The overall transportation process is a gripping activity for goats and sheep. Goats and sheep canexperience stress as reflected by indicators of weight loss, physiological responses and blood metabolites. The use of sheep goat and sheep conveyance according to the Regulation of the Minister of Agricultureof the Republic of Indonesia number 114/Permentan/PD.410/9/2014concerning the transportation ofsacrificial animals, vehicles can be designed for a maximum of two decks. Farmers use pick-up vehiclesarranged in three levels to reduce transportation costs. This study uses two triple-deck pick-up vehiclesfor 60 goats and 60 sheep. Each deck is filled with 20 animals and five animals are taken as samples. The design used by using a randomized block design (RBD), the position of the deck (deck 1, deck 2,deck 3) as a factor, and body weight as groups. The evaluation results of goat and sheep transportationwith a distance of ± 674 km (± 16 hours of travel) shows that deck has no significant effect (P>0.05) onthe weight loss of goat and sheep also did not affect (P>0.05) on the physiological response and bloodmetabolites. The stress level of goats and sheep transported is not affected by deck position.

Cihateup duck is one of the local Indonesian poultry from West Java. These ducks are raised inTasikmalaya and Garut. Cihateup duck has the potential to produce meat, but duck meat has beenconsidered to have off-odor. components off-odor formed when the fatty acids are oxidized. A studywith the aim to protect unsaturated fatty acids in local duck meat from oxidation using Pluchea indicaLess (beluntas) and Cosmos caudatus (kenikir) in feed as the source of natural antioxidants. The studyused was complete randomized design (RAL) with 7 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment wasPluchea indica Less or Cosmos caudatus powder with the duration of administration 1, 2 or 3 weeksbefore the age of harvest (10 weeks). Ducks used were 35 heads of Cihateup duck. Variables observedwere moisture content, fat content, Malondialdehyde (MDA), composition of fatty acid, and sensorycharacteristic of duck meat. The results showed that the effect of Pluchea indica Less or Cosmos caudatuswere not significant on moisture content and fat content. The effect of Pluchea indica Less or Cosmoscaudatus on MDA, composition of fatty acid, and and off-odor intensities of duck meat during cookingwas significantly different (P<0.05). It was concluded that this addition of Pluchea indica Less for 3 weeksor Cosmos caudatus for 2 weeks could lower off-odor on local duck meat.

Camara Nusantara ship was provided for livestock transportation especially cattle, to help increasingefficiency and decrease weight losses in the supply chain process. There were, however, such poor cattleperformance was still found on the arrival port, which was claimed as related to the poor managementand less competence of working personnel on board, one of those was kleder. This study was aimed atanalyzing the strategy for increasing Human Resource competency in the Camara Nusantara LivestockShip. Method used in this study was observations on target location, documentation, literature review, and depth interviews with target respondents in the respective locations, qualitative analysis approachwas applied for data analysis. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with five levels were used to analyzedata obtained from the study. The results indicate that the main strategies for increasing the competencyof human resource in the Camara Nusantara Livestock Ship was started with development of competencystandardization with a weight of 0.361. Development of competency standards for kleder is required toprovide a guidelines for improving kleder’s skills and knowledge in managing and handling livestockat Camara Nusantara Livestock Ship. It can be concluded that to optimize kleder competency who areworking at Camara Nusantara Cattle Ship may help to maintain cattle performance during the sea tolltransportation. Therefore, developing a national job competency standard, so called SKKNI (StandarKompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia) is needed as guidance to formulate relevant training programsfor human resource development.

Transportation plays important factor in broiler industry. Whole transportation process from loading tounloading can cause stress to broilers. The duration of the trip can affect oxidative stress, physiologicaland performance of broiler. This study aim to evaluate the effects of different transportation durationson oxidative stress, physiological responses and performance of broilers. Transportation from farm toslaughterhouse using a truck with a capacity of 144 crates. There were two durations treatment in this study,180 and 240 mins. Variables measured in this study were oxidative stress indicators (malondialdehyde/MDA content and catalase enzyme activity), physiological responses (rectal temperature and heterophilelymphocytes (HL) ratio), and performance represented by weight loss percentage. Normality test wasdone before T Test. Data analyzed using T Test independent which compared data between before andafter transportation. T Test dependent which compared data between short and long duration. The resultshowed that duration of transportation significantly affects on decrease liver and thigh catalase enzymeactivity, decrease malondialdehyde value on liver, decrease HL ratio after transportation, differenceson rectal temperature and weightloss. Long transportation duration resulted the lowest liver and thighcatalase enzymes activity (0.097±0.023 and 0.088±0.014 U/mL). It can be concluded that the long durationtransportation catalase enzyme activity reduce MDA value and affected performance indicator

Cattle was introduced in Papua a long time ago. However, it was unpredictable to adapt to raise cattle. An explorative field study was performed in fifteen villages using participatory research to betterunderstand the dynamics of cattle performances. Cattle farming system has been categorized in threetypes, i.e. small- and medium-sized systems. They used ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis to analyze data. Thefinding of this research was that the three sizes of cattle farming in many components of good farmingpractices were similar (p>0.05). No large gap was found along the lines of farmers, cattle, and economicperformance. West New Guinea’s Tropical Livestock Unit was low and has the potential to increase dueto agribusiness potential. Better government services and other related stakeholders should narrow thelack of good agricultural practices.

Chicken eggs are fairly high in nutritional content, especially in proteins. Usually, antibiotics are used indisease prevention and treatment program at the layer chicken farms. The use of antibiotics are still notaccording to the direction of use. Egg production is also susceptible to bacterial contamination. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the presence of kanamycin residue, the microbiological quality, and to evaluate potential risk factors associated with the microbiological quality of chicken eggs in theadministration city of East Jakarta. The samples were 100 eggs taken from 21 traditional markets and4 supermarkets in the administration city of East Jakarta. Kanamycin residue tested using bioassaymethod based on SNI 7424: 2008 and the microbiological quality method used based on SNI 3926: 2008.Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis univariate Chi-Square test to determine the effect ofpotential risk factors on the quality of microbiological quality and logistic regression models to analyzethe effect of potential risk factors without looking at the interaction of other factors. The results showedthat kanamycin residues were detected in 26.19% of eggs from traditional markets and 31.25% eggsfrom supermarkets in the administration city of East Jakarta. The median value of TPC, coliform andE.coli were 0.7 log cfu/g, 1.5 MPN/g, and 1.5 MPN/g, respectively, whilst Salmonella sp test was negative. It can be concluded that kanamycin residues still found in the markets and the microbiological qualitywere below the maximum contamination limit based on SNI 3926:2008 and egg cleanness was a riskfactor for coliform contamination.
