accompanied by observation of student activity. Based on the results of pretest data processing using different test, the value of both classes at the significant level α = 0.05 concluded there is no significant difference from the value of pretes of both classes, meaning that the two classes have the same initial ability. Furthermore the two classes are treated differently, after the learning is completed in both classes is done postes. Based on the results of hypothesis testing with a significant level of 0.05 concluded that there is a difference in conceptual knowledge due to the influence of cooperative learning model type group investigation of conceptual knowledge on the subject matter of temperature and heat in class XI semester I SMK Muhammadiyah 8 Medan

Abstract

Has done research for the purpose of to determine Has done research for the purpose of to determine the relationship between the understanding of the concept of students with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in the academic year 2017, the second, to determine how much stronger relationship understanding of the concept with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws class X SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in the academic year 2017, the third, to know how big contribution to the understanding of the concept of the ability to solve problems of newton's laws of class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in academic year 2017. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat with the population of all students in class X IPA at SMAN 1 Angkola Barat and a sample was taken 30 students of class X IPA 2 by using purposive sampling mehtod. Research using correlation method and data were analyzed by statistical methods. The study used a data collection tool that tests Understanding Concepts and Problem Solving Ability Test Physics. The study used data collection tool is calibrated through validity and reliability test. The results of the study there is a relationship between students' understanding of the concept with the ability to solve problems of Newton's laws of class X student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat Academic Year 2017. After koefien consult with the correlation table "r" of Pearson Product Moment, turned out rhit > rtab. Both at the level of 0.01 (1%) and 0.05 (5%), ie 0.975> 0.361 and 0.975> 0.463. While, testing the significance turns thit > ttab ie 23.44> 1.9958. While, the contribution of variable X to variable Y by 95.06%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the basic skills of teaching prospective teacher students in microteaching courses. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research design is survey research. The research population used was students of the Physics Education Study Program UNWAHA. The assessment instrument in the study is the instrument / rubric for assessing the basic skills of teaching prospective teacher students. Research data collection by observing the implementation of student learning by observers of 3 lecturers with 3 observations. The assessment instrument uses a Likert scale with a scale of 1-4. The research data obtained were in the form of an average rating of basic teaching skills (quantitative data) and the results of comments from observers (qualitative data). The results showed that prospective teacher students in the category were good enough on the average assessment of basic teaching skills with a value of 2.80. It is expected that prospective teacher students improve their questioning skills, variety skills, guiding discussion skills and class management skills in Microteaching activities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes of students who use learning strategies based on problems with the conventional instructional strategies in the subject matter and measuring student learning activities when using learning strategies based on problems with conventional learning. The study was quasi-experimental. The population is all class X Semester Gasal SMA Swasta Martadinata consisting of 9 classes. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling by taking 2 classes of 9th grade classes were randomly ie X-7 as the experimental class and numbered 34, the class X-6 as a control class numbered 35 people. The results showed the average value of the experimental class pretest 32.20 with a standard deviation of 12.40 and a control class 31.40 with a standard deviation of 10.90. After completion of learning is given, the value of the average post-test on the experimental class of 76.50 with a standard deviation of 9.20 and a control class is 69.00 with a standard deviation of 9.10. T-test analysis results of the two parties obtained tcount = 3.42, while for ttable = 1.67 so that tcount > ttable. This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, or is there a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students who use learning strategies based on problems with student learning outcomes using conventional learning.
