Abstract

The use of social media, especially Twitter during the presidential election campaign in 2014 led to the construction of the presidential candidates can not only be found in the mass media, but also can be found in the content chirp twitter account supporters. This study aims to identify and find out how the two presidential candidates figure (Prabowoand Jokowi) when constructed through chirp Twitter account their respective supporters. By using qualitative methods, this research observation and analysis of the chirp twitter supporters of the two presidential candidates were uploaded during the presidential election campaign (June 4 until June 5, 2014) takes place. The results showed that Prabowo is constructed by supporters twitter account as a highly intelligent, resolute and strong. While Jokowi constructed by supporters as a populist figure, simple and honest.

Abstract

Spatialization is a part of the political economy. Media realize theta it is the process of  overcoming the constraints of space and time through its two forms of renewal of corporate power, that is horizontal and vertical concentration. The growth of media is becoming the trend of economy and politic in the media industry and expanding the corporae ownership. By having a literatures study used, the writer found that mass media development nowdays is not only the company's abilities to provide and satisfy the information and entertainment needs which match the society needs, however it also developes the other business interest s orientations.

Abstract

The indigenous community of Kasepuhan Banten Kidul is society entity that still maintains the past Sundanese traditions strictly, but is quite open and adaptive to the development of the age. The condition is reflected in their accommodative attitude towards all social changes that occur due to modernization. However, this condition does not make them lose their cultural identity as kasepuhan community. In the social interaction, the cultural identity is always inherent in them, both in the way of acting or reacting, and symbolized through the clothes and accessories worn. This condition can not be separated from the existence of indigenous institutions that have central role in upholding indigenous rules, so that all members of kasepuhan community have so strong ties to their cultural identity. Therefore, although in always changing social situation, they are able to adapt and even adopt the changes by not losing their cultural identity.

Abstract

As a writer (blogger) would be exist with as a member of a virtual community, because it will add who can access his writings. The purpose of this paper is, to know the role of virtual community in the existence of bloggers and how it can improve the productivity of writings. This study used emak2blogger.com website as study material. The method used is descriptive qualitative with interview informans to describe the virtual community Kumpulan Emak Blogger (KEB) and also content analysis. The results showed that there is better existence as a blogger for KEB members, since the blogger has a place that is able to express their creativity. By joining the KEB knowledge and ability of writing in a blog be increased, and also the increased blog traffic. Group communication contained in community KEB, in addition, interpersonal communication was used by members of KEB to communicate intensively.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know critical discourse analysis of the news about the death of taruna STIP that Tempo.co has been published. This research notice all of the aspects such as microstructure, meso-structure, and macrostructure. This research uses a news from Tempo.co with title Taruna STIP Tewas Dihajar Senior, Ini Kronologinya, online published in January 11th 2017. This research uses Norman Fairclough s critical discourse analysis model. Qualitative method has been used as basic thinking and critical paradigm as research standpoint. The result shows that Tempo.co does an election diction; use of the causation phrase; and selecting resource in direct quotation. Realization of the result rates in line with the Tempo.co s company mission. Which is to create an independent multimedia product that free from any pressure. There was a motivation in news produced which lead the reader to give a positive sight for Tempo.co.

Abstract

Central Java BKKBN (Badan Koordinasi Keluarga Berencana Nasional) main objectives is to facilitate government policy in population control. To achieve this objective, BKKBN should treat man and woman in a same respectful way because both have the same contribution to population control. Unfortunately some of their Public Service Announcement (PSA) did not show this emancipation. One of their PSA show only a young woman with her baby, delivering a subtle message that young woman is responsible for early marriage. By using Fairclough s Discourse Analysis, we found that BKKBN Central Java unconsciously construct a discourse through their PSA that young woman not only become the most unbenefited side in the early marriage, but also the most responsible for the marriage.

Abstract

Media and Information Literacy (MIL)  skills was  one of the skills that must be possessed by netizens. These skills become important in the effort of coping with the negative impact of the internet. The high penetration of the internet is not followed by the high skill of MIL. Therefore, the writers are interested to know the skills of information and media literacy (access skills) in mothers. This study uses descriptive quantitative method by using questionnaires as means of data collection. The result of the study shows that mothers tend to have moderate-level information access skills. The skills are reflected in the skills of mothers at moderate level in understanding the role of information, seeking sources of information, accessing information effectively and efficiently, and storing information.

Abstract

Local  Public  Broadcasting  radio  is  broadcasting  reform  that  seeks  to  restore  the  sovereignty of the people as the owners of the frequencies through Act No. 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting.   Government Regulation  No. 11/2005 create the space   to  Local Government Radio Broadcasting can adjust to the regulations on LPPL Radio. However, up to ten years since the birth of the Broadcasting Act, the presence of LPPL Radio presence in Central Java has not been fully able to show a real role. This study used a qualitative approach through bencmarking studies between LPPL radio with the Broadcasting Licence and the Broadcasting Operation Principle Permit, which is Radio Swara Kendal FM; Radio Kota Batik, Pekalongan; Radio Singosari, Brebes; In FM Radio, Kebumen; Irama FM Radio, Purworejo and LPP RRI Semarang. The result of this research is the Local Public Broadcasting Radio development model accordance with applicable regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the expectations of each ethnic group in maintaining the issue of inter-ethnic life harmony in the Province of West Kalimantan, especially in Pontianak City which consists of the majority of the ethnics of Dayak, Malay, and Tionghoa. Multi-ethnic life in Pontianak City often creates various conflicts. This study is a qualitative research using descriptive qualitative method. In this study, the reseachers linked several theories of intercultural communication and identified the communication barriers such as Stereotype, Ethnocentrism, etc. This study found that inter-ethnic conflicts can arise due to the absence of opened mind in facing the differences, the lack of mutual tolerance and mutual respect among ethnic groups. In addition, communication barriers also become one of the factors of the arise of such inter-ethnic conflict.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the digital era is not only brings difference for people residing in urban areas, but also in rural areas that do not have adequate access in terms of resources. As one example is a village in the province of Lombok named Karang Bajo. Karang Bajo village apply it s government with the use of technology and new media, in other words Karang Bajo Village has introduced a system of E-Government. This is in line with the concept mediatization which can be interpreted as the most important concepts to understand the importance of the media on culture and society. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach and case study method. The results from this research is E-Government applied in Karang Bajo village is still in the billboards stage with primaly puspose because constitution UU No. 6 (2014). The presence of E-Government didn t bring any changes in society s social interaction.
