Abstract

Abstract The ways to achieve desired quality result in educational organization that mostly inspired from the business organizations was no doubt anymore. How the view was appropriate in the implementation of a Suggestion System was the focus of our study. The study aimed to (i) comprehend reasoning the system was adopted, (ii) to draw up how the system was implemented, and (iii) to present potential areas affected by a system. The study was conducted at the Global Andalan and Taruna Andalan School in Pelalawan Riau Indonesia. The school was owned by famous company in Riau, namely Pulp and Paper Company in Riau (PT RAPP), and was managed under the Foundation of Kerinci Citra Kasih. To collect the data, we designed questionnaires, documentation analysis and interviewed both teachers and school managements involved in the Suggestion System. We found that the reason the system was adopted was due to empower employees, including teachers, yet improve quality service. The system was implemented on the basis of four major steps: Encouraging People to participate, Motivate employee to write proposals, Review evaluate and guidance, and Awards. We also found other potential improvement by the system implementation on employee empowerment.Keywords: Education, School, Continuous improvement, Suggestion system, Employee empowerment

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine how high the organization of schools and the integration of the internet in schools. Is there a significant relationship between the two variables? How large is the contribution of the level of organization of the school to the level of integration of the internet in school? Are there differences in the organization of schools and school integration based on school ege. The study used a survey method. The respondents of this study of 75 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed by researchers based on their own research construct. Beforethe questionnaire used, analysis ofthe validity and reliability. Based on descriptive analysis shows that the level oforganization ofthe school and the level of integration of the internetin schools at the high category. Based on the analysis of "Product Moment" that there isa significant relationship between the level of organization of the school-level integration of the internet in schools 0.86%, while the contribution rate to the level of organization of school integration of the internetin school was 74.5%. Means, the restis determined by other variables. MANOVA test showed that here was nosignificant difference level of organization and the level of integration of the schools in the school internet based school age.Key word: organization, integration, internet

Abstract

Abstract The objective of mathematical studies is basically for the students to be able to utilize or apply math that they learned in everyday life and in learning other subjects. The results of student’s math learning could be observed from their ability to solve math problems consisting of equation and narrative problems. Narrative problems are questions which are presented in a story-like manner and have relations with the situation that the students face in everyday life. Mathematics is one of the least favored subject and the student’s mastery over the subject are quite lacking, also the difficulty of students to solve such narrative problems. As such, there is a need to exercise this research to increase the students’ capability in solving narrative problems. This research aims to discover (1) Toobserve the SSCS learning implementation model by mathematic teachers in class. (2) To discover the effect of SSCS learning model towards the ability to solve mathematical narrative problems to VIII grade students of National Middle School 14 Pekanbaru academic years 2014/2015. The research design that was used is Quasi Experimental. The experiment design that is going to be used in this research is The One Group Pretest-posttest Design which includes Quasi Experimental Design Without Control Group with the sample of 28 students of the VIII grade National Middle School 14 Pekanbaru. Data collection is done through observation and learning test results.The result of this research shows that (1) The SSCS Learning Implementation Model in National Middle School 14 Pekanbaru had been done according to the Learning Implementation Plan. (2) There is a significant influence from the SSCS learning model towards the students’ capability in solving narrative problems, in which this case could be seen from the average score after treatment is better than before. Meanwhile, the behavior and skills of the students have not all reached the required Mastery Minimum Criteria. There are still 5 more students that have not yet reached the Mastery Minimum Criteria in terms of behavior and 6 more in terms of skills.Key words: Influence, Narrative Problem, SSCS Learning, Capability, Solve

Abstract

Abstract Scientific approach in science teaching became a major issue in science education in this country. In order for students to succeed in their scientific research, attitude and scientific skills are two important things you must have. These two important elements are rarely getattention in our science education. Thus, the researchers felt the need to find the effective ways to build both the scientific element for students. An effort in that direction is to build instruments to measure attitudes and scientific skills. In this paper, wewould like to explain the development of instruments that we have done. This instrument will be used to measure the scientific attitude of students of junior high school. Instruments were developed based on eight constructs: curiosity, respect for evidence, willingness to change ideas, critical reflection, suspended judgment, objective, rational and humility. There is a 31 item questionnaire has been declared valid through expert validation and empirical tests. The data of empirical test were analyzed using the Pearson product moment correlation. Reliability testing questionnaires of scientific attitude found Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.677, which shows that the ability of items of the instrument measures the concepts in the study were considered satisfactory.Keywords: scientific method, scientific attitudequestionnaire, sciencelearning, validity and reliability of instruments

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini berangkat dari upaya membangun ketertarikan dan apresiasi siswa terhadap pelajaran matematika, sebagai bentuk implementasi dari Kurikulum 2013. Dengan terbangunnya kedua hal tersebut akan memudah guru memfasilitasi siswa dalam belajar matematika. Salah satu pendekatan dalam pembelajaran yang dipandang memberikan kontribusi terhadap kedua aspek afektif di atas adalah pendekatan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik (PMR).Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Kandis, dengan sampel sebanyak 119 orang. Permasalahan penelitian yang dikaji adalah: (1) Bagaimana deskripsi Disposisi Matematika (DM) siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan PMR dan PK; (2). apakah terdapat perbedaan DM siswa antara yang dibelajarkan dengan pendekatan PMR dengan PK diitinjau dari keseluruhan siswa dan setiap level KAM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) secara umum DM siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan PMR lebih baik dibandingkan dengan PK; (2) terdapat perbedaan DM yang signifikan antara siswa yang dibelajarkan melalui PMR dengan PK; (3) berdasarkan level KAM, tidak terdapat perbedaan DM siswa pada level rendah dan tinggi.Kata Kunci : Disposisi Matematis, PMR

Abstract

AbstrakPelan pembanguan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM) 2013-2025 telah melakarkan visi sistem pendidikan dan aspirasi murid yang dapat memenuhi keperluan negara pada masa depan. Kemerosotan pencapaian Malaysia dalam penilaian antarabangsa adalah disebabkan kurang kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT) dalam menjawab soalan yang berkaitan Sains dan Matematik. Guru sebagai pelaksana dasar harus mempunyai pengetahuan dan kemahiran dalam mengimplimen dasar yang telah dirancang. Kajian ini bertujuan melihat persepsi dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru sains melaksanakan (KBAT)dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Kajian kualitatif menggunakan temu bual berstruktur telah dijalankan dengan 10 orang guru sains daripada beberapa sekolah kebangsaan di Selangor.Responden terdiri daripada guru muda dan guru berpengalaman serta guru di bandar dan guru di luar bandar.Hasil kajian mendapati majoriti responden berpendapat bahawa KBAT adalah soalan yang membolehkan murid berkifir secara kritis dan kreatif.Terdapat juga responden menyatakan bahawa KBAT adalah soalan yang memerlukan aplikasi dan analisis.KBAT dilaksanakan oleh guru dengan mengemukakan soalan yang memerlukan murid untuk berfikir.Masalah utama yang dihadapi adalah kekangan masa kerana guru terpaska mengejar sukatan.Masalah pelajar yang pasif dan suka mendiamkan diri juga menyebabkan kekangan dalam melaksanakan KBAT.Pelbagai program dan pendedahan harus diberikan kepada guru agar mereka boleh melaksanakan KBAT dengan lebih efektif lagi.Kata Kunci : Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT), pengajaran dan pembelajaran, sains

Abstract

Abstract PMkuModule main aim is to help students develop their skill to solve linear mathematical questions other than develop their mathematical thinking through the 4 levels in META-4 strategy, model polya and Bar model technique. This quasi experimental was designed to determine the effectiveness of PMku strategy in solving the linear mathematical question and to determine the level of PMku strategy usage in classroom among a group of students. 85 form two students as the experiment group (n=43) was administered using PMku model,while the controlled variable (n=42) was conventionally administered. In the first data collection,the pre-test was administered before carry out the intervention. After 7 weeks of intervention, the post-test was carried out to see the comparison between this strategy with conventional teaching. The questionnaire for the effectiveness of PMku model application and students assessments towards PMku also used in order to get the evidence. ANCOVA analysiskawalan(F(1, 82) = 44.5, p< .05, R-squared = 0.532) indicated that the teachig methods using PMku module enhanced students’ performance in mathematic problem solving mathematical word learning as compared to the conventional teaching method. Overall, this research implication shows that the use of PMku is able to fix students level in solving the linear mathematical question and give them the positive perception practicallyKeywords :Approach PMku mathematical word problem solving, achievement in mathematics, quasi experimental.

Abstract

Abstract Aspirations Education Development Plan 2013-2025 in sub element of equity targeting students for academic excellence as a goal to be expected. To achieve these aspirations, the role of teachers and pupils are given special attention. In addition, the rate of dependence on employment is expected to be reduced by injecting the interest of students to become entrepreneurs after school. The Ministry of Education has initiated this effort by integrating elements of entrepreneurship in each subject. Accordingly, this study aimed to identify the relationship between teachers and teaching styles and learning styles of pupils in order to raise the academic achievement of pupils and students participating graduates. The study found that all elements of their teaching in teaching style model Grasha (1996) and learning styles in fact a students learning style inventory Selmes (1987) are discussed. Furthermore, the Career Development Model Holland (1974) analyzed to identify interests participating graduates after school will also be discussed. Some implications and recommendations were given them, teachers need to identify students learning style before applying the teaching force. Compatibility between teaching and learning styles will impact on the academic achievement and career interests of students.Keywords: Grasha teaching styles, Selmes learning styles, Holland development career, interest in entrepreneurship

Abstract

Abstract Development research has been done to produce learning media based Chemo-edutainment to learning nomenclature of chemical compounds and to know the quality of learning media that is developed. Media cards that are developed adopting the game of dominoes card.Consists of 28 pieces of cards peer packaged. Each card is divided into two parts, that are the part that was written the name of the compound and the part that was written chemical formula. So in a card package contains 28 names of compounds and 28 chemical formula that are accordance with the rules oft he IUPA Cnomenclature.To using that the name of the compound and the chemical formula matched as the suitability of mate cards. Expected this learning media that is developed will be able to improve student learning activities, and will impact on learning outcome. Based on assessment from 2 validator by 3 assessment that are format, content and technical. The average result is 4.40 with a decent categories used. As a follow up will be applied by classroom action research to look at the impact of media cards that have been developed for the activity and student learning outcome.Keywords :learning media, Chemo-edutainment , chemical formula

Abstract

AbstractThis research is an experimental study conducted to determine the effect oftheimplementation ofcooperative learning model structural approach Number HeadTogether (NHT) format hematics learning outcomes of students. The designof thisresearch was aquasi experimental. The population inthis research were class VIISMPN 13 Pekanbaru. With purposive sampling technique was taken two classes ofthe population VII.5 class (class conventional) and VII.7 (experimental class)toserve as the research sample. Based on theresults oftests of homogeneity of thefinal data obtained and the valuesobtained So it canbe said that the two groups ofsamples have the same variance (homogeneous). Mean while, based onthe resultsofthe t-test values obtained rightside and = 1.67withvalue dk= 69 and , to obtain thenrejected, or it canbe said that the mathematic learning outcomes of students inexperimental classe sare better thanthe control class. Further, the calculationresult of the influence coefficients (Kp) was Kp=4.3%In other words, it can beconcluded that the effect ofthe application of cooperative learning modelNumber Head Together (NHT) structural approach to improving student learningoutcomes was 4.3%.Key Word : Effect, NHT, mathematic learning outcomes
