Abstract

AbstractCurrently, many learners, while learning, tend to learn by memorizing, for example memorizing mathematics formulas. This matter made the fourth graders of Public Primary School 1 Jepang had mathematical misconceptions. Thus, they had a low mathematic conceptual understanding. This research determined the influence of the GIBRAN GIAT education game on the mathematic conceptual understanding of fourth graders at Primary School 1 Jepang. This quasi-experimental research applied one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of all fourth graders at Primary School 1 Jepang, 20 students, 9 males, and 11 females. The researchers collected the data by observing, documenting, and testing. The researchers also applied expert judgment and requirement tests with the normality test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov assisted by SPSS Version 23. The researchers examined the hypotheses with a paired-sample t-test assisted by SPSS version 23. The results showed the differences in learners' mathematics conceptual understanding. The obtained paired-sample t-test results were sig < 0.05 or 0.000 lower than 0.05. Thus, the researchers concluded the implementation of the GIBRAN GIAT education game influenced the fourth graders' mathematics conceptual understanding at Primary School 1 Jepang, Mejobo District, Kudus Regency. Keywords: Educational Game, GIBRAN GIAT

Abstract

AbstractThis research is based on the low ability of understanding mathematics in learning. Purpose of this study was to analyze differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts before and after using the Mat Joyo application. Type of research is quantitative research with pre-experimental design research method with one group pretest-posttest design. Subjects in this study were all the fifth grade students at SD 1 Gemiring Kidul, 29 students. The data collection technique in this study was a test. The prerequisite test used the normality test with the Kolmogrov Smirnov test assisted by SPSS version 23. The hypothesis testing used the paired-samples t-test. Meanwhile, to find out the increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts using the N-Gain test. The results showed that there were differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts, these results were proven by results of the t-test of two dependent samples, namely sig <0.05 or 0.00 <0.05. Then there is an increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of 0.5922 in the medium category. It was concluded that the use of Mat Joyo application had an effect on ability to understand mathematical concepts of fifth grade students at SD 1 Gemiring Kidul. Keywords: Mat Joyo Application, Understanding of Mathematics  Concepts

Abstract

AbstractThe need for teaching materials is crucial in supporting the learning process, particularly in online-based learning where digital-based teaching materials are highly necessary. Therefore, this research developed digital teaching materials about the concept of ecosystems in elementary schools. The purpose of this research was to develop teaching materials that meet validity criteria and receive positive feedback from students as users. The research method used was research and development. The data collection techniques used were literature review, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive data analysis through quantitative analysis of the questionnaire, then it was interpreted qualitatively to obtain the feasibility of digital teaching materials and describe students’ responses to the application of digital teaching materials. The results showed that the content validity was “very good”, while the presentation and language validity were in the “good” category. The media validity was categorized as “feasible”. In this case, the software element obtained a “very good” category, and the visual communication element obtained a “good” category. Furthermore, the average student response showed a positive reaction to digital-based teaching materials, with the appearance and presentation aspects rated as “strongly agree” and the benefit aspect rated as “agree”. Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of student learning concentration. The purpose of this research was to make efforts to improve learning concentration through differentiated instruction in content aspects. This class action research was conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis & Taggart model. The subjects of this study were 23 students in 4th grade (A class) at State Elementary School 94 Palembang. This research aimed to enhance the learning concentration among 4th grade students at SD Negeri 94 Palembang through differentiated instruction in aspect content. The data collection technique used Likert scale questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of the pre-cycle research revealed that the learning concentration was 43.47% (low). In the cycle I, the learning concentration increased to 69.56% (moderate), and it further increased to 86.95% (high) in the cycle II. These results indicate that differentiated instruction successfully improved the learning concentration of 4th grade students at SD Negeri 94 Palembang.

Abstract

The results of the teaching practice of 5th-grade participants at SDN 94 Palembang still needed improvement due to the teacher’s lecture and question-and-answer learning method. This research aims to improve the participants’ learning outcomes using the TGT training approach. The research adopts a class action research method in two cycles, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The success measurement of this research is a minimum of 75% of the students fulfilling the minimum completeness criteria of 75. The research results demonstrate that using the TGT approach can enhance the participants’ learning outcomes. It is apparent from the improvement in the participants’ learning outcomes throughout the research process. In the pre-cycle, only 38% of participants achieved completion with an average score of 63.75. In Cycle I, the number increased to 63% and an average score of 73.75. In Cycle II, the number further increased to 88% and an average score of 93.75.
