Abstract

Penguatan kelembagaan di Industri pertaniaan diharapkan akan mampu memberikan andil bagi peningkatan pertumbuhan dan pemerataan ekonomi, bila didukungan oleh pemerintah, BULOG dan KUD. Penguatan kelembagaan BULOG (Badan Urusan Logistik) yang bertugas sebagai pengendali harga dengan mengoptimalkan perannya sebagai penampung hasil pertanian terutama padi dan KUD (Koperasi Unit desa) sebagai penyalur sarana pertanian bagi petani. Pemerintah berperan sebagai supporting system dalam mendukung penuh kedua lembaga tersebut dengan adanya kebijakan (regulasi) dan pendanaan. Dukungan dari ke tiga elemen tersebut diharapkan mampu menciptakan pertumbuhan dan pemerataan ekonomi di Indonesia. Industri pertanian akan semakin maju dengan adanya potensi pendapatan yang meningkat. Investasi akan dengan sendirinya tercipta dan sumber daya akan dapat diserap untuk kegiatan industri pertanian. Trickle Down Effect dan Multiplier Effect akan tercipta karena angkatan kerja akan terserap dalam sector pertanian sehingga angka kemiskinan di sector pertanian akan berkurang. Import beras hanya melukai kerja keras para petani maka seharusnya pemerintah memberikan akses yang maksimal bagi petani sehingga kedepan Indonesia mampu mejaga ketahanan pangan tanpa bergantung dari import.

Abstract

Bank of Shariah face risk of financing consisted of risk of financing Based on Natural CertaintyContracts and Natural Uncertainty Contracts. Unrighteous bank of Shariah have to own system ofobservation and management of taft risk. With this system, bank of Shariah law can detect and avoidthe happening of mismanagement and also failure of system and procedure [of] [at] Islamic bankingsystem, expected will minimize Non-Performing Financing (NPF) so that improve performance offinance of bank of Shariah and in the end improve competitive advantage of Shariah banking inIndonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze bank efficiency listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and to empirically determine the effect of bank efficiency listed in BEI toward stock performance reflected in stock returns. The sampling is bank listed in IDX from 2004 until 2008. DEA is used to measure the bank efficiency from each Decision Making Units  (DMUs),which is obtained as the maximum weight ratio of outputs and inputs. The result of banks efficiency using DEA approach indicated that most of Bank in Indonesia is efficient. Only 6 banks from 16 banks which have not yet reached the efficiency score over the 5 years. Meanwhile, the regression test did not revealed any effect of the bank efficiency in Indonesia toward stock return.

Abstract

Consumerism has become an important issue in consumer behavior. Consumerism known as asocial movement to strengthen the rights and powers of buyers in relation to sellers. There are threeinstitutions which have major role in consumerism, they are consumer organization, government andcompany. Consumer organization gives information and advocacy to consumer. Government have aresponsible in the regulation and legislation of consumer rights. Finally, company have their own role toenforce self regulation about consumerism. Consumerism has developed into green consumerism. It means that consumer emphazises theirattention in the environment issue. Consumerism has a major implication to the marketingmanagement in a company. One of them is more attention in producing safe product by the company.Developed country implements consumerism in day to day company strategies while developing countriesconsider this as a new emerging issue.

Abstract

Since 2011 hotel industry in Solo Raya has very significant demand and supply imbalance in the fields of room occupancy rate, human resources and finance. So, this research is intended to find strategies to manage the supply and demand imbalance along with long term solutions to overcome these conditions. This process evaluation study is presented to evaluate the implementation of ongoing programs and policies in order to improve their qualities and to asses if they are successfull or failed (Edison, 2009). Several methods of data collection are documentation, observation and field notes and interviews with questionnaire. Subjects of research are whole members of Indonesia Hotel Restaurant Association (PHRI) Surakarta which are classified as star and nonstar hotels, local government officers and tourism service providers. The research findings show that: (1) to increase the room occupancy rate is by increasing the number of guests through promoting special packages offering customized solutions, instead of reducing the number of existing hotels; (2) during low seasons, optimize in-house trainings to improve human resources with expected competencies, entrepreneur souls and risk-taking; and (3) implement a comprehensive efficiency program to maintain healthy financial companies. The research findings imply the needs of political will from government which supports tourism sector to create ‘some sugar’(tourist attractions) in Solo Raya that will be consumed by ‘ants’ (tourists).

Abstract

There are two main issues in organizational ambidexterity.  Firstly, structure-based organizational ambidexterity argued that the tension between exploration and exploitation can reconcile by creating the separated organizational structure for different activity.  Secondly, contextual-based organizational ambidexterity stressed the influence of organizational context to create behavior for balancing exploration and exploitation activities.  This article argue that he structural dimension and organizational behavior will produce micro foundation which is the interaction between both dimension will produce exploration and exploitation processes as organizational outcome.

Abstract

This study aims to investigates the differences between the first, second, and third generation in managing the family firms as reflected by their financial structure and performance. All family firms listed IDX were used as the sample. There are 51 family firms, henceforth, classified as the first, second, and third generation of family business. One-Way ANOVA was performed to test the differences of short-term debt, long-term debt, retained earnings, family ownership, and performance (ROA) among family firms managed by the first, second, and third generation.The results of this study revealed that there are significant differences in term of short-term debt, long-term debt, retained earnings, and performance among family firms that managed by the first, second, and third generation. However, there’s no significant differences were found in term of family ownership among family firms managed by the first, second, and third generation. The differences of short-term debt and long-term debt shows decreased pattern. Whereas the differences of retained earnings, family ownership, and performance shows increase pattern. This findings are consistent with the pecking order theory in the firm’s life stage.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know and analyze : Indication of earning management in financial statement of Bank Syariah Mandiri and Bank Muamalat Indonesia. Researcher uses total accruals from Healy (Arfani and Sasongko, 2005). The resulf of this research is positive of total accruals for four years and negative for one year. It means that there are earning management in financial statement of Bank Syariah Mandiri and Bank Muamalat Indonesia for four years.

Abstract

Quality and customers are two important factors for every organization. Good quality is usuallyfollowed by customers’ loyality. Therefore, organization should enhance their quality improvement. Thisresearch is aimed at investigating internal customers’ satisfaction in education services. Two faculties inMuhammadiyah University of Surakarta are chosen as sample, i.e. Economics Faculty and PsychologyFaculty. The result shows that most of internal customers of the two faculties are less satisfied than it isshould be.

Abstract

This study aims to identify (1) the cultural characteristics of the Muslim batik entrepreneurs in the Batik Industry in Surakarta. (2) the values that underlie the cultural organization of Muslim batik entrepreneurs in the Laweyan Batik Industry, Surakarta. The research locations were Mahkota Batik, Putra Laweyan Batik, Gres Tenan Batik, Puspa Kencana Batik and Merak Manis Batik. This type of research uses descriptive-qualitative methods. The results of the study conclude the cultural characteristics of Muslim batik entrepreneurs organizations, as follows: (1) culture of struggle (al Mujahadah), (2) culture of togetherness (al Ijtimaiyyah), (3) culture of mutual help (at Tawauniyyah), (4) culture of humanity (al Insanniyyah), (5) professional culture (al Ihtirofiyyah), (6) creative and innovative culture (al kholaq wal mubtakar), (7) thoroughness culture (as shihah), and (8) skill culture (al khibrah).
