Abstract

Abstract. The increasing global population has spurred a greater need for agricultural products, particularly mushrooms, which are valued for their exceptional nutritional content and rapid growth rates. To optimize mushroom cultivation, it's vital to monitor environmental factors like temperature and humidity for ideal growth conditions. This study introduces an Internet of Things (IoT)-based mobile app for ongoing monitoring of temperature and humidity within mushroom cultivation structures, using sensor, microcontroller, LCD display, and mobile apps. The setup involves strategic placement of system components to efficiently gather data. The mobile app boasts a user-friendly interface for easy navigation and access to critical insights. The assessment of data transmission gives efficient information flow, less than 2% missclicks and 96% effectivity score, with minimal delays. Notably, the mobile app's features exhibit high accuracy and efficacy in delivering real-time updates on cultivation conditions. Furthermore, a survey using a Likert scale garnered positive user feedback, affirming the app's potential value in mushroom farming. This innovative system holds promise in elevating sustainability and profitability in the mushroom cultivation sector.  Keywords:  IoT, Monitoring system, Mushroom cultivation, Mobile application

Abstract

Since 2020, when the coronavirus epidemic was at its peak, the Indonesian Ministry of Health's social media accounts have been constantly followed by a big number of individuals. The Indonesian Ministry of Health account is a fantastic resource for social media users, particularly Twitter users. The Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Health's Twitter account publishes a wide range of content at random. As a result, it is usually difficult for Twitter users to determine the type of information provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.  The positive and negative responses of Twitter users to material released by the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Twitter account are frequently noted.  The decision tree algorithm is tree-based, similar to the extreme gradient boosting method (XGBoost). The extreme gradient boosting approach has been successfully implemented with high performance in the classification process. This classification is separated into two primary categories: general and essential information categorization and sentiment analysis, which is classified into three classes: positive, neutral, and negative. Both the classification work and the sentiment analysis produced outstanding accuracy levels. Based on 2243 tweets, an accuracy rate of 89.35% has been achieved for classification, supported by a precision of 88.76% and a recall value of 88.58% when using 80 data training and 20 data testing.  Similarly, the maximum accuracy in sentiment analysis was achieved utilizing the same 80-20 data partitioning, with a 91.22% accuracy rate. Using 304 comments data, accuracy was calculated to be 89.17% and recall was calculated to be 89.06%.  It's worth noting that an 80-20 split for training and testing consistently produced the best results for both the sentiment analysis and classification tasks.

Abstract

Abstract. Purpose: analyzing how fear of Covid-19 influences technology utilization attitude towards intention to use. Design/methodology/approach: This study used a quantitative approach conducted post Covid-19. Involving a sample of 138 mobile application users for health insurance services in Bali, Indonesia, by utilizing the PLS-SEM model analysis tool. Findings: Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), through its two elements, Perceived usefulness (PU) and Perceived ease of use (PEOU), has proven to significantly form a supportive attitude about the use of information technology in the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the influence of attitudes towards behavior intention to use (BIU) in the use of technology has also been proven clearly in the context of TAM. But TAM's ability to form intention directly can only be confirmed through PU, while PEOU has not been able to be proven. Fear of Covid-19 has not been shown to play a role in moderating the influence of attitude on intention. Practical/implications: Encouraging attitude is very important to use technology based on usability and ease of using technology. However, it is not feasible to consider fear of Covid-19 as a factor to encourage people's attitudes towards technology to promote intention to use application technology for transactions. Originality/value: This study provides new insights, first to collaborate on fear of Covid on TAM and TRA. Examining the impact of Covid-19 fear moderation on the acceptance of mobile applications in the health insurance service industry and providing important information that people's behavior does not consider the dangers of Covid-19 when adopting information technology services in the future. Keywords: Technology acceptance model, perceived usefulness, perceive ease of use, attitude toward using, fear of Covid-19

Abstract

In today's digitalization era, promoting products using social media has become the primary strategy to accelerate business growth, especially promotion. With the emergence of various short video-based social media platforms, information can rapidly spread through a solid and short video duration. For many content creators, a short video can call crowds faster than other types of data transmissions, such as text, pictures, or traditional video. Millions of views can be gained in a matter of days. The video that gains high exposure is not always because of the celebrity or famous person; it is more of the quality of the content itself. One of the most popular themes is related to culinary products. Bandung, recognized as a city of culinary in Indonesia, has many content creators that create food promotional videos. Some of them have millions of followers that advocate for their followers to try and purchase the food. This phenomenon raises questions to be revealed, becoming the background for this research. This study aimed to determine the variables causing interest in purchasing culinary products in Bandung through Short Video-Based Social Media. Thus, this study contributes to theory development, business practice, and digital marketing through short videos posted on various social media platforms. The method used in this research is deductive exploratory research as a methodological approach that investigates the micro-conceptual framework of working hypotheses that have not been studied in-depth with qualitative data collection techniques using data collection techniques with in-depth interviews (IDI) and focus group discussions (FGD). Online to specific individuals and groups. As a result, seven of eight factors are considered to independently influence intention to purchase culinary products towards SVBSM by the respondents: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, consumer personality characteristics, retail, commercial images, product features, attractiveness, and trustworthiness.

Abstract

Abstract. Digital financial literacy is an important factor in a person's economic behavior. A person who has a high level of digital literacy will use financial services to obtain the maximum benefit from the financial services used. In payment behavior, a person with a high level of literacy will use the payment system that provides the most financial benefits. However, there are various literatures that provide varying results regarding the impact of digital financial literacy on payment system usage. Therefore, in this study, we empirically examine the impact of digital financial literacy on the use of payment systems, especially cashless at the provincial level in Indonesia. We use 136 observations per province year for the period 2019 - 2022 to test our empirical model covering 34 provinces. We find that overall, digital financial literacy has no effect on the use of non-cash payment systems.  Keywords: Financial literacy, digital, cashless, payment, financial literacy

Abstract

Abstract. This study identifies social network of medical device innovation during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. We employed the Social Network Analysis (SNA) from the collected data through semi-structured interview and document analysis. We focused on two case studies of therapeutic devices that have successfully been collaboratively developed and gained marketing license for Covid-19 treatment in Indonesia, i.e. Gerlip HFNC-01 and Covent-20. The study finds that heterogenous actors (university, public research institute, firm, government, society, non-government organization, users) share resources in each stage of the innovation process that demands distinct functions and resources from idea generation, product development, testing and implementation. The relations between actors happen by some means: joint project, resource sharing, and government direction. Key actors should be able to reach as many actors and bridge communication in order to develop network interdependence and to facilitate innovation. Eventually, the government plays a significant role to accelerate innovation through some fruitful policy packages. Abstract

Abstract. Choice-Based Conjoint (CBC) analysis experiment is conducted in this study to investigate perception equivalency of shareholder perks (SP) and dividend policy among Indonesian investors and to examine whether SP as a new alternative of payout policy can attract more individual investors in Indonesia. The results show that investors prefer SP over dividend in both 2 and 4 percent yield. However, the marginal utility of SP is decreasing to yield. This result suggests that individual investors prefer to receive SP rather than no dividends but they do not expect to receive an excessive number of SP when it is possible for the company to distribute a high amount of cash dividend. Furthermore, the results grouped by gender indicates that female respondents are prefer SP to dividend and have a higher economic value on SP than their male counterpart. Practically, by investing in an SP-paying stocks, individual investors are able to buy their favourite brands and products at lower prices which might be more beneficial than receiving a small amount of cash dividends. Meanwhile, for companies, the results imply that the distribution of SP can attract a number of individual investors, particularly women. Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted with the aim of determining the influence of relative advantage, organizational readiness, effort expectations and facilitating conditions on the implementation of accounting digitalization using a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. This research was obtained in the form of primary data using collection techniques through questionnaires with a total of 116 MSME respondents in the city of Surakarta. The research method used is quantitative with data analysis techniques, namely variant-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The data that has been collected is analyzed using SmartPLS 4. The results of this research find that expectations of efforts and facilitating conditions have a positive effect on the implementation of accounting digitalization, which means that accounting digitalization provides convenience and adequate facilities. Meanwhile, relative superiority and organizational readiness have a negative effect on the implementation of accounting digitalization, which means that MSME players feel that accounting digitalization does not provide adequate information for their business processes. The implication of the results of this research is to encourage the government to support the use of digital accounting among MSMEs by providing training in the form of socializing the use of new applications or technology to simplify the process of managing business finances. Abstract

Abstract. The e-commerce industry is considered a key driver of the digital economy in Indonesia. Therefore, the progress and sustainability of companies in the e-commerce industry, particularly in e-commerce retail, are of great importance. Fostering innovative behavior among employees in e-commerce retail companies is crucial. Hence, this research investigates the influence of high-performance work systems (HPWS) on innovative work behavior (IWB) in employees, and how psychological capital (PsyCap) and work engagement mediate this relationship. This study utilizes covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) to analyze direct and mediating effects on IWB. The research findings indicate that there is a simultaneous (t-value = 4.4) and separate mediating influence of PsyCap (t-value = 5.87) and Work Engagement (t-value = 3.67) on the relationship between HPWS and IWB. The direct impact of HPWS on IWB is also significant (t-value = 1.70). This study provides practical insights for management to cultivate innovative behavior among employees through recommended HPWS practices, and how individual factors may explain the effect of HPWS in cultivating IWB. Additionally, it offers an overview of the flow of influence from HPWS to IWB, which can provide further research opportunities in the IWB development field.  Keywords:  HPWS, IWB, PsyCap, Work Engagement, e-commerce

Abstract

Abstract. This study considers the correlation among the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Singapore /US dollar exchange rate, and the Singapore overnight rate average from 2012 to 2023 in Singapore. This small and open economy effectively manages its monetary policy to maintain a healthy inflation rate but has experienced high inflation rates and slow economic growth, raising questions about the effectiveness of the floating exchange rate system adopted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in recent years. This study employs unit root and cointegration tests, impulse response functions, and variance decomposition. According to the vector error correction model specification, the production function primarily facilitated short-term adjustments toward long-term equilibrium; however, these adjustments were gradual, and it took more than two years to respond to system shocks. Analyses of the impulse response functions and variance decomposition indicate that changes in the variables resulted in analogous behavior patterns, with notable effects that primarily differ in their response to shocks. The empirical evidence supports the view that inflation controls are more sensitive to interest rate adjustment in Singapore. The findings of the present research provide valuable insights and have numerous important implications for the macroeconomic evaluation of Singapore. The study acknowledges that economies are subject to unforeseen events like global crises or pandemics, which can impact exchange rates and inflation beyond the scope of policy measures, and these might not be fully captured in the study.
