MIQOT: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Keislaman is a peer reviewed academic journal, established in 1976 as part of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan (see: video), dedicated to the publication of scholarly articles in various branches of Islamic Studies, by which exchanges of ideas as research findings and contemporary issues are facilitated. MIQOT is accredited as an academic journal by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia (SK Dirjen Dikti No. 040/P/2014) valid through February 2019. Abstract

Abstract: Integration of ICT in Islamic Education: An Alternative Approach of Future Learning The importance of the use of information and telecommunication technology in Islamic education is undeniable. The merit of the use of such kind of technology not only because it provides great number of up-to-date collection of information but more importantly this also makes it more accessible, faster and economical. The author traces the historical root of information and communication process in Islam and compares it to the emerging E-education in the last decades. It is argued that E-education will provide more room for optimum use of virtually equipped education facilities which is developing faster than ever predicted. The challenge for the future is that the integration of information and communication technology in Islamic education is not something to be avoided but rather an alternative learning approach which becomes a necessity in the competing professional educators.Kata Kunci: ICT, E-Learning, Virtual, Multimedia, PAIKEM, Consctructivism

Abstract

Abstrak: Permasalahan Tentara Anak dalam Perspektif Islam. Konflik bersenjata di berbagai belahan dunia telah mengakibatkan sejumlah anak di bawah umur terlibat sebagai tentara. Sebagian mereka direkrut secara sukarela, sebagian lain secara paksa oleh kelompok-kelompok bersenjata. Keadaan ini memaksa anakanak tersebut melakukan berbagai aktivitas yang bukan saja sangat berbahaya, tetapi juga bertentangan dengan sifat dasar mereka sebagai anak-anak yang sedang berkembang. Tulisan ini menganalisis persoalan tersebut dari perspektif Islam, khususnya dalam kaitannya dengan bagaimana konsep jihad dimaknai dan dipraktikkan. Kata Kunci: jihad, perang, tentara anak

Abstract

Abstrak:  Keberhasilan dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab sangat dipengaruhi oleh metode pengajaran yang digunakan, semakin sistematis metodenya maka akan menghasilkan penguasaan bahasa secara sempurna. Kesempurnaan penguasaan suatu bahasa dapat diukur dari penguasaan empat kemahiran (kompetensi) yang merupakan satu paket yang mempunyai kaitan antara satu dengan yang lainnya. Oleh karena itu keberhasilan pengajaran suatu bahasa tidak terlepas dari kemampuan dosen bahasa itu sendiri untuk menghidupkan keempat maharah tersebut. Dalam tulisan ini akan difokuskan pada salah satu dari keempat  kemahiran dalam penguasaan bahasa Arab yaitu  mahârah Qirâah. Dalam tulisan ini mencoba untuk mengungkapkan keunggulan dari Maharah ini sangat penting untuk dikaji dan diterapkan ketika berlangsung pengajaran bahasa Arab pada mahasiswa, agar dapat termotivasi usaha belajar bahasa Arab dan menumbuhkan daya minat membaca majalah, buku-buku dan leteratur yang berbahasa Arab.Kata Kunci: al-qirâah, mahârah, al-ta’lîm, al-shômitah, al-jahriyah

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat persepsi mubaligh dan mubalighah di Kota Medan terhadap kesetaraan dan keadilan gender. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan dilakukan pada lima kecamatan di pinggiran kota Medan, yakni Medan Tembung, Medan Amplas, Medan Tuntungan, Medan Sunggal dan Medan Marelan. Sampel sebanyak 45 orang dan ditentukan dengan purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan intrumen angket. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi muballigh dan mubalighah terhadap keadilan dan kesetaraan gender belum belum konsisten. Ada kesadaran gender pada satu tema di dalam satu indikator, tapi tidak sejalan dengan tema lain dalam indikator yang sama, sehingga muncul pendapat yang kontra, Mayoritas mereka setuju bahwa pemimpin tidak harus laki-laki, tapi mereka tidak setuju bila perempuan menduduki jabatan lebih tinggi dari laki-laki. Selain itu, jenis kelamin perempuan lebih cenderung menunjukkan keberpihakannya kepada perempuan, sedangkan dari pihak laki-laki 50% masih menunjukkan bias gender. Abstract: The Perception Muslim Male and Female Preacher on Gender Equity and Justice in Medan. This research aims to find out the perception of gender equity and justice among preachers in North Sumatra province in the suburban of Medan, namely; Tembung, Amplas,  Tuntungan, Sunggal and Medan Marelan. This research used qualitative method with the sample of approximately 45 preachers determined by purposive sampling which then analyzed descriptively. The author concluded that the perception of preachers to justice and gender equality has not been entirely appropriate. There is incorrect understanding to religious creed which raises wrong perception to the gender equity and justice in matters of religious teachings. On one hand, they tend to to impress the gender awareness on one of theme in one of indicator that was not consistent with other themes that exist in the same indicators. Thus, counter argument appears, for example the majority of them agree that a leader should not be a man, but they also do not agree that a woman having higher positions than men. There is relationship between preachers perception with disposition of genders which woman like to show her side while the men from 50% still show gender bias. Kata Kunci: gender, kesetaraan, keadilan, muballigh, muballighah

Abstract

Abstract: Innovasion in Empowering Mosque for the Development of Islamic Education in Singapore. In contrast to the most generally accepted function of mosque for ritual observance, Singapore has stepped forward intransforming the role of mosque as an institution of Islamic education. Under the management of Islamic Religious Counsil of Singapore, in the year 2000 Singapore Islamic Education System (SIES) drafted new program for mosque education which was then taken into effect four years later. The author maintains that the introduction of this program not only cater the need of Muslims at all level of age but also provide room for the non-Muslim or what is the so called harmony centre. Based on field research in Singapore, this sutdy then focuses on analyzing what kind of distinct features that the program brought with it in empowering the roleof mosque for the development of Islamic education in the region. Abstract

Abstrak:  Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis delapan buku lektur sejarah pendidikan Islam modern karya-karya ilmuwan Muslim Indonesia. Temuan kajian ini adalah bahwa karya-karya tersebut membahas sejarah pendidikan Islam secara umum dari periode Rasul sampai Indonesia periode Orde Lama; paradigma pendidikan Islam hingga kontemporer; pertumbuhan dan pembaharuan pendidikan Islam. Ada juga karya yang merekonstruksi pendidikan Islam yang benar dan membahas dinamika pendidikan Islam secara luas tidak hanya di Indonesia namun juga di Asia Tenggara. Ada juga yang mengkaji berbagai pemikiran tokoh pendidikan Islam. Lalu karya lain mengkaji jaringan ulama Timur Tengah dan Kepulauan Nusantara dalam membentuk pendidikan yang Islami dan tentang zaman keemasan Islam, khususnya pendidikan. Semua lektur pendidikan ini sangat bermanfaat dalam menata ulang pendidikan Islami di Indonesia dan berkontribusi bagi kemajuan pendidikan Islam di masa mendatang. Abstract: Modern Literature of the History of Islamic Education in Indonesia. This article aims to analyze eight literatures on the history of modern Islamic education by Indonesian Muslim scholars. The research finds that the first book discusses the history of Islam education in general from the period of the Prophet to the period of Indonesia Old Order regime, the classic to the contemporary paradigm of Islamic education to the contemporary, the growth and renewal of Islamic education; the dynamics of Islamic education in general not only in Indonesia but also in Southeast Asia region. Other books examine various thought of Islamic scholars  of Islamic education as well as the golden age of Islam in various part, especially in the realm of education. The last book discussed is essential in rearranging Islamic education in Indonesia and contribute to the promotion of Islamic education in the future. Kata Kunci: lektur, sejarah pendidikan Islam, modern, Indonesia

Abstract: Epistemological Foundations of Islamic Communication. Epistemology is a branch of philosophy which is inherent in the superstructureof knowledge. Epistemology discusses the process of acquiring knowledge, scientific sources, validity of theoretical framework of sciences, and scientific streams. Like other Islamic sciences, Islamic communication science derives from al-Qur’an and Hadist as the main sources. Analyzing the universe, human being, historical records of men are the subjects of the Islamic communication science. Abstract: Productive Waqf in Indonesian Islamic Law: A Philosophical Analysis of Law No. 41/2004 on Waqf. One of the most marked feature of the Law of Republic of Indonesia number 41 year 2004 concerns with management of productive waqf. The law introduces some new rules which reformulate the prior waqf rules, the law namber 28 year 1977. The Law number 28/1977 and the prior wakaf law are considered less effective, dynamic and consumptive. Its regulation is oriented to property land (unmoveable object). What the purpose to include the productive waqf (moveable property) in the law number 41 year 2004 and how it manages and regulates the nazir waqf and when the productive waqf could be applied are becoming a question. This article tries to answer and analyze these questions in philosofical thinking to include productive waqf such as moveable property as mentioned in some articles found in the law number 41 year 2004 about Waqf.Kata Kunci: wakaf produktif, undang-undang, hukum

Abstract

Abstract: The Concept of Sunna in the Pespective of Muhammad Syahrur: A New Reading on Hadith Critism. The development of hadits critisism dircourses has been an interesting issue in Islamic studies. Since the early period of Islam, scholars was constructed and developed methodology that would become the standard for qualification of hadith applicable in the succeeding generation. However, in this contemporary period, studies on Hadith is very contrast to the early period like what Muhammad Syahrur, a prominent Syirians scholar has done. According to Syahrur, the Prophet’s saying and deeds are the product of history rather than revelation. He claimed that whatever hadiths that are contradictory to al-Qur’an must be rejected, although related to religious observance or moral conduct.
