Abstract

Studies on the works of Quranic exegesis (kitāb al-tafsīr) as developed in literatures have been so far oriented to unveil technical aspects, methods, and characteristics of the works. Works by al-Farmāwī, Yunan Yusuf,Nasrudin Baidan, for example, share a common tendency in their approaches. Despite of the importance of such works, the current studies on the works of tafsīr are still lack of a comprehensive methodology that enables us to figure out epistimelogical and socio-cultural landscapes of a certain work on tafsir. Using a critical discourse analysis and epistemé of journalistic writing model as the basis, this paper attempts to develop a new paradigmatic construction by which any interests, discourses, ideologies and oppositional spirits against sociopolitical facts in tafsīr works are revealed. Keywords: Tafsir, Analisis Wacana Kritis, Teks Kultural

Abstract

This article describes al-Ghazālī’s thoughts about Sufism which became a synthesis of philosophical considered extreme tasawwuf and literal and rigid Islamic jurisprudence. This paper argued that Al-Ghazālī attempted to mediate the situation of religion among Muslims who messed up because of tasawuf deviating from the principal teachings of Islam and Islamic jurisprudence and being used by the authorities as a measure to punish the Sufis categorically without considering the truth of their teachings. In his Iḥyā ‘Ulūmudīn, al-Ghazālī leans to his biggest thoughts about Sunni’s Sufism. It teaches theology such as tawḥīd, makhāfah, maḥabbah and ma’rifah, from which the concepts of tawbah, ṣabr, tawakkal, zuḥūd and riḍa came from. This article found that al-Ghazālī’s sufism is closer to practical tasawuf , which is built upon the Qur’ān and the Ḥadīth. al-Ghazālī also wrote his personal experience in his masterpiece. Keywords: Tasawuf, Islamic Jurisprudence, al-Ghazālī

Abstract

Aceh, which has had the privilege of implementing sharia law in its territory, has faced a major challenge for accusations of "radicalism and extremism" from nationalists and Islamophobic groups who do not like the implementation of sharia law. It is as if by implementing sharia law in their territory the Acehnese are far from moderate Islam and cannot accept differences. However, this research proves that this is not true. Aceh is ideologically still dominated by moderate Islamic thought, as evidenced by PTKIN Aceh consistently promoting and disseminating moderate Islamic thought in the campus environment and the community in its area, with the continued increase in the number of religious moderation houses on PTKIN campuses, whose benefits are not only for the community. not only for academics but also for the surrounding community.

Abstract

Abstract

Through tourism, especially cultural tourism, cultural dynamics turmoil also occurs in tourist destinations. This is because there is an inevitable tug-of-war between culture on the one hand and tourism on the other hand. Cultural traditions represent the expression of tradition and tourism represents modernity (economy). In general, cultural traditions have a tendency to preserve and tourism as the industry wants to maximize its business activities for profit. This research is more focused on the study of cultural practices which a focus on the discussion of Roland Barthes’s semiotics on the traditional art of jaranan. The results of this study can be concluded that Barthes’s semiotic analysis of the commodification of culture in jaranan art experiences a variety of forms and dance offerings that be conceptualized as profit-making. Abstract

Angelika Neuwirth is a typical Western scientist who contributed to the reviews of the Qur’an through a literary approach. Neuwirth builds her analysis on letters as a whole. In a further development, Neuwirth suggested the use of letters not only in literary approaches, but also in historical ones. For her, a letter is a small unit that stores a communication process from birth; it is also an integral unit that the editor guarantees as a literary text. She understands the Qur’an as a living scripture that reacts to other traditions during its emergence. With the study of intertextuality, the Bible’s influence on the Qur’an is not considered a plagiarism, rather a uniqueness and effectiveness of the Qur’anic messages. Keywords: Studi al-Qur’an, Intertekstualitas, Literatur.
